  1. Ironically, maybe the only thing keeping the team in DC today (along with the lucrative league-wide TV deal) is those idiotic visiting team takeovers. Without that, the team might already be gone. It is an embarrassing shame what has become of this once-proud franchise.
  2. I watched bits and pieces of the Eagles-Commanders game on TV before I had to go to work, it was just pathetic. Even when Washington was making plays of positive yardage, you could hear cell phones going off on the sidelines and in the stands. Later on, I went on YouTube and looked up the 1983 matchup of the same two teams at RFK Stadium. The difference was like night and day! Summerall and Madden had to raise their voices just to be heard over the crowd noise.
  3. Commander McBragg, from the old Underdog cartoons of the mid-1960s.
  4. Still another burning question, if and when the name change is a done deal, does team heritage, records and statistics carry over to the new era, or will we wind up like the Tennessee Titans? I know the three Lombardi trophies are locked up in Ashburn, but…
  5. Also, the Nationals have a big series this weekend with the Braves, so some indirect competition there. The Sunday afternoon game of that series a 1:35 start. But you're right, many are skeptical, particularly after that second half meltdown vs. Philly. I, too, am projecting roughly a 60-40 Dallas crowd, but would DEARLY love to be proven wrong.
  6. OK, keep the burgundy pants with the two-striped socks. Perhaps for one home game, take the field for pregame warm-ups in all burgundy, then do a "Notre Dame" and switch to gold jerseys before coming out on the field for the game.
  7. White on white has been done a couple of times before, during the Spurrier years. And during the Zorn years, they wore all burgundy for a Monday night game with the Steelers. Along with the color rush fad, the gold jersey would be perfect for inclement conditions, such as a snowy day in Buffalo, or a foggy day in Chicago.
  8. The gold jersey would be perfect for a snowy day in Buffalo, or a foggy day in Chicago. I'm OK with it for one or two games per season, although I would really prefer it with the burgundy pants.
  9. I kind of saw it coming. Well, at least they could wear the burgundy pants with the gold jerseys and give it a little more pizzazz. The second photo is what the Dolphins are going to be wearing September 29, versus the Bengals (according to a Facebook newsfeed that I got).
  10. Let's just worry about blocking and tackling, not what uniform combinations and they're going to wear on Thanksgiving day.
  11. No "color rush" unis for Thanksgiving Day? Good! They would look like a variation of the Oregon Ducks in all-gold. That said, let's now focus on blocking and tackling.
