JimmiJo
I'm done, I've seen enough. PR has a great arm, but he holds the ball too long, looks down his receiver, makes dumba** throws, and hears footsteps. Brunell' arm is 10 times better than last year and he is smarter. He sees the field better. He is more graceful in the pocket.
Clinton Portis
During the preseason and against 2nd Stringers? I truly think you guys have lost your mind. Give Ramsey some time. Why do you want to give him the boot so soon? He did alright tonight.

I admit he had a few great throws, but he makes bad decisions, and I'm not sure you can coach him to be smarter. The mistakes I see him making this year are much like when he cost us the Philly game last year at the end of the game. I want him to do well, and had high hopes. And maybe he can come around. But I think when you have a guy like Brunell, who is clearly much healthier than last year, a guy who has taken a team to the post-season and has been a pro-bowl QB and is playing well, then that's who you go with. Do you agree with me that his arm looks a lot better? He had the elbow a few years back, the hammy that we know of, and whatever else we weren't told. I saw him up close tonight and his accuracy, velocity, and poise are better than last year.
B.A.M.F.
Wind change direction again? Give PR into the reagular season before giving up, and I'm not convinced about Brunell either.

You know what, maybe Gibbs should step down at the same time - he obviously must be an idiot since he named Ramsey the starter - clearly he knows nothing about football and clearly these two preseason games are proof of how our offense is going to look in the regular season...........:logo:

I really have to say if Ramsey keeps playing like he's been smokin crak, then i would say throw Brunell in there and see if he's smokin crak or not. I'll tell you what I am convinced of and then you can have the thread, merge it, or whatever: Ramsey is not a top QB in this league, he is not even a top 20 QB. The question is can he become one. Maybe, but I doubt it.

Cuz he thought highly of Ramsey like you.
SkinsNatsFan
It doesn't matter a bit what the fans and the media think. Just as Williams made it very clear that he was calling the shots on defense, not the fans or media, Joe Gibbs is calling the shots on offense. He won't make the same blunt statements that Williams made, but you're not going to see Brunell as the starter to begin the regular season because Joe Gibbs has made Ramsey the starter. It's that simple. He's going to correct the interception problem of his starting quarterback. He's happy with the play of his backup quarterback and will be comfortable putting him in if there's an injury. He sees a bright future with his rookie quarterback, but he sees the field during the season only if both other quarterbacks are injured. He's got a starter. He's going to work with him and correct the mistakes.

The D has nothing to do with the throws. I don't know how you equate throwing to a guy who is covered in the end zone on 1st or second down when all you need do is throw it in the stands with being the result of 1st team D. Why would I get rid of Gibbs? He didn't draft PR. What he did do was go out and spend a bunch on his QB.

I am not saying that Ramsey is the answer for the future - I just think that he gives us our best chance to win now. Why did Gibbs name Ramsey the 05' starter if he was so in love with Brunell like you? It is to early IMHO to start calling for a QB change after two preseason games. That is all I am saying. terpfan
Ramsey was not horrible tonight. He was throwing deep every chance he got. You think that was an accident? Either Joe specifically told him to try to practice the long ball, or he was forcing it to try to please morons like the ones on this board who cry themselves to sleep if he's not Peyton Manning-like. He made a bunch of very nice throws tonight. That last two minute drive was very close to perfect. Can we at least give him more than TWO PRESEASON GAMES. Unbelievable. Agian, I am not trying to argue that PR is the greatest QB ever - just that he IMO gives us the best chance to win now and am not ready to bring in Brunell after two preseason games. You like Brunell more than Ramsey - fine. I still remember the games he (Brunell) started last year. What else did Gibbs do? He named PR the starting QB - and drafted for our future incase PR does'nt work out - Drafting a QB in the first round when there is a starter already in place does happen. GhostofAlvinWalton
Jimbo, did you even watch the game? I'm guessing no! Sat. night NFL network is replying the game at midnight EST 9pm PST. I suggest you watch because you obviously didn't watch Brunell last year vs 1st string defenders during the REAL season. Look both ways before you cross the street! I would like to see brunell get a preseason start just out of curiosity.
