With him not directly being implicated he's probably safe. What's worse than these accusations is that he's only 55 years old. We probably have another ~20 years of him, so buckle in.

What opponent NFCE QB doesn't have a winning record against us over the past 15-20 years? To focus on Eli he is a HOFer, so I'm good with it. I mean, to start that many games, actually play better in the playoffs and to have won 2 Superbowls? That's a pretty insane resume. Compare his regular and post season stats with Aikmen while knowing Troy played on a dynasty. Eli did not.

Great pick in terms of value and upside. I'm getting pretty pumped for the season!

We'll the side issue with the receiving crops is Alex Smith just hasn't ever made a WR look better than they really are. If you think of the elite guys they all take average WRs and make them look great. In Smith's entire career he's never done that. I think he's had WRs do well, but those were always individually talented guys like Hill, Crabtree and Maclin, but they never had their 'big season' with catching passes from Smith. IMO Kirk could sort of do that, which makes this entire corp look worse. Anyway, unless something changes there will be some dark days ahead.

Officiating across the board has been really bad for all teams. I think the NFL has done a poor job at undermining officials while the rules have adjusted to have them call more things. As a quick example how can a ref now put special emphasis on WRs taking head shots without their eyes gravitating to watching the head on other plays? I'd also say every single fan of a team feels their team gets caught on questionable calls more than the opponent. It's just the way being a fan works. It's so tough to be impartial/objective when you are really hoping for a specific outcome. Anyway, I'm not against bad calls, because the game has so many moving parts they are bound to happen, but I'd like the bad calls to go both ways. In this environment I'm actually all for a 'make up' call every now and then. It just helps balance things out when one teams begins to get an advantage.
