Thoughts from the game as viewed from section 553.

Went to my first skins game ina long time tonight. Last minute notice this afternoon my cousin got his hands on two tickets in section 553, upperdeck on the 45 yard line. Not too bad, but a long way to the field. Here are my thoughts and observations in no particular order.

That Ravens 4/6 is going to cause people some problems this year. It gave the line some trouble early as they simply brought too many people from too many directions that the line was not quite ready for. I think given a little adjustment time we would have perfored better with Ramsey, but by and large he had people after him pretty quickly. Only one play I remember did he have adaquate time to throw comfortably, and that time he hung in the pocket for what seemed like days only to not find anyone open. I do however think that this scheme has weaknesses that opposing offenses will begin to exploit later in the season.

Antonio Brown had a bad night. I'm sure no one needs to be told that, but DAMN!!! If he could have just held onto the ball he would have been spectacular. One thing I did notice from watching him, he seems to have a little difficulty with balls up over his head. It looks like he has trouble reaching up like that with his pads on. He may have to wear a more stout shoulder pad for return duty that impedes his arms a little for playing receiver. Not coincidentally, Brunnell threw just about everything that went his way up over his head. Does not justify his problems, but I think we may see some type of change in equipment if we see him at WR in the regular season. The boy has moves that you wouldn't believe, and we've seen him make the catch in the past, so all is not lost for him as a situational guy at WR.

Rufus Brown looks to be gone. He single handedly sabotaged one defensive series. Nearly ever play that Ravens made was either because of him, or victimised him. In his defense, he was lined up against Mark Clayton, who looked very good tonight.

Defense overall looked very good. Didn't have to hear that stupid "Move them Chains" thing very often till late in the game.

Lavar looked like Lavar. Wooohoooooo!!!!!

Carlos Rogers looked extremely good. I watched him for a while, and he's going to be a good one for us.

Campbell throws a nice ball, but does not seem comfortable at all yet. He looks relaxed before and after the play, and even seems on an even keel while the defense is attcking him, but then he throws the most inexplicable passes you ever seen. He needs some time.

Keasey looked good again.

Dyson played well. Made the type of plays you expect from a guy his size.
