jimster
Jags Trade Kicker Marler to Cowboys http://sports.iwon.com/news/08262005/v2743.html Aug 26, 4:25 PM (ET) Email this Story JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The Jacksonville Jaguars traded kicker Seth Marler to the Dallas Cowboys on Friday for an undisclosed 2006 draft pick. The move comes two days after the Cowboys cut the injured Billy Cundiff, the team's kicker the last three seasons, who hurt his hip on the final full day of training camp. Along with Marler, the Cowboys also still have Jose Cortez, who is 4-for-4 kicking field goals in two preseason games this season. Marler spent all of last season on injured reserve with a quadriceps injury after hitting 20-of-33 field goals and all 30 extra points attempts during his rookie season with the Jaguars in 2003. Marler was originally signed by the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane.
redman
Marler was so impressive in 2003 that they drafted Josh Scobee.

HeHateMe
Marler was the worst kicker in the league...what a stupid trade. Funny, when we signed Cortez, he was the worst kicker in the league. Wonder if we signed Vinatieri.
Clinton Portis
Funny, when we signed Cortez, he was the worst kicker in the league. Wonder if we signed Vinatieri. No. Honestly. Marler WAS the worst kicker in the league statistically. He's 5/12 on 40-49 yards out. He was 20 of 33 overall. Those were the worse stats of any kicker in 2003.
