  1. I battled back and forth all week on this one, even convincing myself Tuesday night to pick up Washington’s defense in fantasy. But after the bombshell report this morning, this has all the makings of a disaster.
  2. There’s just about a zero chance that QB wasn’t agenda item #1 for every conversation Ron and Dan had in the offseason. I’m sure they talked though all the scenarios, and once they lost out on Wilson, pressure was applied to get a deal done for Wentz. That’s not to say Ron didn’t want Wentz. If I was Ron, I’d rather have Wentz than anyone in the draft. It just makes more sense now why they didn’t waste any more time to acquire him and paid up.
  3. @Captain Wiggles Those tweets are what he was being asked about. They were curious if it was personal to be dragging him like that. He said it wasn’t personal at all, who knows on that front. But he definitely implied that WJ3 is dumb and needs a ton of direction to be successful - something he had from vets in Cincy.
  4. She even kind of looks like Wendy Byrd. However, Dan is a far cry from Marty - looks, height, and clearly brains wise.
  5. There’s a blurb in there about that, as a secondary option. I almost threw up. What an absolute joke that would be, almost as big of a joke as the statement in there that she’s one of the best business people in America or some outrageously unbelievable statement.
  6. If there is one certainty of Dan including himself in football operations, historically - it’s always been at the QB position. He’s quoted in the article as telling folks he needs a QB and a stadium as his silver bullets. He is on record telling politicians as he pitches for gambling on site at Fed Ex, “We finally got ourselves a QB”. Why would this time be any different? Again, that’s not to say Ron had no interest in Wentz, or had another plan. But it would be silly to pretend Snyder had zero influence and only approved the decision after Ron made all the plans to make it happen.
  7. Color me shocked that you don’t believe that. 😂 It’s pretty clear that leak isn’t coming from Ron, or any of his confidants. If it is, it’s not because he wanted that dropped to save him blame. It does nothing to help him at 1-4, in a must win game tonight to have that information leak. That’s not to say Ron was disgusted with the idea of bringing in Wentz, but to suggest this is leaked to benefit him makes no sense to me. Perhaps if he was recently fired, maybe.
  8. PacMan Jones who played with WJ3 in Cincy was dogging him in an interview I heard the other day. Can’t remember exactly where it was. He ultimately said without saying that WJ3 is dumb and needs to be told exactly what to do, that’s not happening in Washington, hence him getting worked regularly.
  9. Eh, most of this can be attributed to habit. As in following this team has been a habit for a lot of us for a major portion of our lives. I can’t speak for all of us, but for me - I want to care. I just have very little juice anymore and it’s generally not very entertaining on gameday. I just cannot muster the fire I once had for this team.
  10. I honestly wondered if he was just so inebriated, it wasn’t possible for him to function remotely close to what’s required of someone in his position. It wasn’t but a few months on the job when his wife tweeted that Russini was hiding the sausage for a scoop. Every time we saw him his skin tone gave Shanny a run for his money. Bringing him to Ashburn in that environment was detrimental to any possible chance he had to lay off the sauce. We we’re all so thirsty for someone with actual scouting experience to pick the groceries, we were willing to overlook his transgressions and just how risky it was given the frat like atmosphere of Redskins Park. This is the story for every prominent position in this organization.
  11. And when he does wear a suit, he gets it tailored to the size he wishes he was vs. his actual size. Either that or billionaire Dan buys off the rack from Burlington Coat Factory. That would explain a lot. —————— And @NickyJ I’m literally LOL.
  12. Right, those names inspire no confidence in me. I also don’t see him giving any of those guys carte blanche to hire the coach. Zero chance Snyder wouldn’t influence that decision.
  13. Just because it’s ‘coach centric’ doesn’t mean ownership doesn’t cause problems though. I agree that coach centric is not the way to go. But whether it’s a GM hiring the coach or the coach hiring the GM, ownership can still present problems.
