Monk4theHall81
As it turns out, Taylor Jacobs' injured toe is considerably worse than originally thought. What was going to be a one-week layoff due to a sprained toe, injured making a cut in the scrimmage in Baltimore, is now an that may stretch the regular season. The effects of that injury may spread throughout the roster.

Shotgunner
Let's ask Coles how long toe injuries last and how they can cripple a player.

RabidFan
We've already heard up to a month this week but also that Taylor is moving better and says he's ahead of schedule.

Funkyalligator
yeah definetly link the source because I certainly haven't heard that it is worse than originally thought....I believe that all our injured players are being given as much time as possible to come back from the injuries so other players can be looked at and I'm sure that this is the case here

A sprain is a sprain, a dislocation is a dislocation, regardless whether it's a toe, ankle, knee or whatever. I wouldn't want the guy coming back and taking a chance in a meaningless pre-season game. Let him heal it out.

skinsfan93
Man, this guy can't stay healthy...it's a shame. At this point, I can really see our 5 wideouts (maybe 6 b/c of Brown as a return guy) being: Moss Patten Thrash Dyson Brown Is there a chance that Jacob's is either put on IR or cut from the roster? bulldog
let's clarify this. Jacobs' toe injury is NOT akin to the turf toe/arthritic condition that Coles suffers from It is not the injury that caused Deion Sanders to have two operations and have a pin inserted in his toe. I wish people would go back and look at what kinds of injuries these players had, instead of merely identifying the spot on the body and correlating one injury with another on that basis. dreamshatterer
Jacob's should be put on IR and we keep Dyson and D Mac

redman
What bulldog said. As for the "typical Jacobs" garbage, dude had a ruptured spleen his rookie year. Does that make him injury prone?
bulldog
Jacobs blocked a punt and was one of the team's better coverage players on ST last year. He isn't going to be jettisoned by the coaches to be put on IR unless his injury is going to keep him out for an extended period and by that I am thinking the first 6-8 games Jacobs is also expected to contribute as the #3 receiver. Gibbs identified him as one of the players that improved the most as a result of his off-season work. Get serious, folks. Dyson is a nice story, but right now he is a 31 year old veteran trying to come back from a series of serious injuries that kept him out of much of the past 3 years. I am rooting for him to make a comeback and be on the roster, but I doubt the staff is expecting him to be a major contributor right away.
Beaudry
Apparently we are required to have at least one gimpy toed receiver on our roster. At least this one isn't costing us $5 million per year to hobble himself around the field.
Voice of Reason
As for the "typical Jacobs" garbage, dude had a ruptured spleen his rookie year. Does that make him injury prone? Yeah, it does. Unfortunately, it just looks like Jacobs is one of those guys that's always injured.
bulldog
so, Voice of Reason, by that logic you would have cut Michael Irvin back in 1990 because he was hurt in 1988 and 1989?
Gamebreaker
Come on, let's not pretend like Jacobs isn't injury prone. This guy is always getting hurt. I hope he can come back and contribute soon, but I'm no longer too optimistic of how long he'll be productive before he goes and gets injured all over again.
