Destino
I just finished watching the cowgirls beat a playoff team with a surprisingly good pasing game. The Giants put up 40+ points. The Eagles are clearly a good team. The obvious concern is our offense. This "playing it safe" BS keeps up and 0-6 division record isn't hard to see coming. Coach Gibbs, time to break out the magic and force these bums to put up some serious points!

Gibbs has got to trust whoever is the damm QB to throw the ball.
Heidenreich
I didn't think the Giants were that impressive. Manning was average at quarterback. They had two returns for touchdowns (one by Chad Morton), and barber's TD was set up by another great kickoff return. They looked good on their first drive, but the offense was average at best for the rest of the game.......
JerseyGator
Chad Morton scored a TD for the Giants today. At least someone on the Redskins payroll did.

Putting up 40+ no matter how the hell you did it is impressive. If they did it with bad QB play then it is MORE impressive. It's harder to beat a team that gets you in many ways then those with one strength.

MrFrank
Well, let's put the 9-7 Redskins victory over the Bears in perspective, shall we? I think we can agree that the Bears are going to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. So if the Redskins are even as half as good as most of you seem to believe, then Gibbs and Co. should have been able to hang A LOT more points. 9 points? The Cowboys, who wasn't anywhere near as good as they are now, managed to beat the Bears 21-7 last season. If the Redskins even hope to stay afloat in the NFC East, they are going to have to get A LOT more production from their offense than they got today. -CP

ez2envy
Lat year the whole Bears defense was hurt basically. When we played them they had nothing but backups in basically. This first game they had everyone at full strength and the Bears defense will be a top 5 or top 10 in the league if they dont have too many injurys. Next week it will be tough to run on Dallas as you see Tomlinson had a hard time but I think our line will wear Dallas down and Portis will get close to 100 yards. But we needa try to pass on them. Henry looked like a real stud today and looks much better than Newman. It will be a hard fought game that will come down to execution and will be decided in the 4th quarter, Dallas got kinda lucky today cause on 3 of there scores there drive contionued after a 3rd down penalty which all would of cause a 4th down. They capitalised off of the Scrub Jammer and won the game. No way will it be that easy on Bledsoe next week. The chargers hardly blitzed and Bledsoe was still getting hit I think it said 10 hurrys and was knocked down continulously. Like any QB in the league you cant give him all day to pass the ball or they will look like there good like Bledsoe

San Diego benefited from a fumbled snap by Bledsoe on our first drive in SD territory. Basically a gimmie turnover. Also two second half SD drives started @ midfield or better based on poor kickoff coverage by Dallas which will be corrected. For Dallas to pull out a win with many young players still learning is a big plus. Next Mon night.. will be a hard fought game!
Eastsidestory5
I have to agree with you. But I liked the creativity when Sean Taylor was put in at WR next to the goal line.
Danny Montana
I was impressed with the Cowboys win, they very well could be tough this year. But I'm far from sold on the Giants. They blew out an extremely overrated Cards team with the help of two returns for touchdowns. They scored 40, but take a closer look at the offensive numbers, not that impressive. Yes, gotta put up more points, but the Bears issues dont come from the defensive side of the ball, but the offensive. The Defense is expected to be one of the leagues top this year. Last year they were missing a lot of D starters. If the chargers didnt commit penalties several times on 3rd and long the cowboys wouldnt have won, and J Jones didnt do a whole lot in the second half, even though the Chargers D is pretty weak. Cant tell a ton about a team based on week one, its only one opponent. Skins Offense could end up being a lot better then they appeared today, and the Cowboys could be a lot worse
TheLongshot
I think we can agree that the Bears are going to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. Actually, from what I saw today, I think they will be a .500 team. Orton showed some stuff, and once Benson gets more reps, they will have a decent offense. Their defense was pretty tough. Sure, we have a ways to go, but I don't think we are that far off. Jason
MrFrank
One team that I think could surprise a lot of people this year are the Detroit Lions. They look like a team that could be a few weeks away from really doing something.
DallasInDC
If the chargers didnt commit penalties several times on 3rd and long the cowboys wouldnt have won... Actually, the same could have been said of the Bears with their 3 false start penalties in row after driving into fieldgoal range with an opportunity to take the lead in the 4th quarter. Both the skins and the cowboys could have lost this week but they didn't. There is definetly room for improvement from both teams and I expect next weeks game to be a good one - with the cowboys winning of course. I think we are going to have to go for the jugular early and often in games..conservatism with piss poor officiating is just to damn scary week in and week out. LWC
Don't let the NY final score fool ya. It was close until the big KO return, and then it looks like the wheels just came off. Containing Tiki is the key. He makes that offense go. If Manning beats us, I'll tip my hat off to the guy, but don't let Tiki go wild.
