SkinsNeverDie
If not IMO, maybe even a bit better with Arrington back, and Carlos played well tonight. I think we could be anywhere from the 2nd to the 5th best Defense in the League. Gregg Williams is the man!

SkinsNeverDie
I think our 2nd team pass def is still a little weak though.
atloldskin
They are very deep if Arrington and Daniels play the entire year. Holdman and Marshall looked good, except for one missed tackle high by Marshall. The defensive backfield is also very deep and the we have a number of "grunt" guys on the DL. If our O can control the ball like last night, this D will not give up much (other than junk yards because we will be winning big!)
scruffylookin
It's only two preseason games, but the most surprising but very positive sign to me is that Carlos Rogers looks like a natural already. He might be an upgrade over Smoot not only in the long term, but as early as this season.
ZkinsFan
good stuff!!! The D would be really strong this year
Warhead36
Rogers is going to be a stud. Big Ben didn't even look his way.
SamSneed36
it did seem that a lot of the three and outs were the steeler wide recievers dropping passes and not so much great coverage, but I know Walt Harris was out, was Taylor on the first team? I cant remember. Arrington wasnt on the first team either and Rogers is still getting back into shape. Oh and Bowen went out early, so Im sure the Pass D is there. Got some pressure on Roth but not like we were last year, but im certainly not worried about the D. I know they will get ti done all year *Tackling also looks like it needs some work but we were so good at that last year im sure it will be fixed by sept
rebornempowered
Arrrington was fun to watch. He sure was pumped to be back in action!

He mastered the art of missing the blitz, the Ole' tackle and running his mouth. He was serviceable, but Springs is a better corner than smoot will ever hope to be! Rogers is the real deal. Once he gets his legs, watch out!
rhyno
you could feel the d really starting to gain energy and poise through the first half. They really started to click out there.

I just thought we'd have to deal with some rookie mistakes and growing pains this season and wait for him to blossom next year and so far, aside from being gassed in his first game, Rogers looks like he's going to step in from Day one and play great football. sonofbutz
Yeah it seemed as if the Steelers picked on the the 3rd corner or safety the never really looked outside so I will reserve all judgement until the CB's get tried on a consistent basis
