Nah man. You got it backwards.

The people I am addressing, who continually worship these players, THOSE are the people who need to come up with the evidence to back up their claims that these guys are super-stars.

Right. Calling folks out in a general way and/or pulling a booma and being contrarian. Instigating. ;)

Oh. And I'd say many of them have already stated why they think these players should be good players, ( I think it's safe to say that your use of the term super-stars is a bit of an exageration and maybe a little misplaced sarcasm), in countless other threads. Thinking kdawg has it right. You started the thread and made the list. Seems to me you should back some of that up too.

I'll play.

This is why these players are put on pedestals.

Antonio Brown-waiver wire pick up at the end of the season. Was out of football and had a compelling personal story. Got a chance with the Skins and wowed the Redskins with his speed and had several nice returns...and one fumble...in limited time. Is much cheaper than the previous return guy we had and at the end of the season when interviewed, he was humble and very thankful to the Redskins for giving him an opportunity to play.

Robert McCune-a mature player who played at a high level in college. Again, a compelling personal story that makes it easy to root for the guy. We have an opening in the middle and on the surface, he looks like he might fit in. Him being placed on a pedestal is no different than any fan does this time of year with draft picks. I remember people going ga ga for Brad Banks a few years ago...until training camp...it's natural.

Taylor Jacobs-former 2nd round pick who has shown flashes. When teammates talk about the best route runner in practice over the course of the last two years...it wasn't Coles...it wasn't Gardner...it was Jacobs. He swallowed his pride and excelled on ST including blocking a punt in Detroit. McCants can't/won't do this and he was a 5th round pick. Jacobs' attitude is refreashing after the heavy dose of Coles/Gardner/McCants attitude that we've had to stomach this past season.

Chris Cooley-2nd round pick who came in and led the team in TD receptions. As a rookie he had the best season by a Joe Gibbs Hback since Clint Didier in 1985/1986 and this was on a team that at times was passer-challenged. Better production from Cooley than Winslow who was a player we were thinking of taking with the 5th pick.

Rock Cartright-7th round pick who was a long shot from day one to make the team. He fought his way into playing time late in 2002....provided some nice performances in 2003. When Gibbs comes back everyone (except a very famous Blonde;) ) thought Rock's time in DC was over. With guts and determination plus dealing with the loss of his mother, he makes the team and is a solid ST contributor.

In my opinion, these are the guys who should be on pedestals. I for one am glad that the Redskins have these kind of players to root for and even look up to. Imagine if you were stuck being a fan of a team like the Ravens.

we had one real overrated player, and he was cut yesterday! Had to give up a 5th rounder for him, and if McCune pans out the way we hope, a 5th rounder does mean something.

Samuels should be on the list as well, for reasons previously mentioned.

Lavar has actually done well in consecutive seasons, he may be pushing the overrated line, but he has also proven for at least 2 consecutive seasons he is the on-field plamaker worth the 2nd pick overall.

Taylor, yeh...

No other player really stands out, though a few push it.

What are we gonna do about our 6-10 record, nothing, we cant. The coaches and players can, and we have a core of players now who want to make it work.

First off, I'm not saying that these players suck, by any means.

They are just not worthy of the pedestal that so many fans place them on.

Antonio Brown

Robert McCune

Taylor Jacobs

Chris Cooley

Rock Cartwright

Cooley had the best rookie season of ALL TE's drafted last year including KW2 and I have seen no mention of that from the media anywhere. so I don't think we're over-rating him we are just giving credit where credit is due.

Excellent post! These players should be on pedestals, as players who are TRUE Redskins!

BTW, Cooley was a 3rd round pick ;)

based on the lack of a quality contribution from you, in several other threads you posted in, including this one, I think you came up with just about a 0.00 rating, which is a hell of a lot worse than being an 'over-rated' poster, and at least HAVING a rating like myself :2cents:

That was exactly my point, Mr T.

Let's let the coaches decide who's the best player, rather than prematurely pronouncing these guys as world-beaters.

Gee Mr T, I bet you're absolutely horrified that you and I actually agreed on something, eh ?

I'm guessing that was from the "I know you are, but what am I?" school!

Posted more ? Maybe

Posted Constantly ? Not at all.

Quantity does not equal continuous posting.

If you were as smart as you think you are, you would have noticed there was a long gap in between my posts this weekend

Besides if you want to gripe about who posts more, just compare your average posts per day to mine, Mr "8.37 posts per day"
