  1. Goff had 3 years of college experience before being drafted in the NFL. He was more pro-ready than Haskins was.
  2. I honestly think if Haskins was drafted to a team like the Chargers, he absolutely would have a decent NFL career. The odds for him being a bust rise dramatically because of the team that drafted him. And that is not his fault.
  3. In Keenum's defense, he's been the best QB on this roster and I'd be pissed off too if I got benched for a rookie who is nowhere near ready and for a guy who is now 7-21 as a starter in the NFL.
  4. Clearly Josh Norman is only out to sabotage Haskins career because he didn't want him on the team.
  5. This is like 2011 all over again, but in this scenario we potentially have Christian Ponder as the 3rd QB.
  6. I am on board with this and have wanted to Haskins start at the beginning of the year. However, if he doesn't play any significant time this year, that tells me that he is nowhere close to being a 1st round talent, and that Snyder (yet again) wasted a 1st round pick on a massive project QB without any real direction for his development.
  7. It was so funny seeing how many members of the media, both local and national, who were legitimately shocked when Callahan said Haskins might be the 3rd stringer and may be inactive for some games. Like they really bought into this nonsense that Gruden was going out of his way to shun this kid because he wanted Daniel Jones...who was taken by the Giants 9 picks before the Redskins. Callahan being non-committal on when Haskins would start should scare the hell out of every fan.
  8. A few pages back you hinted at hearing something about Haskins that you didn't want to share until the press conferences. Do you mind sharing it now?

    The Bruce Allen/GM Thread

I had no idea that a reporter who contributed to that Scot McCloughan story in the post was previously employed in Tampa Bay. Is there any doubt as to who the anonymous "team official" was?

Is it time to go Nuclear on Snyder???

The only way to go full blown nuclear on Snyder is to just stop being a fan of this garbage team and pick another one. I know several people who have either done this or are seriously considering doing so. The Ravens aren't that far away and they are a much better ran organization.
  11. This is what is legitimately baffling about the fans reaction to these recent reports of him being a huge project. Why are people so scared to see him play? Are they afraid that he's going to be a bust? The #1 red flag about Haskins is the fact that Snyder meddled and picked him. And that is not on Haskins.
  12. Gruden will get a job as an OC somewhere. His passing schemes were good. I'm actually amazed that Spurrier, Zorn, and Shanahan all have the same winning percentage as head coach of this team. And Jay Gruden and Gibbs aren't too far apart from win percentage either. I'm just spitballing here...but maybe it isn't the head coach that's the problem.
  13. I was thinking that this team is a 4-12 or 5-11 at best team, and that it would be so Redskins that we actually eek out 4 or 5 wins this year to screw up our draft position. But then I checked out the schedule. Honestly, aside from the Dolphins and Jets, there isn't a team on the schedule that I could see us realistically beating.
  14. I am 100% in the camp of starting him the rest of the year and then Josh Rosen him in the offseason if he's not showing any real signs of progress. If Bruce Allen is gone, I'd rather the new GM pick a QB of their choosing. Hell, even if Haskins doesn't see the field at all this year, I'd still be okay with them drafting another QB next year.
  15. I don't think fans would turn on him, even if he sucked. They didn't do it with Campbell until year 3 or 4. Griffin was "turned on" by fans because of the behind the scenes stories and leaks, as well as the holier than thou attitude he displayed. Haskins has not come across as self-indulgent like Griffin. I think fans recognize the reality of the situation and would be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. And I think the anger would be more directed at Allen/Snyder for meddling and drafting a QB who clearly is a massive project in the first round.
  16. Virtually every former player (Smoot, Springs, Cooley, Portis, Hall) who is still somewhat associated with the team has came out and said Haskins should sit for either the majority or all of the season. Smoot, Springs, and Portis bang the drum that if they start Haskins now, the "fans will turn on him". Meaning he will suck. Badly. And that's why they don't want him to play. Which is mind boggling to me. He was taken 15th overall. Either the Skins "done messed up" and shouldn't have drafted him, OR he's so soft that starting in his rookie season would damage his psyche.

    The Bruce Allen/GM Thread

"Damn good culture" Unbelievable. I really have nothing else to say other than the #FIREBRUCEALLEN thing ain't working...not showing up to games ain't either...so the only other option is to pick another team to root for.

Twitter: Raw Video of Intoxicated Jay Gruden Leaks

    This is Gruden's Alamo moment.
  19. Gruden's boss repeatedly said that this team was "close" and ready to "win now"...and then they draft a QB who clearly isn't anywhere close to being ready to help the team win now, so Gruden goes and plays the QB who isn't good, but ready and has proven that you can win with...and fans are buying this narrative that Gruden hates Haskins? Is this not a clear deflection from Allen to scapegoat Gruden I don't know what is.

    The Bruce Allen/GM Thread

It would not shock me in the least if the "Gruden is sabotaging Haskins" narrative being thrown around right now is the work of Bruce Allen realizing that he needs a scapegoat to take the heat away from him. Notice how no one is talking about the Trent Williams debacle anymore?
  21. You're right. They don't get any reps with the starters in preparation for games week to week. Haskins did.
  22. Just like every other backup QB that has ever played in the NFL since the modern era.
  23. The fact that Louis Riddick, one of Haskins' biggest cheerleaders all year, continues to beat the drum of Gruden having an "agenda" for merely playing him in a game should be alarming for everyone.
