Why is it a foregone conclusion that Brissett is going to come in and win games? He was 4-7 with the Browns who had a much better roster than we have right now.

We all know what Brissett brings, are you being serious ?
Would you rather they start Howell the last two games to see him struggle and get benched for four consecutive weeks?

When your quarterback sucks, you bench them. I have no issues with this move. In a perfect world, Fromm would start the final two games. But I am curious to see Brissett under 4 full quarters when a team game plans for him.

Almost the one year anniversary of this disaster that should have gotten Rivera fired last year. Would be hilarious if Brissett is announced as the starter and has a game as bad as Wince did against Cleveland.

Remember:
-Snyder is gone.
-Rivera and all of his staff are gone in two weeks.
-We've got an answer as to whether or not Howell is the QB going forward.
-We currently have the #3 pick in the draft.
-Starting Jacoby Brissett the last two weeks will shut up the "Jacoby would have taken this team to the playoffs" loud minority.
This season cannot end fast enough, but there is optimism on the horizon.

Rivera didn't change the culture here. He changed the perception of the culture. Harris buying the team changed the culture.

I guess Ron has now decided to have Brissett's physical and mental health irretrievably destroyed...
I wished I knew what Ron was attempting here. He knows his time is up and there is nothing to play for unless suddenly now he feels for Sam.
????
What are you talking about here?

Damn, when was this?
I shouldn’t be surprised, but damn.

Ron Rivera really thought they found their guy in Carson Wentz and said as much repeatedly after they drafted Howell. They drafted Howell to be a developmental backup. In a last ditch effort to save his job he did a 180 and said he was a potential franchise quarterback. Which he again just did a 180 on by saying if the playoffs were on the line, they would probably start Brissett.

To what, Howell if you like Brisket?
That works for me.

Sad news, Sam has dropped to 4th in passing yards.
Also 22nd in QBR behind Fields now.

If week by week, we were flooded by screen shots and cut-ups of Howell clearly missing on positive opportunities, most would be singing a different tune. The offensive tape primarily offers indictments on the playcalling, and lack of OL talent/coaching.
I think the latest pick six was on play calling/scheme, because the Dolphins LB basically said he saw Wylie move to pass protect a screen instantly and knew where the ball was going to be. I wonder how many of his turnovers are on the scheme and compared to bad decisions/throws by Howell.

At the end of the day, I don’t see his move here as a lateral move considering he never called plays and given what we’ve seen, it’s fair to question what he actually contributed to KC’s offense.
Riddick wasn't the only one banging that drum. It was Kansas City's worst kept secret. Everyone (outside of some Bieniemy truthers on social media) knew that Reid and Mahomes were the reason for Kansas City's success on offense. But you had people in the media like Riddick practically having aneurisms week in and week out about what more did Bieniemy have to do to become a head coach since he's proven himself in Kansas City.

People actually want to hire him as the next GM.

It won't, but this should end the EB as HC narrative.
Howell will be the scapegoat for this narrative to continue. And it will.

The recent success of Jordan Love makes me hopeful that you can't give up on Howell just yet.
Jordan Love was a 1st round pick. They generally get more rope. This year is the audition for Howell to prove he is worth building around. There's still 4 games left but it ain't looking good. The new GM should not be tied down to developing Howell.

What more does Eric Bieniemy have to do to get a head coaching opportunity?!?!?!

Seems like there is hope for this fan base after all.

Annoys me that the conversation around EB is simplified to being about his “style” and personality with the players. Nobody in the media will talk about how bad/mediocre he’s been at his actual job and why THAT disqualifies him. If he didn’t have preexisting inertia from previous offseasons being an alleged HC candidate, it wouldn’t even be in question. But people bring his name up like it’s normal.
Read the replies to any of Grant's tweets about this. 98% of the replies are people calling the players "soft". The very vocal minority of this fanbase still thinks Bieniemy is a success and that a hard ass coach is what this team needs. Brian Mitchell and Doc Walker are on that same train. It's absolutely baffling to me. There is no real discernable difference from Scott Turner other than instead of running the ball they are just throwing it more. Which also leads me to another point I had thought about: because of the pass heavy offense, naturally you are going to get pass heavy stats. Which is why Howell leads the league in attempts and passing yards. But his negative numbers like turnovers are also a product of being in a pass heavy offense. With some semblance of a competent play caller there would be more balance with passing and rushing. And I think some of the negative numbers he has would go down.
