  1. I'm in balmy NoVA where it's bad from mid-Feb to mid-March and then the weather gets its act together and I'll be danged if someone is gonna make me go to Cheecahhgoh anytime soon.
  2. Oh boy someone in the NFL media speculated about what Adam Peters likes based on 3rd parties who probably have their own agenda! Guess it's six four more weeks of winter stupid draft speculation.
  3. My guess is he's tryna get someone to trade to 4 and take McCarthy. He probably really likes one of the receivers and doesn't want ARI to take them. A couple weeks ago I would have said it was MHJr but now I'm not so sure it's not Nabers but either way he wants to be in that driver's seat it seems.
  4. Well I included Sears here mostly tongue in cheek bc they are obviously unproven, but hey they support my priors and therefore is gud. But if they were legit I'm guessing anyone but our own FO. Scouts and executives from other places but obvs not the Giants since he's speculating about them. Also very possible. NE had Maye mocked to them at 2 for months before we swooped in and snagged 2 out from under them. They may have taken exception to that.
  5. It's the ****ing Giants running a psyop. It's always been the Giants running a psyop. Dudes work 10 minutes from every HQ of every major sports media outlet in America so they all just whisper in their ears in line at the coffee shops in the morning.
  6. Jayden did himself a disservice by skipping the combine, because a fair bit of these debates boil down to Jayden's foundational problems (ie his weight, arm strength) vs. Maye's inconsistencies. Maye can't show improvements in consistency until he takes the field. But Jayden can address those foundational problem concerns via combine and pro day. He skipped the combine. Now he's gotta show he's the total package on the pro day, no games or mulligans.
  7. Translation: OTHER teams are telling Jeremy Fowler that THEY are calling WAS, and WAS hasn't disconnected the phone the second they mention they are interested in a trade up to 2. Completely unrelated side story: My ex-boss at a crim defense firm I'm not at anymore, when getting calls for like speeding tickets or whatever, would pick up the phone, introduce himself, ask what they were charged with and what happened, then put himself on mute, and go back to watching soccer on tv. When the people finally stopped talking he'd be like "alright we can take of that for you it'll cost whatever $$$s and we're the best attorneys in the county for these cases. Do you want to retain?" And then if they did he'd punt them to a paralegal or if not he'd tell them to just give us a call back whenever they were ready to hire. ... What was I talking about again?
  8. I know there will likely be a good edge defender at 36/40 but man given the depth of WR class I'd be a little sad if we didn't grab one this year. Unless we pass on a WR for Chop Robinson, then I'm okay.
  9. So one problem I have with the "hits ceiling faster with somewhat lower but still good ceiling and higher floor" thing is that won't get you any discounts on the 2nd contract. You see it all over the league, where teams have a perfectly GOOD QB, but also a guy who isn't putting the team on their back for 20 games a year. I mean shoot, we had people in here a few weeks back going after Josh Allen bc he couldn't single handedly will the Bills to not miss a field goal wide right. How much worse would it be if you have a guy like Derek Carr or Kyler Murray. You gotta pay them BIG bucks or they will bail on you for someone who will pay them, but they also aren't winning you the SB on their own. You need a team around them, but their 40M+/year contract is gonna kill your cap. That's a no from me dawg, give me higher ceiling pick. Obviously if you have to choose between *gestures at the disaster our QB position has been for 30 years* and say, Kyler Murray/Derek Carr/Trevor Lawrence, you take the latter. But if you're consciously choosing the lower ceiling guy who might have a shorter career....I dunno man, I question that judgment pretty hard.
  10. I think they meant to use "supreme athlete" in the way we often use "dual threat." If we put QBs on a sliding scale of: Pocket Statue <---> Pocket Passer <----> Pocket Mobile <-----> Mobile Passer <------> Scramble Threat <-----> Running Threat <------> Michael Vick you could probably make the argument that anyone from "scramble threat" and right is a "supreme athlete"
  11. Flaming hoops that shoot fireworks when the ball goes through them. Giant speed limit sign with a radar on it for measuring the ball velocity.
  12. We have 33 more days of this. Lord help us. What's next? Grundletaint Athletics says we're gonna trade back and take Penix? And that will naturally set off a Woozle effect where 7 games of telephone down the line ****ing Albert Breer is gonna say we're taking Penix on ESPN. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woozle_effect
  13. I mean, maybe. Agents out there doing their jobs hyping up their clients. The jokes about Schefter getting fat checks from Drew Rosenhaus are just that, jokes, but they are funny bc we could all see it.
  14. I mean, lots of league people trying to make fetch happen, aka trying to mentally will WAS into passing on Drake and they are gonna say stuff. We MIGHT pass on Drake but anything about our choices isn't coming from inside the house, but there's a lot of people who have their own motives and reasons for pushing narratives. Remember the Malik Willis hype and how people thought the Steelers might have to move up to get him? Biggest hype job from his agent and a number of people in the NFL media landscape bought it. Then you get the tier down from the Bremmers and Schefters and Rappaports who are basically just pundits and they say things like "I think it'll be Jayden Daniels because of Kliff Klingsbury." Like...what? Murray had one year above 600 rushing yards and then he coached Caleb who is much more similar to Maye than he is to Daniels. How does one even figure that. It's all just a "they want a mobile QB quickly scribble in Daniels' name" rehash. No one knows anything.
  15. Well there is a correlation between success and lower P2S. It's noisy enough that I think you can give a fair bit of leeway BUT when people start approaching the higher ends I think that's where it starts to become a yellow/red flag. Indeed that's why Jayden does concern me a bit. He's not 21 or 22% but up at 24%. It's high enough to start to raise concerns. Lol absolutely not. We started dating at the end of her first year of med school when I was in 2L and having seen/compared med school vs law school and then seen residency, it's a whole different ballgame. Early lawyering years weren't fun either but insofar as the "education" portion the MDing side looked wayyyyyyyy tougher to me.
