He is still pretty much uncoverable by one person.

Why did  no team want to trade for him...???  I understand him wanting a trade but no takers if "pretty much uncoverable ". His Raiders stats are spotty ..Two big games against the Cowboys and Bucs..the other are pedestrian. I'd watch those 2 games on how NOT to cover DJ....

I'd agree with that. I still think he could be special.

What bothers me is RR's quote saying the D is playing better because players aren't hunting for "Splash" plays. They are playing within the scheme. I think THAT was a not so veiled threat to Sweat and Young that they are NOT bigger than the team and it will NOT be allowed in 2022. Clearly, something is going on for RR to go public like that.

If either doesn't listen..trade him. If "this" D works the rest of the year..you might want to do that anyway and get draft capital (if you can).

I'd hate to have another Skins bust to Pro Bowl but sometimes people don't get a clue until their ego is deflated.

Highly possible. I don’t have a Twitter account, that could be why that it isn’t working for me. But alas Twitter is the 👿

I've had the same problem but if I copy the link and paste to a new web page it comes up...wierd

Nope...not there with me too...didn't work

  4. If the Defense lived up to it's hype..TH would have us 1st in the NFCE. I don't care if he can't throw a 60 yarder..if he can thread the needle at 20-30 like he has..use his legs to expand the play..throw on the run accurately..AND HAVE HIS TEAM BELIEVING IN HIM. WTF do ya want? The guy doesn't quit and the team is responding to that. When was the last time we could say the offense will drive 90 yards to win the game.....

He is frickin FUN to watch!

  5. So RR said they blitzed more after Young (and Sweat) went out against the GOAT. And IT WORKED! Soooo..what kind of pressure do you thing WFT could generate if they "Blitzed" more WITH Young/Sweat. Yea..it *may* expose your secondary..but the QB would be running for their lives IMHO and would create mistakes. We are LAST in 3rd down stops..what did we have to loose??? I really think the coaches over thought their game plans (dropping Young into coverage). I am willing to bet this "new" approach (without Y/S) will be more effective than the old approach just rushing the original 4 DL.

I think we missed a great opportunity to be real destructive the 1st half of this season.

  6. Not to be a debbie downer..but..where was this intensity in the previous games? What changed. The DE's??? Playing within the scheme...Offense has been "OK" considering how many players went down/not there. Did they stop "chipping" the DE's and played straight up for the 1st time?

This just seemed like a more motivated team with hungrier players playing....Is that coaching?

I had accepted that this team couldn't play a good team and resigned to doing something else on Sundays. AGAIN..they screwed up my plan...

  7. Maybe I'm alone in this but the quote that got me the most was the "haters" thing...it is said allot around the league by people who don't perform (Cousins did it). If you dare criticize the player...you are a "hater" and someone to be ignored. RR having to complain publicly just reinforces that he's a Arrington clone. These guys seem to have perfected the art of deflection (not a football either). The REAL Superstars talk with their play and CY is a mumbler to date

Last season we gave up 21 Passing TD's all season.

This year, in just the first 8 games, or half the games of the above, we've already given up 20.

What is different about our secondary this year ?

    Moreland ? Reaves ? Darby ?

Did you notice how close Denver backs played to the LOS. Maybe 5 yards if that...then look at us...at the 1st down marker as IF we will drop the player at contact..WTF??? Receivers releasing untouched..I just don't get it..

Defense has gotten 6 turnovers in the last three games, in which we've been 2-9 in the red zone in the same timeframe. 2 and 9.

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/schedule/_/name/wsh

Edit: double down, zero red zone trips against the chiefs when our defense had three turnovers. Zero.

The AG's fumble inside the RZ and TH's brain fart Non TD are 2 scores almost guaranteed normally..three with missed FG. He got us there but .... TH won't make the same mistake...I see that as a coaching..don't get hurt..over reaction..he won't do that again

Noticing a lot of posters that say they are excited are indifferent to us winning and losing.  Trainwrecks are exciting, but they don't win football games.

Until the defense picks up their end..I wouldn't bench TH. He was supposed to get short fields..remember...IF the D did that..he's a winner

Trading good players on rookie contracts is bad value.

