LiveStrongSkins
I am currently coaching the freshman QB's at my old high school due to the idle time I have due to the ending of treatment. Anyways, my question is... what are some drills I can run to get my QB to take his drop and get rid of the ball? Ive tried many things to get him to relax. The kid has a cannon and freakish athletic ability. Since this is his first year playing football he gets nervous by the rush and feels like he needs to take a few powersteps forward or roll out to throw every pass. The few times he has delivered the ball straight out of his 3 step drop it has resulted in huge gains. As a coach im just trying to figure out the best way to get him to relax and be more consistent. Get a life size poster of Sean Taylor, Lavar Arrington, and Marcus Washington and glue them on separate boards. Hike the ball then throw all three at him at the same time. Just make sure your freshman has Depends on...... Ok well, I am not a coach...... but it sounded good.

Joncevensen
have the QB take a snap with only receivers being covered by CB and no front seven on the field, then add in a DL, then add in a blitzing LB, and then go straight to a full eleven on eleven. slowly build his confidience. that's how i would do it

Coach Williams
I had a kid who refused to stop running about 2 years ago..... I tied a 2 foot cord to his ankles and from that practice on he stayed in the pocket unless he had to run...... Of course his drop back was stupid looking when tied up but you get the idea......I had them running a lot of shotgun drills the day I did this though......
