We have zero championships because we've never been able to score points in the Snyder era. Never. Besides 2012 we've hardly cracked the top 10 in yards/points. (Cousins had a few years where we were top 5 in yards)

The reality is we don't have a starting QB next season.

How the hell can you win in the NFL with no starting QB? We're not smarter then everyone else by finding Kyle Allen's and Heinicke's. Allen just got out of his walking boot a few days ago and Heinicke seperated his shoulder in 1 start. (not a knock on these guys, they can win games in the short term and i hope we keep both)

We have the 19th pick. That means the 4th or 5th QB on our boards. (if we're lucky)

If you have a chance to upgrade at QB you do it. IMO trading the farm for Watson is a mistake and not even possible. But a 1st and 3rd for Stafford is a deal.

Very good chance they could do a big trade up in the draft too (for Wilson/Lance/Fields)

No chance in the world, they just one upped him with Hurney's title and interviewed a guy below him for GM, while he didn't get an interview himself.  The writing is on the wall.  Hopefully, they aren't holding out to make him quit vs. just letting him go.  All signs point to something personal here, what - who knows.

Hurney isn’t in charge of personnel so they don’t have the same role

  3. How many times do people who know how the league works in 2021 have to explain to you the value of a franchise QB?

These are the final 8 QBs playing this year: Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Jared Goff. All of them are at least top 20 and the 4 remaining were solidified top 10 QBs this year. You’re absolutely delusional if you think that rolling with one legged Alex Smith and/or backup-caliber guys is a good idea when we have a lot of cheap young talent that won’t stay cheap. Like you’re just flat out wrong. If you’re tired of being 6-10/7-9 every year then you’ll understand why they need to be aggressive in getting at least a good QB this offseason, whether it’s a vet or one of the top rookies.

    Detroit beat us

We beat Pittsburgh and I don’t think anyone would argue we’re better than them.

I'd bet aggressive ends up with a more modest conquest like Ryan Fitzpatrick

You literally might as well roll with Heinicke in that case. Fitzpatrick and QBs of that caliber don’t get you anywhere.

We have a (possible) newly found diamond in the rough with Shiny Hiney and peeps on here still want to sacrifice all of our assets on one position. It's like they never learn that football is a team sport. Gaping holes on the roster with Stafford on board will get you the same number of playoff wins he had over the past 8 years and then no assets to use to fill those holes.

Because Heinicke has played one game and isn’t remotely the same QB that Stafford is. Once teams figure out how to scheme against Taylor you’ll see why he isn’t a starting QB.

Like Stafford or Desuan Watson? They're the two biggest names I've heard so far.  Can we even talk to them while they're still in the playoffs? You can't make hay once you've sold the farm

We have a way better overall team than Detroit or Houston. Now is the time to go all in and try to compete.

Wait?? Are you implying that we don't? As if there are many other holes to fill on this team with draft capital and salary??  Hmmmm. What are good ways to prevent overspending money and draft picks???

You missed the point. Having a top tier QB compensates for having holes at some positions. No team is going to be able to be set at every position, not even close. The only way to stay a contender in the modern NFL is to have a franchise QB.

I think you don’t know my position that I’d prefer trading up in the draft to any other option.

“A lot of you don’t get”

Problem is a lot of users here are okay with Kyle Allen and Taylor Heinicke being starting options as if we have elite players at every other position to support them.

Even when I agree with you... you want to be argumentative. I will continue to disagree in all future exchanges.

Because a lot of you don't get why there's so much talk about getting a guy like Watson, Dak, Stafford, or trading up in the draft. It's a QB driven league more than anything.

I think Dak's chances of hitting FA are even lower than Watson's chances of getting traded.

The chances of Watson getting traded are high so idk if that says much lol

He's one of the only big names I really would be okay with. His cap hit will probably be a bit... much...

But not giving up assets to get him is high end good news to me.

I mean sorry to say this but good QBs don't come cheap. If we want to ever contend we need to take a risk either in cap or picks to get a franchise guy. You won't get far otherwise.

    You must be new here.

@thesubmittedone has spent more time researching this subject than anyone here.  He’s laid all this stuff out, well before Ron Rivera showed up.  I’d ask him to point you to the findings he’s shared with the board in the past, but I doubt you could read, digest and understand it all.

Oh yes I’m sure some expert would be posting on a public forum rather than working in the media or for the league.
