    PRESEASON GAMEDAY THREAD- REDSKINS @BROWNS

Allot of these guys won't be on the team @ 53. The 1st PS game is the least important test of talent is all I'm sayin. We got a look at who can/can't play at this level at 1st blush. Continuity will build as the roster shrinks and Colt gets out there. The D & ST defiantly needs some work though or Manusky is hiding his real D strategies. Cleveland wanted to make a statement and they did. WTF- No huddle and game planned blitz's...they wanted this game more than us and they got it. Congrats to them I look at the players who went out for the season on other teams this week in a BS PS game..

Chemistry with WHO. The 1st String QB didn't play...just saying. This was a look see game, thats all. IF Jay does this all PS..then yea dejavu all over again
  3. Depends on the offering. Anything above a #2 ( 3 & up) and I would think he stays and looses money along the way. I'd wait for the 53 mandatory cut line to see who is available

    Extending Season to 18 games

I just saw that the Players Association said the expansion to 18 games would be bad for players. I started to think about that and came up with some reasons as to why the Players Union should embrace that IF: 1) Rosters are expanded from 53 players to X number (63?) 2) Limits on quarters a player can play (say 16 games). That would allow some playing time fro 2nd tier and coaches to prove themselves 3) Keep players from playing hurt with #1 being said Seems the union has some leverage to get concessions and expand it's membership What am I missing?? Allot more money and 2 less preseason games to risk injury I'd support it if I was a player if they get something in return beside game checks

Gotta Have Faith vs. No Faith

I want to see some play (especially OL) before I predict. If the OL can open some running lanes (even small ones) I see our backs dictating the game plan. It all hinges on that IMO. If they don't have a heavy respect for the run..then yea..the outlook is grim. I remember the Riggo drill where EVERYONE knew he was getting the ball and they couldn't stop it. Yea, this is not the Hogs or the Diesel but if we can get close to dominating the LOS and Clock...I see 10 wins. I'm reading good stuff about AP&G on hitting the holes and breaking long runs...lets see if that happens in preseason. If we split the 1st 4 games against those teams..I LIKE our chances
  6. Man, looks like Jerry is playing hardball with HIS star players. Our's is nowhere near as critical as ANY on those three players. Zeke sitting our brings a smile to my face...at least sitout to game 3 and let us play Alf....

Welcome to the Redskins Dwayne Haskins QB Ohio State

Disagree..you can't stack the box with Reed at TE. Maybe when Reed comes out but that leaves Thompson to account for for the flat and they can't cover that. If both are in its pick your poison. If Thomspon and Guice are in the backfield together..wow. *I* think the weapons we have will shred a stacked box D and Colt knows the playbook and can audible to the best play better than the other two. The weak link is the O Line and Callahan has shown he can make gold outa lead. The first 3 games will tell so we don't have long to wait.

