Art
I think this chat was a NO BRAINER situation for Dan. What better way to counter some of the negative media criticism/bias than go directly to the fans? This is the kind of access even the media can't get anymore. Talking directly to the fans will help him win back a lot of support. Giving us names to take questions/problems to was HUGE in bridging some gaps with the Fan Experience. Art, two questions. Did he have any of these questions in advance or were they all asked and answered during the chat? If during the chat, did he seem to have anybody with him to consult with or did every answer come quickly and decisively? Mr. Snyder was exposed to these questions for the first time as he was asked them. We prepared the questions and ordered them in a way we felt was appropriate and each was given to Mr. Snyder one by one until done. At no point did he consult with anyone upon giving an answer. He simply took the question and answered. Very cool if you ask me .

Redskins4Life
First of all ... I have always admired Blade and the staff here at ES for all of the hard work that they have put into making this the best fan site of the entire internet. I have always tried to put this site up for a Webby nomination simply because I've always felt that this is the best fan site. By getting this chat for the fans, pretty much shows that my belief in this site was and always has been correct (if I didn't believe in this site, I wouldn't have been one of the very first platinum contributors to the upkeep of the site). So on behalf of Redskins fans everywhere, I want to thank Blade, OM, Art, and everyone on the ES staff for even allowing us the opportunity to even speak to Mr. Snyder. I don't think that this has ever even happened on a formerly privately owned fan-site. I don't think that you'll ever get to see this happening on the other fan-sites of other teams around the league, or in professional sports. When The Dan decided to merge ES with redskins.com, I'm pretty sure that just that by itself was something that hadn't been done with any professional sports team. I honestly doubt that you'll see Al Davis try and merge his raiders.com with raiderfans.net or Pat Bowlen merge his site with theorangemane.com, or even good 'ol uncle Jerrah Jones merge his cowboys.com website with its most popular Cowboys fan-site. So I'm sure that this has probably been brought up before, but allow me to reiterate that this is a very awesome opportunity for every Redskin fan on the entire planet, to have this kind of unprecidented access. I'm sure that this is what Tarhog was just merely trying to convey ... so beers to everyone on the ES staff. With that being said my thoughts on the chat were basically that whatever dislike I had for Snyder, is pretty much gone now. I think that if you were to really look closely on this, you can pretty much see the ongoing theme here is that "I'm human, I make mistakes too, and that I'm learning from one of the best minds in all of humanity (I pretty much got the impression that Snyder pretty much worships the very ground that Joe Gibbs walks on ...) ... and that I want this team to be the ultimate best in all of sports, and that I will do anything that is within my financial means to make this happen." I also got the impression that Dan Snyder is pretty much just like any of us fans, except that he's obviously the owner, and a heck of a lot more wealthier than the majority of us. But what I mean is that I got the impression that this is someone who if we actually got to meet better, that he would be someone you would proudly want to save a bar-stool for and share a beer with or whatever adult beverage it is that he prefers. Most importantly however, is that I got he just wants what all of us want, and that is another Lombardi to sit in Redskins Park or whatever Redskins Hall of Fame museum it is that is going to happen in D.C. or near FedEx or whatever. All in all this was an awesome read, and they were good questions. I hope the biggest thing that he got from it was that the fanbase really wants a change in the audio/video system at the stadium, and soon. Thank you Blade, Die Hard, Art, OM, and Tarhog for making this possible. :notworthy :logo:
Mr. S
i definitely do have more of a liking for Snyder now, that was great how he did that, and answered the questions the way he did. I am happy to be a part of everything.

Art
This merger has been a blessing. looks like the critics were wrong. The merger is exactly what we envisioned it would be. We bargained for access to the team for all fans. The team is delivering. If we're right, and people keep paying attention, they always will. Tommy-the-Greek
This was a monumental and historic day for sports fan everywhere. Most fans can only imagine what it would be like to ask the owner of there team a question and get an answer. We not only got to ask a question, but we got to ask him many questions and get answers to every one. That my friends is unprecidented access that other fans can only dream about. Thank you Dan Snyder for taking the time out of your busy day and to share it with your fellow fans. We as Redskins fans have the best owner in the NFL. Thank you ES for being the best sports message board community on the web. All the naysayers who doubted the benefits of the marriage between DS and ES are choking on the feathers from that slice of crow pie they just swallowed. I understand that he couldn't be too specific on my first question but I am still curious as to when he started to lurk about. I really wanted to know was he lurking before or after Marty? I have no doubts he was lurking thru the Spurrier years. From Tommy-the-Greek How long were you lurking on Extremeskins and what was/is your user name if you are a member? Quote: Dan Snyder I don't post, but from time to time I too look at what the sentiment is out there. I share many of the same thoughts as the rest of our fans. I was hoping he would have given us something specific he learned from Joe. We all know he is learning from the master like a young padiwon(sp) learner and will weild the force for years to come. it would have been better if he gave us some insight into some of what he has learned. From Tommy-the-Greek What have you learned from Joe Gibbs about building and maintaining a football program that you will use to the benefit of the franchise for generations to come? Quote: Dan Snyder I've met the greatest leader I've seen whether in business, sports or my personal life.

PleaseBlitz
Hey he even got to my question about getting a job with the Redskins. Unfortuantely, the answer i was looking for was "When can you start and how much of a signing bonus would you like?" Great job ES staff. Keep up the good work! gridironmike
He didn't answer the question about the Arena League team! Yeah, I'd like to know the answer to that too. Maybe he did answer it in the ownership question, just not directly. I'm sure everyone would like all of "their" questions answered and I was lucky enough to get one answered. I am thrilled to know that the Redskins are planning to have their own Hall of Fame.
