Report: Josh Norman being shopped by Redskins

Skins shopping Josh Norman which I find HI-LAR-I-OUS! Why this is hilarious to me is because the idiots that run this team refuse to trade its one and most valuable asset in Trent WIlliams. But now, after witnessing an unprecedented wave of nearing-the-trade-deadline activity by other teams, Allen, Snyder and the suits don't want to appear uninvolved, disinterested, or perhaps most accurately described as fearful that the media in the near future will suggest that the Skins once again are "behind the times" in recognizing that the NFL is now more trade-friendly in season than it used to be. So those clever suits will trade an asset nobody even really wants, in part, I suspect so that Bruce Allen can answer the question in February with "well, we did move Josh Norman". This isn't about making their team better. This whole cherade is the equivalent of the neighborhood-wide garage sale that you participate in just so the neighbors don't think you're not social and you setup in your driveway with a table that has one item on it: an ugly lamp that doesn't work. https://redskinswire.usatoday.com/2019/10/27/redskins-shopping-josh-norman-nfl-trade-deadline/

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

No, I dont know what you mean. I asked a simple question. What does he have to do? You said "win a game that matters". He played in washington for most of his starts to this point. washington is arguably the worst professional sports team in all of the 4 major professional sports. I am not eliminating everything Cousins did in Washington to say he can only be defined by a game or two per season. Because he PLAYED in WASHINGTON. Where Hall of Fame coaches are losers. Where super bowl winning coaches are losers. Where heisman trophy winning cant miWRITE THIS DOWN IN YOUR NOTEBOOK: The 4th ROUND DRAFT PICK KIRK COUSINS WAS AN OVERACHIEVER BY SURVIVING THIS GARBAGE FRANCHISE AND BEING THE #1 REASON FOR THEM EVEN BEING COMPETENT during his starting tenure.ss players are losers. PS You still never actually answered the question. Which is ON PURPOSE. I know. I know this tactic. It's what everybody does online. Nobody wants to commit themselves to an actual defined answer for fear that the guy (cousins in this case) lives up to expectations (as I know he will) and then you'll be wrong. TO avoid that, you make general statements like "just win a game that matters..." which is a bogus way of answering the question. when i point out reasons why his time in washington was actually successful (above), you need a new strategy. I'm going to assume you mean take the vikings to another level. He needs to get them into the playoffs and he needs to at least win a game in the playoffs if not two, right? There - I'll answer it for you. Unless you have a different answer...... you lost baby. bye felicia. next time, answer the questions. then you have a shot against me.

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

let me know when you're ready to show off those debate skills, sweetie. Particularly, since one of the questions I posed to you has no possibility of being answered in your little "plan" in some comment somewhere, which of course you won't address. I won.

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

that's a lazy response. So, let kirk walk as in not try to trade him beforehand? And no effort to replicate this production yet he sits 31 other teams have QBs ranked lower than he. Obviously, several are better than Cousins. But many are not, especially any who have played in DC, including that fella Case who you mentioned recently. The Skins have had much effort to replicate it, and they havent. So you're wrong there.

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

once. instead of sending me on a wild goose chase through a thread, you can just simply answer the questions right here, right now, so I get notified and I dont have to waste more time finding your responses. I know, that's a tough and unfair concept to make you respond directly to the specific questions I asked and not your "plan" somewhere hidden in this thread that may or may not answer the specific questions. your claims of debate skills over me are unfounded. i cant even get you to do simply reply and comment.

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

hey, at least you're willing to attempt to answer the question unlike master debater boy. But, your answer.....win a game when it counts. That's it? Like, win 1 game when it counts and then you'll admit you were completely wrong on Cousins? Really?! That's it? Like, how are you going to define "a game when it counts". A regular season game against a better opponent? A game to get into the playoffs? A single playoff game? Does he have to win the Super Bowl this year to say maybe we should not have gone the alex smith (for almost the same amount of money!) , followed by these others guys after Smith's injury. Lets just define the terms. And there's a second question you missed but at least as of this response you got more debate skills than the volunteer.

