Gameballs And Goats

Gameballs:

Offensive Line-Was I watching a replay of a game from the 80's or what? We dominated a very good Steelers front 7.

Portis and Betts-Portis will be a top 5 RB with at least 1500 yards with these kinds of games and Betts is a hell of a backup.

Moss-2 catches for 68 yards? I love his gamebreaking ability, plus he didn't retreat to the sideline. :)

Goats:

Taylor-Where was he? 0 tackles and I don't think he had any knockdowns either. He was just invisible out there. He missed some tackles, too.

Holdman-He really hasn't looked as good as I thought he has. I mistaked him for 3rd string undrafted FAs at times.

Special Teams-Besides Andy Groom's rocket punts they were just miserable out there. Many missed tackles and poor coverage and they can't seem to block, either.

I give Ramsey a net of 0 for the interception and few misthrows cancelling out the rest of his great play.

I give the DL a net of 0 also because they were great at stuffing the run but got no pass rush whatsoever.

He changed his number. Stop looking for #36 on Defense... ;)

Seriously, though, I do remember him having a batted pass for some reason. He also made a few run stops at the line. I remember one in particular, but I don't think Pittsburgh was working on a whole lot more than their run game last night. Didn't look like it until the end of the game, anyway.

That wouldn't make it any different than last year, which would be fine as long as our Secondary is capable, but Griff and Big Joe had a nice time rushing the pocket while they were in the game. Griff, in particular.

I don't really care about getting a huge rush from the line, to be honest. We showed last year that our D wasn't going to suffer like Dallas of '03 did by not having a huge rush from the D-Line. Once they got figured out, everyone did what they wanted with them. They backslid into the playoffs and maintained their #1 D by virtue of facing us with Mr 0.0 at QB. We maintained the total quality of our D. There are plenty of D's out there with far more weaknesses than we have. If Daniels can strap it on and we can add a pass-rushing DE next year we'll be truly evil.
