auburnt1gers
I saw the box score last night, 7-16-112, 2 int, 1 td But how did he look on the field? I can imagine the NFL game is just slightly different than college ball He will be a good one for you guys, I am sure of that.
Warhead36
Had some bad indecisive moments but threw a nice TD pass to Farris and also executed a 2 minute drive to get us into what turned out to be the game tieing FG.
Drunken Master III
Actually he did good. The offense line could not keep the pressure from him though. The Ravens blitzed him every play. Jim Molinaro was trying to get him killed.
SamSneed36
Looked like a rookie. Not a great game, except for one perfect bomb to Farris for a TD. The pass to Dyson to get us into field goal range for the tie was also nice
Leonard Washington
molinaro just could not handle the guy he was blocking. it wasn't like molinaro was letting the guy go free, he was trying. that guy was looking like bruce smith against poor jim. auburnt1gers
So if he had really good offensive line protection, would he have done better? Or were the mistakes more on him?
SamSneed36
So if he had really good offensive line protection, would he have done better? Or were the mistakes more on him? Lil bit of both. He was holding it a little long which is common for rookies. He'll be fine, his accuracy is amazing, he throws perfect passes on longer throws. You must mean Bruce Smith circa 1995 not the Bruce Smith from 2000-2003. So if he had really good offensive line protection, would he have done better? Or were the mistakes more on him? The o-line had some to do with it but he looked like a rookie at times...held the ball a little long, stared down his recievers some (resulting in int's), but he showed flashes of brilliance. He just need some experience...I think last night was a valuable lesson for him. He got knocked around some but didn't get hurt...and made some nice plays during the last two minutes. He will be a great QB in the future...I doubt he will see the field again this season though... :2cents:
Fred Jones
I thought Campbell made some progression. He made some rookie mistakes, like the two int's. He still does not have command of the offense, but that is expected. He does look comfortable in the pocket and he makes some nice throws. I am glad we picked him in the draft and believe he will develop into a good QB.
