Ricky Ervins
Is anyone else scared that Darnerian McCants is going to get cut before the season starts, only to sign with the Eagles and have 2 huge games against us during the regular season? Or is it just me?
RedskinzOwnU
i like mccants, but i don't fear him on another team. Honestly, no offense scares me with the defense we put on the field. I like mccants, but i'm confident we would shut him down if he ever lined up against us.
kappaluvacee
I think he is Philly bound. He will be there playing alongside a college teammate (Jamal Jackson).
TD_washingtonredskins
I'm not scared about it. I think last night might have been a clear indication that he's going to be cut though. Honestly, I'm OK with almost any move Gibbs makes. As much as I like some players we have, I trust that Gibbs will keep the ones that he thinks can help us get back to the playoffs! authentic
i like him also but he doesn't seem to have the passion to play. Seriouly, I don't know what it is, i think that his heart is split between football and singing. Damn, Darkarien - you think with the potential that he could be very good, but oh well he may need a change of scenery.
bulldog
With McCants you really have to be a fan of his to find the positives in his tenure with the Skins. He has been a waste of a roster space for the past year plus. Based on what he did last night in garbage time I honestly can't tell you whether he 'outperformed' Dyson, but I do know that Gibbs puts a lot into what he sees in practice each week as well and I am fairly sure that Dyson has probably outworked McCants............. Ignatius J.
So what you're saying bulldog is the reason ASF left is sheer embarassment over the failure that D-mac is?

Alot of us need to follow TD_'s way of thinking. Now, of course if we did, there would be alot less entertaining threads around here. But when you really stop to think about it...Gibbs has got this. P.S. I agree with whoever is saying that McCants just does not look like a player who enjoys what he does for a living. tr1
Based on what now??? oh yea, that 2 yard catch he had that was called back Dyson dropped a ball where he was wide open. I don't remember him making another catch, though he may have.
redman
Not scared cause Jacobs is the one who should be cut.Yeah, good thinking. Let's cut the guy who works hard at everything, including special teams, who runs good routes, and who has a great attitude, and keep the guy who has no particular attributes to his credit except that he's big and he flourished for a time in the worst offense that this organization has had the misfortune to suffer through in the last 40 years. jimster
we should try to trade McCants to Seattle for a 7th round pick to keep him out of our division.
GoDannyBoy
we should try to trade McCants to Seattle for a 7th round pick to keep him out of our division. Maybe a 2007 7th? A sixth for Rod and you think we could get something for McCants?
jimster
I'd still take that.
bulldog
the only asset McCants has is size. he doesn't have great hands. he doesn't have a very good work ethic. he doesn't even seem to be a guy for which football is more than a 9 to 5 type gig to get paid. compare his attitude over the past year and a half with that of Rock Cartwright or James Thrash who have done everything but bust a lung to show they will contribute to this team then come back and tell me why McCants deserves a roster spot reserved for him. because he might be picked up by the Eagles? McCants could not make a case to get on the field for the #30 offense in the NFL in 2004
PREDICTOR
Maybe a 2007 7th? A sixth for Rod and you think we could get something for McCants? McCants made a catch last night by using his body to shield the ball from the guy. This is the kind of big receiver who the Skins need. Dyson committed several errors last night incluidng a drop that would have been for a first down. McCants has upside but he needs to be on the field...in place of Thrash. SamSneed36
I think he will make the team. Everyone knows he isnt doin much because of the stitches, Dyson has no excuse and I see him droppin a lot of the balls thrown his way.
wsgully
It's difficult to choose between McCants and Dyson. Dyson is old and doesn't have any upside. McCants is a good red zone td grabber. If we get rid of McC, I hope we trade him out of the division because I strongly believe that Philly would pick him up in a heartbeat if cut. For that reason I think he'll make it over Dyson. There is no way we're getting rid of Jacobs, so pick your big receiver. I would also prefer a way for Rock and Broughton to both make it. With the exception of DE/DT and QB, the skins seem likely to let good people go at all positions at the final cut. G