I agree with the Value assessment. That's why I would have value picks IF we could get them. I don't mean give them away for high 2's or 3's.

If we could get #1's or VERY early 2's for 2022/2023 ...we'd have 5 or 6 Top picks in the same class to build a nucleus. Look at Johnson's Cowboys after the Herschel Walker trade. If we could get that many picks to get a class of top performers (assuming we could draft worth a damn..BIG Assumption I know)

By the time we draft an offense...these guys will be gone via FA. I'm just suggesting we should be looking at that before Nov 2nd.

  12. Honestly, I think we should start trading our "value" players and stockpiling draft picks. We are in a cycle where our top picks get to year 4-5 and we still don't have the all pieces in place. Look to see what Young/Sweat/Payne..etc (even Terry) can get us and if we can get some #1's in 2022/2023 go for it.

Like Gibbs did in drafting the Hogs...all same class..

We have to STINK BAD and get into the early rounds too. I'm not so sure about RR either...caught glimpses of him chuckling it up with a official after that BS non TD and failed sneak..

I would think he'd be a little bit beside himself with this clown show.

    Things getting worse..not better.

It’s setting in that we have the worst defense in the league going against A Rod. The excitement is gone. Let’s hope for a miracle boys.

What the hell..blitz every down..don't give A any time. We  HAVE to get him hearing footsteps. Playing this guy straight up is asking for a ass kicking. Bring Collins all day every angle and the front 4 have to penetrate. Collins can't let A out of the pocket to make plays...OH..and jam the damn receivers for once this season...no cushion. Go for broke. NOTHING TO LOOSE

    But can they do it?

Jonathan Allen is a player on defense that has the respect of his teammates while Terry McLaurin is a leader that lets his play do the talking.  Ultimately, you need a leader at the quarterback position and feel like Fitzpatrick would have been that if not for his injury.

But has either addressed their respective units? I agree they have standing but do they use it. They HAVE to be pissed at what is going on (Them giving 110%). We used to see "player only" meetings where people were held accountable by teammates. If that doesn't exist..do you really have a team? I'm not sure Fitz has standing in the team yet.

Reminds me of the Movie Major League where Taylor rips into Dorn....wish we had some of that.

  15. When was the last time we had a "Leader"  on this team that would grab the facemask of guys screwing up and call them out?? London Fletcher? We don't have any of those guys anymore. Just a bunch of guys with "C"'s on their jerseys who don't have the STANDING to pull guys together. You look at Brady...he won't tolerate crap. How do we find those guys...so Far Young hasn't developed the "Standing" to criticize. Scherff doesn't standup...even Trent didn't when he was here.

Is there anybody you would call a Player Leader on this roster?

Please just cut this guy. He SUCKS out loud as a traditional safety and then acts like he’s doing us a massive favor, coming down off Mount Olympus to moonlight some at LB because he’s so “good at it” and such a team player. Even though he sucks just as loud there. Tired of this guy and this barely contained attitude in an open presser is the final straw to me.

Why give him a chance to earn more money. Put his ass on the practice squad..the money is sunk so why give a sh**. Nobody would claim him off the PS because of his contract $$ ...right??

  17. Why did it take so long to move him into the box and keep him from covering deep. Everyone on here was screaming to move him to linebacker week 3. Can't these coaches see the obvious? At least now we won't see #26 trailing a wide open receiver for a TD. Sick of seeing that....

I feel like it's a little late for that  This is what the offseason is for. Talking and coaching through all that before the games actually start.  Before he even signs really.

AND Playing it in Preseason (Duh). Another Gruden 2.0 Camp Lollypop strategy.

  19. Gruden 2.0  So WFT was practiced with no pads and slow speed for Sunday's game because of "injuries". Like Allen/Gibbs said..you play like you practice. If you have an injured player..play the damn backup. This is Camp Lollypop all over again..sheesh.

    https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/oct/18/after-lack-discipline-ron-rivera-mulls-change-appr/

Over the past few weeks, Rivera said Washington has had to “slow” its practices down in terms of tempo and length due to the mounting number of injuries. Last Wednesday’s session, for example, was around an hour and held without players in pads. As a downside to that shift, Rivera said teams “don’t get an opportunity” to practice tackling.
