One Extreme Request for ExtremeSkins

These are truly wonderful times for Redskins fans. Redskins.com and ExtremeSkins have joined forces and are doing a wonderful job getting information and videos to us. I don't know, but is there a sports organization out there that provides their fan base with better access to information than the Skins organization? Probably not.

So, I was just thinking that, since the Redskins have been upgrading their information dissemination, why not suggest that coverage be obtained in the one area that currently is not being covered. Next to watching the actual game, my favorite side of football is watching and hearing what the coaches and players are doing on the sidelines during a game. Like NFL Films has done so successfully.

So, is there any chance that Extremeskins can get approval to cover the sidelines with video cameras between plays??? I think you guys already have access to the sidelines during the game, and most of the time there's nothing going on between plays. It really would be fun to see the players and coaches intermingle between plays, particularly after a big play. Of course, I understand how some information should remain secret and not be disclosed, but we've got some great characters on the team that would give us something really interesting to see and hear during the week between games. Now, that TOTAL ACCESS!!!

Am I asking for too much??

Have I become too greedy??

Say you guys will talk about it with the Skins!!!!

I can bring my camcorder. :notworthy

Heck, I can even do some video editing. :applause:

you won't see this. there is too much that goes on in terms of guys mentioning injury problems and coaches discussing particular plays and tendencies to have this info go public.

All of that can be edited out before dissemination.

Besides, I'd be happy to the video even with no audio.

I already have a camcorder & an editing program. :)

However, NFL rules state that no one other then team is allowed access to either team bench which runs from each 27 yard line.

So . . . the Redskins can do it, or authorize and/or hire someone to do it?

Coaches won't allow it. They do not want anyone other then team officials around them on the sideline.

NFL films can because its part of the business and they will edit out things that can be used against the Skins, but otherwise, no coach that I know of would allow anyone other then team to be on the sidelines.

We see it all the time on TV with CBS, NBC, ABC and ESPN, so it's not just NFL Films.

They take videos from behind the bench so as not to interfere with the team.

What I would really like to see is unedited video, up close and personal, of the plays and what happens in-between. The trash talking would be great. Imagine every player miked up, and a sideline cameraman catching all the action.

TK - you guys can do that, can't you?

Good question. Especially since I still have footage from mini camp that I'd love to be able to share with you guys.

All this would be nice but what I really want to see (and never really expect to, to be honest) is the game tape the team uses to break down the plays. To look at the same stuff Joe Gibbs and Co use to evaluate what happened would rock.

Tune into the NFL Network - they break down footage and show you tendencies of certain players that you'd otherwise never know of. For example - Big Ben only feels comfortable rolling out to his right. If the 'Skins can pressure him and make him roll left, he's much more likely to turn the ball over.

Just a little something for you guys to think of while watching the game.

I'd love to see real footage from the sidelines of the plays, esp after the whistle blows. On TV, all "real sounds" are muted for the talking heads. Nothing better than hearing all the hits as they occur. Clips would be fine. That would be TOTAL ACCESS

TK- Which editing program do you use? I work for a Video/audio post-production house where we run AVID and Final Cut Pro. Just curious. Have a good one.

I take it that anything in a Mini DV format wouldn't give you a problem uploading?

I'm beginning to think you and I share a lot in common.

When we were in negotiations with the Skins... we were given a full tour of Redskins Park.

And I have to say... the video editing room was my FAVORITE part of the whole experience.

If I ever work for the Skins... that's the job I want. I felt at "home".

The Redskins video editors take every single play... and break it down into a clip and archive it under a particular player's name. And then build a database of video on each player where they can bring up any run, pass, etc of you career with the Redskins.

Talk about a wet dream. I didn't want to leave that room.

And the footage... of the ENTIRE FIELD (coache's cam)... you see EVERYTHING. Truly is phenomenal.

It would be sweet to get something like that. Hmmm.... :)

It's nice to dream, but you're not going to see it anytime soon. And if you did see it, you can bet you'd have to hear Larry Michaels bringing the action to you.

I don't care if it's Larry Michaels, or even Lorne Michaels shooting from above!
