SkinsTillIDie
Well, we are a bit like Queens Park Rangers, in terms of recent success! We were once a great franchise, the team that dominated the league and others looked up to, somewhat like the success of QPR in the 70s. However, since Joe Gibbs, hall of fame coach, left, we have been in turmoil, going to one "playoff" appearance in the past 13ish years. We haven't had a winning season in 5 years, despite us being like Manchester United in terms of wealth. However, we have since gotten Joe Gibbs back to coach us to victory. The mass media predicts us for another year of doom, losing as many as 75% of our games, but we Redskin Faithful expect better. Just like QPR are trying to get back to the days of the Premiership, we're trying to get back to the days of continuous playoff appearances. And it all starts today, in one hour, against the lowly Bears (another underachieving franchise). So, in essence, if you wanted to have a winning team to support right off the bat, you probably picked the wrong team. However, if you wanted a big team rich with tradition and history, and you wanted to experience the rebirth from continual losing seasons to hopefully Super Bowl appearances, then there isn't a better franchise. panel
To help you get aquanted with the team hear is a quick overveiw of our starters for this season. QB- Patrick Ramsey - our first round pick of a few years ago. This is the year he needs to prove himself, it is also the first year where he will be givin a fair chance to prove himself. Is know for having one of the strongest arms in the league. Needs to prove that he can throw the ball gently when needed to sucseed. RB- Clinton Portis - Known through out the league as an elite back and real young for someone of his accomplishments. A quick back with moves on top of moves. HB- Chris Cooley - An exwreslter who is a young player and a leathal target in the endzone. TE- Robert Royal - A young TE who was a low round draft pick a few years ago, but who has now battled up to start this year. OFFENSIVE LINE: The Blockers OT- Jon Jansen - tough blocker who is a team leader and is know as one of the best at his position. Is a tall man and has speed too. OG- Derrick Dockery - Young gaurd who's strenth is is monster like size. C- A solid Vet putting in his first year with the team. OG- Randy Thomas - A Big vet who rarly makes a mistake and rarly misses a game, one of the best gaurd in football. OT- Chris Samuals - A big player, uses his strenth to dominate players, has been named to the pro bowl several times in years past. WR- Santana Moss - a small quick player who's strengths are his blazing speed and shifty moves after the catch. WR- David Patten - a fast player when it comes to running striat down the feild, also is a solid veteran who has plenty of experiance. WR- James Thrash - Even though he don't see tons of passes come his way, he is another quick vet who uses his experiance to out smart defending players, and a guy who doubles his worth in his special teams play. DEFENSE DE- Renoldo Wynn- a player who can play DE or DT DE- Philip Daniels- An emotional Vet with a good work ethic DT- Brandon Nobel- his career was considerd over two years ago when he suffered a devistating injury to his knee, but he put in some much work in his recovery efferts that after missing one season, he was back in uniform. DT- Cornelius Griffin- By far our best D lineman, uses his strenth to get past the O line. LB- Marcus Washington- Was voted as our best defensive player last season, his speen and strenth earned him a pro bowl spot last year. MLB- Lemar Marshal- established hmself by filling in for the injured LaVar Arrington last season, did such a good job filling in that he was givin a starting spot this year. LB- LaVar Arrington- Quite honestly, he is the best linebacker in the league. Not only is he the fastest at his position, he won the NFL's strongest man compition a few years ago, is now recovering from a knee injury he sustained last season. Is know for devistating hits. Feared by offensive players. CB- Shawn Springs, an older CB who has done a great job shuting down WRs one on one. CB- Walt Harris- another older CB who we hope will be good enough to start for us this year CB- Carlos Rogers- our #1 pick this year who we hope will learn enough to replace Walt Harris as starting CB sometime this season S- Matt Bowen- a solid saftey who likes putting big hits on running backs S- Sean Tayler- one of the most dynamic players in football, is know to some as a smaller more actrobtic version of Lavar.