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

ok, master debater, lol, you can start by answering the 2 questions you conveniently have by-passed. what, the ben shapiro school of debating didnt teach you fanboys to address all questions before making claims of debate skills? Hahaha.

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!! Ok, sweetie. This ain't my first rodeo. the picture below is the picture of me being frightened at your claim here online. Which is one I may have heard a time or two for 20 + years. LOL, you're fun.

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

thats what I thought. You've got nothing, including answers to my two simple questions above. Probably because of fear.

because football is a team game, not a single player game like tennis.

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

wow, what I would say in response to this crap would get me kicked off so I have just two questions for you: 1 . what does Kirk Cousins have to do where you would say "I was wrong" ? 2. what was YOUR plan for the QB position in Washington then? Let him go and go get WHO in the draft or in FA?

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

i saw the best QB they've had in 20 years and no one was close.

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

yep, when they're selling they get pennies on the dollar. and when they're buying (which is more frequently) they get fleeced by Andy Reid who has a picture of Bruce Allen on his nightstand. i saw all 3 seasons. I cancelled my all22 when they didnt resign Cousins. Which was a good decision because since his record breaking passing seasons in DC, the team cant even field a forward passing offense anymore, including that bum Alex Smith.

Serious Question: Do you regret letting Cousins go?

yes. We never saw Cousins be the starter with Mike Shanahan the head coach for a season. Or, if today Cousins was the QB and McVay was the Head Coach - I would sign up for that in one minute flat. I've always been a believer in Cousins, since 2012. Most of the people here who are glad he's gone probably never saw Mark Rypien play QB here in 89-90, when he was seen as a shy, mistake prone, nervous nelly but with a penchant for the long ball. he was booed in washington at times leading into 1991. Cousins of today reminds me of the 1990 Mark Rypien. All Rypien was a better team around him and he could do it. I knew it about Rypien and I know it about Cousins now. Yeah, COusins didnt win in Washington. You know who else didn't win in washington under Snyder? EVERYBODY!!!! Give me the quiet, respectable Cousins (who's #1 in QBR in the NFL right now) along with McVay vs the absolute DOG CRAP that is this team now with this loser crap talker QB they drafted (league done wrong) moron.
  15. a good car mechanic doesn't need to spend days, weeks, or months with your car to tell you it's salvageable. A good car mechanic can tell you quickly to junk it and get a new one. Consider this: At some point they'll turn to Haskins. He starts several games. In those several games, maybe there's a game or two where statisically it looks good. maybe he puts up a Patrick Ramsey vs the Giants in 2004 type performance (19-22, 3tds). This is not impossible. Or improbable. Even bad QBs can have a game or two like this. Many a bad NFL QB have done this. It's called the anomaly. Nobody in America wants Dwayne Haskins to succeed more than Dan Snyder. It's his draft pick. A couple of nice games to close out nowhere bound season could buoy the confidence of Snyder and even the less informed fans to say "yeah, lets build around this kid". And that idea could bury the Redskins for ANOTHER half decade! I havent studied this years crop of QBs like I did last year's (which included Haskins) but I hear some are good and washington would be in position to take one, currently. If they miss out on a transformative QB because they MISREAD a couple of performances late in the season and put too much stock into it, enough to forgo a proper rebuild , starting QB first, to hitch their wagon to a guy I know today is not the answer...........well, whether you accept this or not, Gruden before him and Callahan now could be knowingly or perhaps unknowingly giving the franchise a fighting chance for its future by delaying the transition to Haskins as late as possible. Because if he starts a bunch down this stretch, has a couple (2 maybe 3) statisically "good" games, this very well could excite the guy who desperately wants HIS QB pick to be the pick that launches the success of his team.....only for the truth to reveal itself to snyder as it has so many times before........when its too late, in 2020. I'm all for Keenum starting as long as possible. Because I'd rather the team go into 2020 feeling like they need a QB and not delusional feeling like a game or two down the stretch by their rookie means they dont need one. (of course, these clowns also want alex smith back on the field in '20, too.) as my tag below stats, whatever the wrong decision is, I'm sure thats what GM Snyder will do.
  16. BoycottEuphemisticFans

