Commander PK
Well, we got our first pre-season win tonight. Here are some of the things I noticed. Our running game looked absolutely phenominal all night long. Portis, Betts, Rock, and Broughton all made the Steelers #1 ranked defense from last year look like swiss cheese. Pat looked much better tonight than he has of yet this pre-season. We saw a lot more good throws tonight than bad ones. Mark's play seems to continue to reinforce the fact that last year was probably an abberation, and he's looking more like the QB that went to the Pro Bowl 3 times in Jacksonville. For those calling for Campbell to start...I think tonight showed that while he has some talent, he is nowhere near ready to lead this team. He's a few years away atleast. The defense continues to impress. They are playing good solid, aggressive football. I'd like to have seen a few more sacks, other than the one on St. Pierre late in the game, and an interception by the first teamers would have been great, but they continue to get the job done. I think Antonio Brown made a few bad decisions on special teams tonight. I think he is going to be a great returner for this team, but he tried to force it a bit. Put some balls into play, when he probably should have called fair catch, but he is aggressive, and wants to make big plays. That's a good thing. Overall, I really think this is a Redskin team that could shock some people. They are going to only get stronger as the season progresses, and could very well make a late run at the playoffs. If the Running game clicks like it did tonight when it counts, make no mistake, we are going to win some ball games. Defenses will stack the line to stop the run, and Pat (or Mark) is going to make them pay by throwing bombs to Moss and Patten. If there was a downer, it's that Pat still isn't on target right now with his long throws, but I think that's going to come. Overall, very encouraging performance tonight all around, and it's a good game to build on. Another tough test, and awesome defense with Baltimore coming up. I'm stoked. It's going to be a fun season. :logo:
Phat Hog
We clearaly improved in a few areas, and continued to do very well in a lot of others. Ramsey looked pretty good tonight, but I can't say that I'm not a little worried still. Aside from that, I have no other issues with this team. B.A.M.F.
The defence looked pretty good, but there were several drops by the steelers that could have hurt us.

Commander PK
The defence looked pretty good, but there were several drops by the steelers that could have hurt us. I saw that as well, but I didn't really see any that would have made huge differences in the outcome. I think a lot of dropped passes happen, because the receiver knows he is going to be drilled if he does. The fact that there were a few tonight, could be because our defense is putting the fear of god into people. I bet we see a few more PINKston's this year.
makaur
I watched the game and I have to give your team props. They are very impressive on defense and your offensive line looks VERY strong. Very good running back depth too I must add. Good things will be happening in Washington this year, best of luck to you all! Now if only my Bears could get a QB!
Commander PK
and I would be remiss if I didn't note the play of the offensive line. This was a HUGE problem for us in recent years, but they look infinitely better right now then they have in a while. They are the biggest reason why the running game is clicking. Having Jansen back, and adding Ryback has made a huge difference.
SkinsTillIDie
Just got back, a few points of notice. Ramsey needs to learn to take a sack. On the INT play, I saw the blitz coming from that side from a mile away. Ramsey saw it too, and he forced a throw waaay too early, when the WR wasn't even looking. Easy pick and score. Our running game was beastly. I think we ran the ball on first down on every single drive in the first half bar one, and we didn't go 3 and out until late in the game. We ran it down their throats, and we played Joe Gibbs football. Run, run, run, run, deep pass. On Ramsey's one deep pass in the first quarter, he had his man wide open. He underthrew it and Moss (?) punched the air in frustration after the ball hit the ground. We have a LOT of speed at receiver. These guys can get open. David Patten catches everything, and Moss is fantastic after the catch. He's a playmaker. Our offensive line was once again supurb. No sacks, and we ran it up the gut all game. Clinton Portis - 6 yards per carry against the #1 defense in the league. Good, good work. Patrick Ramsey's footwork has greatly improved. He moved to the outside of the pocket to avoid the rush twice in consecutive plays. Ramsey's stats don't jump out, 12/19 for 141 yards, a td and an int. However, he played much better than the numbers suggest, against the #1 D. And if our running game is on like it was tonight, we won't need him to be spectacular. It seems like we have a very solid backup in Mark Brunell. I can't say much about our defense, as they were barely on the field. Giving up 3 points to a 15-1 team is fantastic, and a lot of that has to do with the fact that we had almost 2/3 of the possession. It seems like Coach Williams is holding back our team and has not been willing to blitz, hense the lack of sacks and thus turnovers. I have a feeling our linebackers will be hungry come Chicago. Andy Groom has quite a leg. Is this Tom Tupa's end? A fantastic win, a real confidence booster. I'm looking forward to da Bears much more than I was before. We played like a true playoff team tonight.

Commander PK
sniff sniffI smell playoffs I'm smelling em too bubba. The return of smash mouth fooball to Washington. It's absolutely amazing the difference in the way this team looks when compared to the Spurrier teams. Show me another team in the NFL that has such a huge difference in scheme, and appoach from now back 2 years. 2 years ago, Spurrier would call Pass Pass Run Pass. Tonight, the Skins rammed the ball at the Steelers D all night long. When was the last time we saw a Redskins team run the ball that well.