  14. I sat in silence on my couch with my head in my hands for probably close to half an hour, like someone died.
  15. I generally agree with this sentiment. I’ve never been one to get real emotional about what a coach says. That said, this circumstance was a ‘foot in mouth’ moment. Not just because he implied we have the worst QB in the division, but because he was also wrong——very wrong. He stepped right into a pile of 💩 on his own, and the media actually helped him to try and save him from himself. It was a bad look- win, lose or draw.
  16. I’ve been in similar debates with a buddy of mine who loathes Wentz. He will point to X play where he had room to make a play and failed as proof positive it’s not the line - it’s him. My only counter is that the regular pressure coming hot, heavy and in a hurry up the middle has cooked him. That’s the stuff that makes a QB hear footsteps that aren’t there and just generally sluggish. Beyond that he’s got a center that can’t get right. It’s easy to see why he’s so shaky. Sure, there are the great ones who persevere through that, but obviously Wentz is not a great QB. Generally speaking, I (wrongly) trusted Ron’s experience with Turner and Norwell and didn’t expect them to be so awful. But to compound the problems further is Chase’s injury. It’s just a recipe for disaster for a QB playing in what sounds like a complicated system that’s new to him, who also happens to have lost his legs. Something they should have known about him prior to making the trade. Offseason reports indicate the offensive staff was doing cartwheels over the addition of Wentz. One would think they should have some semblance of an idea of the version of him they acquired.
  17. I don’t know man, to me it takes quite the audacity for Scott Turner to feel at luxury of “coming to terms with Wentz”. Wentz has the experience and resume with some success on it. Turner has nothing, but benefit of doubt provided to him because of his dad and not having a decent QB. If anything, Scott should have already been catering his system to Wentz vs. the other way around. I just don’t think he even knows what that is. The more and more I hear about Turner’s system the less I like it. If your QB refers to it as putting his head in a blender, that’s a problem and we see it every single week. Scott ought to stick to designing plays and hand the reigns to someone qualified to craft an offense around Wentz and call the plays.
  18. The fact of the matter is it’s a really, really bad sound bite. Not only is it insulting to the QB you vowed to believe in, but it’s also a bogus claim. I don’t however think he meant it the way it came out. He’s just on that end of the Snyder cycle where he can’t really believe what’s happening and just blurting out nonsense. It happens to all of them.
  19. I just don’t think most guys worth their salt want to stake their career on trying to turn around Dan’s franchise. Sure, the whole world knows that nobody succeeds here and perhaps some folks won’t hold that against him. But why take the chance? There is no cap for front offices in the league, which is part of why you see the cream of the crop stay put until the right position opens up. These guys get bloated titles and more $ to stick around. They are also being counseled by folks to not eff around and be the next dude scapegoated by Dan. Something I think fans get confused when it comes to having full authority over the roster isn’t all it sounds like. As a GM/coach centric coach (lol), you still report to the owner. You still have to meet with them regularly and provide updates on what you’re doing. You still have to entertain their ideas respectfully. This is anywhere in the league. The owner always has the ultimate authority and power. We have no idea the literature in these contracts, beyond that nobody wants the drama and stress of pissing off their boss. Which means if I’m a GM worth my salt, I’d choose a different billionaire to answer to. A smarter one, smart enough to know his football ideas suck.
  20. Smoked some wings at 225 for 2 hours, then air fried for 10 minutes to tighten the skin. Buffalo, Hot Honey-OldBay, Garlic butter-Lemon pepper With some air fried fries and my house fry seasoning.
  21. I listened to it and honestly, it didn’t sound as bad when he said it as it did me piecing it together here. I knew what he was getting at - we have a new QB and new guys on the OL. As for folks saying he’s signaling that Wentz can’t run Turner’s system. That’s not good for Ron or Turner either, considering nobody has ever shown they can effectively run his system. Scott can show you some wrinkles that make you think he has potential to be a next level OC. But he’s never had anyone sustain any level of success. It would appear he can design plays but is straight ass at game planning, sequencing and calling plays. It also seems there isn’t any room for the QB to make executive decisions. For a guy with relatively little experience calling an offense, that seems ridiculous.
