fuji869
thrown that interception to Tory James in the end zone and hit James Thrash for a TD the mood on this board would probably be very different. We would be talking about Patrick's solid performance in the second preseason game against the Bengles, how he lead the Skins on 2 TD Drives and looked good in the 2 minute drill. We would be praising his 200 yard 2 TD performance and would probably not be too worried about the other INT to James. Funny how one play changes the perspective on everything, as they say "Football is a game of inches"

dreamshatterer
No crap it would be different, but we react to what we saw, not what we hope for.
Om
To me it's not about the numbers in this case, it's about the decision-making. The pass in the end zone should simply never have been thrown. Or at WORST, it should have gone 5 rows up into the seats. It was first down, in the red zone, in a game we were leading and had all the momentum, at home, and trying to establish professionalism and consistency. That ANY starting NFL QB would loft that ball in like Pat did at that point goes to the heart of why so many are still concerned ... the question being that when the bullets are actually flying, is Pat fully engaged and processing info fast enough to lead a team week in and week out, or is the game still moving too fast for him? I've never hidden the fact I REALLY like this young man, and have been pulling for him big time. But very poor decisions in key spots continue to be a problem ... and until they STOP being a problem, the doubts are going to continue to be justified. It isn't that fact it is an INT it is the fact of where the INT was and how it killed the momentum in the game. Plus being on the lower level for much of the game I knew exactly were Ramsey was going to throw it, that is the problem.

Hooper
Ramsey drives me crazy, but Gibbs has to stick with him right now -- Wise's article in the post pretty much hits the nail on the head. My review of PR's game last night -- THE POSITIVES -- And the first one is huge. He actually went through his progressions. I couldn't believe it. He was finding wide open receivers. 50 percent of the time, he even connected with them. He looked more comfortable in the pocket. Not as comfortable as you would like, but more comfortable than last week, when it looked like they grabbed a fan out of the crowd, gave him a uniform and told him he was playing qb. Made a couple beautiful passes to Patten and Moss. THE NEGATIVES -- The few times he did face pressure, he panicked and locked in on one receiver -- though in his defense, he seemed to stop doing this as the game went on. His interception to Thrash in the back of the end zone was mystifyingly bad. Very reminiscent of the pick he threw in the Philly game last year -- like he made up his mind to throw the ball to one spot no matter what. To make matters worse, Patten was open for seven right in front of him. His second interception was brutal too and stemmed from something that... well, I think he's focusing almost too much on putting touch on the ball to appease the coaches. As a result, some balls are floating away from him. Hey Pat, when in doubt, grip it and rip it. Overall, I'd say he's our new 50/50. Hopefully the more comfortable he gets, the less he'll let the mental pressure get to him and he'll get those numbers to 70/30. If he doesn't, well I doubt Gibbs will wait too long to make a switch.
