Gardner didn't even play i don't think. if he did play he didn't get any yards.

Does anyone know for sure whether he played or not? His stats was the first thing I checked after today's Redskins game.

...and found he did zilch.

And Coles caught 6 passes for 66 yards, exactly the kind of average he had last year. How long will it be before he demands a trade??? :silly:

ill say we get the winning end of the gardner trade cuz we opened a roster spot and got a draft pick, aside from the fact we converted a first rounder into a sixth rounder.

Moss looked good today, but I reserve judgement on the trade until at least four games into it, notice coles had more receptions but moss had more explosiveness, that is a trade off cuz moss has never had a ninety catch year. We dont know if moss can take that kind of beating over the middle coles could. But for today, moss did better then coles would have done.

What some Jets fans are saying about Coles and Moss today:

"Laveneous had a terrible game today. When we had a slight chance to get back into the game he droped a TD pass and then he droped a meaningless TD at the end of the game.

I hope this just a one game problem but his lack of concentration has me concerned."

"2 big drops, although that wouldn't have changed the outcome."

"I think at that point the entire team was just out of it. It's no excuse, but I wouldn't expect to see that type of performance again."

"Mistakes like that happen all the time when a team is losing a game like that. When it rains, it pours and those types of mistakes are contagious. Coles will be fine."

"so many people on here were DISSING SANTANA, saying COLES WAS THIS HUGE UPGRADE...are you still worshipping Lavernaues...that pass down the middle hit him RIGHT IN THE HANDS. Chad hit him in stride perfectly. Maybe i'm wrong, but i can't remember the last time i saw Santana drop a catchable ball."

"Go watch the Steeler playoff game again. 3rd down in the 4th quarter after Bettis fumbled, Moss was WIDE open and dropped it, it was a definite first down that would have allowed us to drive more and chew up more clock."

"Yeah, you're wrong. Coles is a huge upgrade."

"Two key drops, yep."

"Coles may have had some drops today, but in a game where things went against us all day long; it's not as big of a deal. What I saw was some positive route running, and awareness enough to always create space in key downs."

"Oh, there were quite a few. And when is the last time you saw Santana make a tough catch in traffic going over the middle. Coles is an upgrade, just not as big as some would like to think."

"when was the last time you saw Randy Moss (or Jerry Rice) "make a tough catch in traffic going over the middle"? Randy Moss doesn't take any big hits either? he runs mostly fly patterns. do you think Coles is better than Randy?

Wayne Gretzky was always protected on his teams by thugs so that the other team wouldn't hurt him. It's not about TAKING HITS. It's about WINNING.

does anybody agree with me???"

"I don't anyone thinks Coles is a huge upgrade over santana. He's better with Pennington than Moss was. Moss' big year was with Vinny throwing most of the year. Moss and Pennington just never connected well."

"Who caught Chad's bomb in the endzone last year in the playoffs against SD? it wasn't coles.

look at coles' career playoff receiving numbers. they suck."

"What do Dillard's and Dan Snyder have in Common? Laveranues stole money from both. Woody, you may be next."