Welcome to the Redskins Dwayne Haskins QB Ohio State

This is Colt's role to loose. I'm routing for him..been a real team player. Prolly his last chance to be a starter in the NFL. With our running game..he doesn't have to have Elway's arm talent
  9. You left out "Under Contract" for 2 more years after signing a league leading deal for 5 years. If contracts are toilet paper.... At least KC was smart with his 3 YEAR Fully Guaranteed deal. It may be the future..short deals..guaranteed money. NO MORE RENEGOTIATION
  10. Sound Familiar? His BFF succeeded to the tune of 84Mil Not being smart ass..but who is Paul Conner? What gives him cred? Like was said..IF that is true..it does clarify *some* of the anger. Funny Peterson and others haven't mentioned that..Where did this guy get his info.
  11. Proof: Media hasn't a Clue. No leaks Proof: BA says he is talking to Trent directly and the conversation will remain private Proof: Robinson and Penn Want more??
  12. What do you think is happening right now?? Nobody is commenting. You are SPECULATING and casting Judgement with NO PROOF. The FO is doing the right thing right now. Keeping conversations private, talking to Trent (not the media) and taking action to insure the team is prepared for his absence. What the hell do you want the FO to do? You act as if the FO went out of their way to piss off TW
  13. I've been a fan since 68. That's allot of FO's The Cerrato was a cluster F*ck in that he paid HIGH $$ for washed up talent. Everyone can agree on that. Shanahan lived and died by those mistakes and his attempt to mitigate the cap with Fat Boy. Bruce has managed the Cap well..we had a team working, then the KC debacle caused a restart. *I* don't blame Bruce for that per se (I blame him for not recognizing KC's game and trading him prior to the 2017 Draft or at LEAST 2018 Draft..I was screaming for that. Yes..he let some player go like Garcon and Desean for Cap reasons...but thats a Business decision too. The problem the skins have is that they don't recognize talent well. Draft or FA..but that has changed to as evidenced by the last 2 drafts and NOT playing in the Aged FA game (except for Alex's forced hand). *I* think the Skins have turned the corner. I know I am in the minority but I was in the minority about KC too in 2017 and I was right .
  14. Just why is it Bruce's fault that a player has a gripe and he balks at the "remedy" of firing an entire staff with families WITHOUT any proof being offered by the player AND whose responsibility it was to manage his body?? Then you all say TW should go to Dan to get results AFTER these same people saw what that relationship with RG3 did to the team. AND vilified Dan (rightly for having a personal preference on a player). This player signed a contract and was paid UP FRONT to adhere to the contract. He consumed the front loaded goodies with 3years of injury tainted performance and NOW thinks he's entitled to another goodie laden renegotiation.... Man I know this is a forum..but hold the right person responsible here..How would YOU manage your business if an employee did this to you? Lets hear what the problem really is before castigating the FO on this one...
  15. He'd be more valuable to us sitting out as an example than getting a 4th. I hope Bruce realizes that
  16. If Jacoby can't get into the HOF..Trent doesn't have a chance. I don't remember Jake missing a snap much less a history like Trent...Just sayin
  17. And the game begins..this juts MAY work out right with multiple bidders https://www.foxnews.com/sports/buffalo-bills-isaac-asiata-retirement-anxiety They'd listen if they started with I got a #1 for ya (or High Value/Low Round #2). The market is beginning to shape up
  18. Assuming Trent will not play. How does Penn/Robinson w/ the rookies stackup in the NFCE. Average..better than average? With our RB's being above average, has Bruce mitigated a blown season? And what happens to our Cap if Trent shows and the Penn $$ are 5 mil...only 5 mil for injuries? Do we now have a potential cap problem looming?
  19. I just remember all the times players opt for holistic healing vs surgery recommended by the TS. Plenty of examples where player decides on a treatment or surgery contrary to the Skins recommendations, fairly common I would say . Landry is a prime example of a player doing it HIS way. Like I said..this argument "seems" a stretch https://www.fredericksburg.com/sports/dc_sports/laron-landry-clarifies-his-health-stance-on-surgery-in-radio/article_b73377eb-6b2f-50ed-add7-cedce6e3cc6d.html
  20. WTF????? Push what along?? The decision to have it removed?? the TS has no input as to when and who puts a knife to a player if the player's doctor says it's needed. I don't understand that quote at all???
  21. No value in out right releasing him. THAT would just encourage more of the same tactics
  22. Nope. Hang onto his rights for 2 years. Change tactics and don't encourage others. UNLESS we can get a early #2 or better
  23. If as was reported 2nd opinions are paid for by the club..there was/is no excuse for Trent not partaking of that benefit. It was HIS call.
  24. So NFL Rule says Aug 6th Deadline for players under contract to report to their clubs to earn an accrued season for free agency. So if Trent doesn't report..do we have rights on him 2019,2020 and 2021 since he didn't get an accrual? His 2 year contract is now a 3 year hold on his career?

    2019 Redskins Training Camp/Preseason Thread

Flower was interviewed and the above is absolutely correct. He said he's working on incorporating a skip step vs just a back step that D lineman have keyed on in the past as to direction. He said he was predictable and this step addition "should" allow him to be more unpredictable...So he is working on technique and he recognizes *some* of his faults. At least the dude is working to improve. I hope the light bulb comes on and Cally can get Flowers turned around. What he did with scrubs was phenomenal so I do have some hope he can work with a 1st round talent (yes..a bust for now but the guy "had" shown talent). Better show soon though...I'm rooting for him