!!!!0mgz!!!! Trent Williams finally showed up

and this is why I don't understand Dan Snyder. This is a FIREABLE offense. Other GMs, who reign over other losing programs, when they make a timing mistake like this - they get fired. This is Bruce Allen's second unforgivable, fireable offense in 2 years. First there was Kirk Cousins. A QB who, going into 2017, his Owner, Snyder, described him as a "franchise QB" and "we don't have to worry about the QB position". And to lose your "franchise QB" (according to Allen's Boss) for nothing - that never happens in this sport, EVER! not even in San Diego with Brees (a different situation, injury). if Snyder really felt that way about Cousins (franchise QB) and Allen lost him - then one would suspect Snyder not only would have fired Allen on the spot - he might have murdered him, too. And now, in real time, Allen is once again, ruining leverage and assets of Snyder's business with this Williams fiasco. A SECOND fireable offense. And this doesnt even begin to cover his overall record as a GM. So this for me is about Snyder. WHAT. IN. THE. HELL. IS. HE. THINKING. WITH. BRUCE. ALLEN. My only guess is Allen's non other duties are so far more important to Snyder that he doesnt mind these football related disasters that he creates.

    Next Coach?

My guess is they are going to go all out for Urban Meyer. And the only thing that will stop them is Urban himself. However, smart people with good football instincts in the past have been lured by Snyder's $$ (Schottenheimer, Gibbs, and Shanahan). They want Meyer because Bruce Allen has probably already made his large vision pitch to Daniel Snyder for 2020. And Snyder likes it. And that's why Bruce Allen is still here and if they get Urban Meyer he will stay here. With Meyer recently saying he would coach in the NFL (Dallas), this has probably got Dan at full attention. Also, note the time period. Whenever washington has been at its extreme low moments, that is when the team hires a major name (not an assistant coach). after 2003 came Joe Gibbs and after 2009 came Shanahan. After 2007, by the way, was NOT a low moment and that's when you get the low marketing appeal guy like a Jim Zorn. They are in a high marketing situation now. Which means expect a big name like Meyer. The pitch from Bruce to Snyder goes like this, in Bruce's voice: 1. " This is washington, dc and we are the redskins and we need somebody to get the fans riled up for. Kevin Oconnell doesnt do it, Bill Callahan certainly doesnt do it, and either does any assistant coach in the league or soon-to-be fired head coach. But Urban Meyer does." Dan loves that stuff. Dan gets excited for shiny objects. And Urban Meyer is a shiny object that he can sell. He cant market Freddie Kitchens, for example, Kevin Sheehan. 2. A big part of Bruce's pitch to Dan is actually Alex Smith. Read the tea leaves. There is a reason why this team will not trade any player of value. They will dump Josh Norman if they can because they know they are cutting him in the offseason. Bruce has always thought that 2018 6-3 (what would have been 6-4 start) with Alex was better than it was. Us smart people know it was actually worse than what it was. Part of Bruce's overall vision for the Skins is Alex Smith. Bruce wants Alex Smith QB'ing the Redskins in 2020 and there's already rumors along with video to support this. Bruce thinks if he can keep most of the parts together for 2020 and bring back Alex, they can get back to being a playoff contender. (I, of course, think this is an absurd idea). And who once upon a time coached Alex Smith to great college success? Urban Meyer. 3. The other part of Bruce's big plan is they will say to each other Dwayne is a long-term project. Let's get his college coach here and a mentor like Alex Smith back in the lineup. Dwayne can take extra time (another year) to learn and have a big believer in him in his coach, Meyer. This whole plan, is of course, the plan of idiots. And that's why I know it's what they are thinking. Only thing stopping it is USC and Urban Meyer himself but Snyder will attempt to outbid the college and give Meyer the type of control he once gave Shanahan (which seemed like a lot at the time until it wasnt).

