herrmag
Originally posted by BD he was buried on the depth chart behind Coles, Gardner, Thrash, and even McCants A 2nd round pick who's only been in the league for two full seasons, who's barely had consistent time on the field because he's been the #4 receiver at best? BD How do these statements help your case? I'm not saying we should cut him, but really, these statements don't exactly shed a good light on Taylor's abilities.

Lets not forget his "nagging injurys" in Florida

Some of you are pushing the other extreme though talking this guy up a little much. Yes he is the best reciever on the field when its 7 on 7 with no pads. Fact is he has struggled with injury, bad luck or not they are injuries.
Gamebreaker
Originally posted by redman None of those receivers you listed except for Curtis had a tandem like Coles and Gardner in front of them either, and Curtis' career stat line is 36 434 12.1 2. Would it really have taken that much to unseat 50/50 as a starter?
redman
Originally posted by Gamebreaker Would it really have taken that much to unseat 50/50 as a starter? In 2003 when Jacobs was drafted, Gardner was coming off his best season, a season in which he exceeded 1000 yards receiving. Jacobs was injured that year and was effectively a rookie in a brand new system last year. So yeah, it would have been a little difficult to unseat the incumbent Gardner. But Jacobs has done what he could to impress including playing some mean special teams. It's silly to me that we gave a jerk like Westy 7 seasons and a stiff like Gardner 4 years, but God forbid we give a hard working guy like Jacobs more than two!
newarkredskinsfan
there was a post this week that said he might be out for a month. That he wont even start running until he can walk all day with out pain and they will go from there.
Leonard Washington
jacobs is the best wideout we got and that's sad.

As fans, most of us are rooting for him to put it all together and have a breakout season. However, considering his previous history as well as his current injury status, I believe that it's quite foolish to bestow high expectations upon a player who quite frankly, hasn't performed. Stan Hixon and Joe Gibbs have high expectations of Jacobs this year-- please do let them know how foolish they're being. They must be blinded by his 2nd round status...
