Destino,

First I want to say that I agree with some of what you say. I get frustrated about how the GOP likes to regulate morals.

However, I personally feel that the income tax is the single largest restriction of freedom that the government imposes on the public. Every paycheck, quarter, and every April 15th I have to pay off the federal government. If I don’t, my wages will be garnished, my belongings will be seized, or I will be imprisoned. The income tax limits my freedom more than any other law. If you are so adamant about freedom, I’m wondering about your thoughts on taxes.

Also, when it comes to drug companies selling products or oil companies drilling... what are your thoughts about their freedom to do so as they see fit?

Simple;nominate a southern governor/senator/congressman- that's the only way they will win!

Since 1964- when the democrats won- they won with Southerners. Johnson was a former Texas Senator when he ran for his own full term. Carter was the former governor of GA and Clinton was governor of Arkansas!

quote:

Actually, you are misinformed, almost 2/3rds of the deficit was due to your second Lexus. Yes, the tax cuts for the rich is where 2/3rds of the deficit went, not to Iraq, nor the war but the cuts. Right now, Iraq has cost about $300 Billion where as the tax cuts were $1.4 trillion, you do the math.

Um....... we were at war, and diving into recession, and one of the things that got the economic motor fired and idling.... then reving up.... was the tax cuts to people WHO ACTUALLY PAY TAXES. Yes, people who are paying their taxes.....ALONG WITH OTHER PEOPLE'S TAXES.... because the Left thinks those people can afford to do so. You're obsession with my Lexus is scary.

Just bring up his boat.. heard it was so large Cathy Lee did a commercial for it ;)...

My thoughts on taxes? Simple they should be as low as we can stand. The problem is too many snake oil vendors in DC promise you the world and deliver the deficit. Tax cuts with out spending cuts are a ticking time bomb.

Personally I'd like to see Americans pay their taxes by writing a check each month. I think that alone would drop them because you'd feel the cost as opposed to the hidden structure we have now.

Drug companies are anti-american crooks. They play the patriotic game here but charge us, the tax payers that largely fund their damn research 10 times as much as they do everywhere else. A health care system that can only be accessed by the few is a sham, a sick joke. Allow free and fair export from foriegn drug companies and if that limits their captial for research, so be it.

As for oil companies, they can drill their @sses off in places that aren't parks. You don't get a second chance at untouched and I think that 400 years from now, untouched will be rare enough to justify us protecting it now. Besides there is no way with the groiwing demand that we'll ever get off our addiction for foriegn oil by digging here at home. The only choice is to find alternate sources, and we are working on it. No more urgency is needed in this aspect, just keep the research going until a solution is found.

We made it to the moon we challenged. We built the mother of all bombs when attacked. Now we have to solve the oil crisis because we are threatened. We can do it, because coming out on top is what we do best.

Liberty, I usually stay out of these threads... but I will say that I think you're a pretty smart kid, and I hope that as you actually begin to experience life on your own, you'll keep an open mind.

Ok, so now I see that the Dems didn't campaign enough in the South and Mid-west. And that they missed on issues that Southern are truly concerned about..............................what are the issues that Southerners are truly concerned about? Also how much campaigning do you need to see that Bush was not the man for the job. I'm still confused, honestly I would like some honesty. In five years our country has gone throough nothing but turbulent times under this administration. Before these past elections we were already loosing the war, our economy was still trying to pull itself out of the gutter, there was speculation about his credibility, and memebrs of his cabinet were leaving. But he still got elected. I sat hear and read how much people paid attention to Kerry and his Vietnam record. I sat here and actually condemned a man for standing up for what he beleived in. I sat here and read how Kerry flip flopped because he made descisions on issues with the same facts we had. I sat here and read how Clinton's action contributed to 9-11, and how the econoimy was going bust before Bush......lies lies lies. The South is suppose to be conservative, religious, good ole boys, spare me. I never partied as hard in my life in any other placce than the south, and the includes Virginia Beach, Biker weekend, Black College, weekend, Mardi Gras, do I have to go on. There's a lot of sinning going on. Maybe that's a reach but the South is far from godly. Conservatives are more in the North in my opinon. Those old rusty guys up in Westchester, and New England are the epitomy of conseravtives, and they let you know it. Nobody has addressed the race card, and to me that is were the truth lies. Since LBJ's statement there has been twice as many Republican presidents as Democratic. Is that a coincidence? How much energy did the Dem's nneded to spend for Southerners to see Bush was a bad commander in cheif? I still don't get it.

Confused is one way to put it.;)

If all Dems had this attitude the Repubs would continue to win.

Maybe if Repubs use logic once in a while, liberals wouldn't have to condescend so much, heck we might even consider you guys intellectual equals.

/jk :) cause you know that response can work both ways

Maybe if Democrats weren't so idealistic and didn't have their head in the clouds and stopped thinking with feelings and emotions they'd actually be alright

Jk ;) no doubt you're a smart kid

No

18 is arbitrary but it is fine place to draw the line.