Welcome to the NFL Dwayne Haskins QB Ohio State

he's not a bust. he's not a bust when you look at his college body of work, as I did, and considered him nothing more than a 5th round talent. we'll see if he proves me wrong in a year or two or three. Spoiler alert: he won't.

Report: Josh Norman being shopped by Redskins

disagree. he has ZERO value to the redskins in 2021, 2022 or whatever year they could start to compete for something other than last place if everything fell right for them in the meantime.

Why starting Haskins the rest of the way could ruin Skins future

I just wanted to reiterate my opinion on this subject again so that in 1-2 years from now when I'm telling people 'told you so' this is what I will be pointing to. 1. I don't care who plays QB the rest of the year. Keenum, Colt, or Haskins. Makes no difference to me. 2. The reason why seeing Haskins play now, for me, doesn't matter is because I already made up my mind on the guy based on his college performance. NOT THE HANDFUL OF MINUTES HE'S PLAYED SO FAR IN THE NFL THAT SOME REPLIES HAVE SUGGESTED. For the same reason why I wouldn't need to see YOU start a few games at QB or (as a PSU fan) Christian Hackenberg or Zach Mills. Because I ALREADY KNOW Haskins is NOT CAPABLE of being an NFL caliber QB. Btw, MOST QBS WHO PLAY COLLEGE FOOTBALL ARE NOT NFL CALIBER!!!!! So, it's not like singling the guy out. MOST CANNOT PLAY NFL Football. And again, this is simply my opinion on Haskins having watched his college games extremely closely. And so if you have that opinion as I do, but the team decides to play him for a bunch of games down the stretch, what I fear is this incapable player actually looks good for a game, maybe two. THe NFL has had many BAD QBs look decent in a game or two. And if that happens, a TERRIBLE QB SCOUT who's personally invested in the decision to take Haskins, Dan Snyder, might look at those games and say to the rest of the organization, "he's gonna be good, let's use the upcoming draft to build around him". I havent looked at the popular QBs in 2020's draft but I have heard anyway there are a few potential good ones. And if the Redskins bypass taking one, which could be the difference maker the team needs to get out of the gutter, because THEIR OWNER is deciding once again what to do at that all-important QB position, then that's the script neccessary to ensure and prolong the redskins continued failure.

Report: Josh Norman being shopped by Redskins

and now there's reports that teams (colts, ravens) have inquired about Ryan Kerrigan and the team is saying he's off limits. This, of course, validates everybody's opinion here that they might dump their trash (norman) to appear involved, but remained clueless to their own position in the NFL when it comes to players that might have some decent value (kerrigan, t. williams) In other words, talk (from B. Allen once a year) is cheap. Actions speak louder than words and this organization continues to prove that either 1. They are too stupid to realize where they are as an organization now and in the immediate future 2. They have no interest whatsoever in building a future winner https://www.hogshaven.com/2019/10/27/20934641/nfl-trade-rumors-ravens-and-colts-are-interested-in-ryan-kerrigan-redskins-arent-selling https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/redskins/redskins-are-reportedly-not-acting-normal-team-ahead-nfl-trade-deadline

Is it time to go Nuclear on Snyder???

a recent (2 yrs old) under the radar interview with Dan Snyder. Of course, the interviewer is a friend (Thiesmann) but there are some redskin questions that are asked here. you'll hear him say "we're getting closer and closer". the problem with him and his security guard/VP of Football Ops is that they are ALWAYS SELLING YOU. Then can never stop with their MARKETING PITCH. Just have a regular conversation, you don't have to sell your program every second you talk. You're not even there in this interview to sell tickets, you're there as a Notre Dame parent. But these guys CANNOT STOP SELLING THEMSELVES. AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM. On the other hand, it is interesting and perhaps eye-opening to see Snyder in 2017 refer to Cousins as a franchise QB and one where they dont have to look at the position which makes one wonder if Snyder how Snyder could feel now if he's being true then that he entrusted his security guard to keep his franchise QB here and it instead his security guard / Vp of Football Ops low balled the guy, purposely misprounced his name and that guy currently is the #1 rated passer in the NFL while washington has had a pile of dung play the position since.
