SouthernSkinsFan
Smoots probably one of my all time favorite Redskins. You know you're young when Smooty is one of your ALL TIME favorite 'Skins. (Poor guy probably doesn't remember Dave Butz, let alone Larry Brown, Billy K, or Chris Hanburger.) For the record, I agree with the good looking Blonde on this one - let's look forward. :2cents:
brooksfb
Yeah. Sucks. Anyway, back to the players on our team. My thoughts exactly. Why waste even a minute wishing for something that ain't gonna happen. Even if he came back today, when and where would he play. He's not better than Springs and the high dollar rookie is gonna get playing time until he proves to be a bust. If we had every good player that we let go in the past, we'd be a championship team every year. Unfortunately, the NFL doesn't work that way. By the way, enjoy the performances of Lavar while you can. As soon as he can, he's gone.
CEJ2200
I loved watching him when he was with the team, but after going on record that DC was where he wanted to play and subsequently demanding an outrageous contract only to settle for roughly the same amount of money from Minn. that we were able to offer...I don't wish anything bad for him, but Good riddance
PapaDRoc
From today's Star Tribune:Cornerback Fred Smoot said the bruised right knee that caused his preseason debut to be postponed until Friday's victory felt fine afterward. Smoot, in fact, felt so good that he argued with Tice about coming out of the game in the first half until the coach took his helmet away on the sideline. That proved to be a good move by Tice. "I've been known to go back out on the field when I'm not supposed to," Smoot said. "I just enjoy myself out there." ----- I love this guy. He's such a competitor that his coaches have to physically keep him out of a preseason game. Even though I feel good with Springs, Rogers and Harris, I miss Smoot. Mooka
i think chump had a lot to do with smoot's decision to leave, i liked his passion for the game and the way his teammates seemed to feed off of his antics and fearlessness in the locker room and the field, but deep down he left for such lousy reasons so one has to wonder how much the Team really meant to him. The Vikings offered Smoot a much better contract than we did. The total money looks around the same but the contract he signed with the Vikings was much better. (not as backloaded as our offer)

Larry
It's always great to hear about players arguing w/ their head coaches during a game. Um, Fans of teams that have had problems of players punching their teammates, during practice, should not throw stones. Right now, I'm focused on sending good vibes at the Skins, and I don't care about other teams.

sircharlz
smoot was a liability on the corner blitz plays. he'd fly in at the QB with eyes closed and come up empty handed. I wasn't surprised we let him go - you gotta be able to tackle to play on this D He is funny as heck though......
HeHateMe
I had hoped Dallas would make a run at him this offseason. One of the few Redskins I liked.
