Jacob's toe worse than originally thought

As it turns out, Taylor Jacobs' injured toe is considerably worse than originally thought. What was going to be a one-week layoff due to a sprained toe, injured making a cut in the scrimmage in Baltimore, is now an that may stretch the regular season. The effects of that injury may spread throughout the roster.

yeah definetly link the source because I certainly haven't heard that it is worse than originally thought....I believe that all our injured players are being given as much time as possible to come back from the injuries so other players can be looked at and I'm sure that this is the case here

They already said a few days ago he'd be out a few weeks. A sprain is a sprain, a dislocation is a dislocation, regardless whether it's a toe, ankle, knee or whatever. I wouldn't want the guy coming back and taking a chance in a meaningless pre-season game. Let him heal it out.

let's clarify this.

Jacobs' toe injury is NOT akin to the turf toe/arthritic condition that Coles suffers from :)

It is not the injury that caused Deion Sanders to have two operations and have a pin inserted in his toe.

I wish people would go back and look at what kinds of injuries these players had, instead of merely identifying the spot on the body and correlating one injury with another on that basis.

Jacobs blocked a punt and was one of the team's better coverage players on ST last year. He isn't going to be jettisoned by the coaches to be put on IR unless his injury is going to keep him out for an extended period and by that I am thinking the first 6-8 games :)

Jacobs is also expected to contribute as the #3 receiver. Gibbs identified him as one of the players that improved the most as a result of his off-season work.

Get serious, folks.

Dyson is a nice story, but right now he is a 31 year old veteran trying to come back from a series of serious injuries that kept him out of much of the past 3 years.

I am rooting for him to make a comeback and be on the roster, but I doubt the staff is expecting him to be a major contributor right away.

I wish people would calm down and realize when people are making a joke and not take everything so darn serious. :D
