  1. I wonder if there is any chance we would double dip on linebacker if someone we like falls?

I know we met with Jabril Cox multiple times. Jamin and Cox would immediately shore up our LB-core.  Who are other Will/Sam backers that are fits?

Even with the Jamin pick I think we could still use another player, even if it's a developmental one.

  2. AJ Green signing for 8.5 mil/6 GTD is pretty cheap. Hopefully it will accelerate the rest of the receivers getting signed. 10-12 million has to be the ceiling for Golladay or anyone else now.

I wonder if other positions are seeking 1 year deals as well and it is causing the slow movement in FA with teams looking to cash in cheap on multi-year deals.... Stalemate of sorts

  3. Anyone like Brock Purdy?

I think he fits perfectly in a QB room with Heinicke and Allen. Let those two battle for the starting job while you groom Purdy as the long-term.

Watched the QB School's breakdown on him and he had high praise.

Hes mobile, and throws with NFL-level anticipation. I'd love to trade down in the first, pick up extra picks and take Purdy on Day 2.

    Major Russel Wilson/Romo vibes

  4. With rivera's history of not prioritizing defensive backs, our main weakness on defense seems to be linebacker.

I think we go LB or OL in the first. Slot WR in the second. Let AGG and Harmon battle for the #2 role. Someone should emerge from those two...right?

Id love zaven collins in the first and a free agent corner that would allow us to shift fuller to the slot where he seems to be best suited.

Collins is about the closest thing I see to finding our Luke Kuechly

Also do you guys think we could possibly trade Landon Collins?

  5. I also think Kirk played a large factor with Doctson as well.

After the conclusion of the Kirk saga, it was especially evident last season that Kirk was playing for stats more than anything. Young receiving options didn’t get many chances with balls and he went to guys he was most comfortable with most of the time.

With a QB under center on a long term contract, and one who has played in the league longer with several different receiving cores, I think it will help Doctsons development immensely in a critical year for him.

Agreed. There's just something about it that looks unprofessional.

I'd be curious if you both prefer chrome accents on vehicles over matte gray and black accents.

For instance, my father is a chrome guy and it may be a generational thing.

A combo of matte and gloss could also look nice as well. As much as I hate the Seahawks I think they did a great job on their recent uniform refresh with the gloss carbon fiber stripe down the center of the matte helmet.

Come to think of it, since NFL teams are limited as to what they can do with the helmets having to be the same color (which makes zero sense, btw), I think a play on the feather stripe down the center of the helmet from back in the day could be a cool alternate look. Much better than the atrocious clash we have to go with on our current throwback unis.

Maybe something like the current helmet color with updated center feather stripe logo (with the gray facemask swap we currently do when we wear our throwbacks) with a black and burgundy jersey on white pants similar to the Florida State blackout alternates. I'd love to see that for 2 games a year or something.

I just don't want this team to look hilariously dated when we look back on it in 20 years.

I'm not saying we need to revive an old uniform but isn't it best to shoot for something that's going to stand the test of time?

I think something subtle like the vikings did recently would be well received by both younger and old school fans alike.

Going from gloss to matte on the helmet and maybe just making the logo bigger on the helmet would go a long way for a refresh while pretty much remaining unchanged at the same time.

Throw in a spearhead alternate for a few games and we'd be set.

First!    Now that he is playing week 1, I am guessing they will reduce it to a 5 game suspension.

Exactly what I said would happen when I saw the news break. No shot we get blessed by the football gods to play a weakened Dalass team. History would suggest he gets it dropped to a 4 or 5 game just in time to take out his aggression towards the league out on the Redskins nose-less defensive line.

  9. Im always torn on this issue. Part of me wants an updated alternate for the Redskins but I also would like to avoid the league becoming anything like college with a million different uniforms for each team.

I love the deep-rooted tradition of the marquee NFL franchises like the Redskins and the uniforms that are a part of that tradition. All too often the "new and improved" of some teams uniforms end up looking dated sooner rater than later (see: Buccaneers, Jaguars). But sometimes an update can be done in good taste while keeping the overall classic theme like the recent Lions update. Its a fine line.

I'd welcome a better throwback with open arms though. The feather down the middle of the helmet replacing the stripe would seemingly work with the dumb NFL helmet rule.

  10. Hope that Steven Daniels wasn't cut simply for being one of the players that Scot stood on the table for on draft day. Kid had great ratings from PFF in college. If he goes off for the Eagles im going to be furious, especially since we didn't get to see him play a single down for us before cutting him.

We've worn our current helmets with our throwbacks because we had to. Not because we wanted to.

But when all the other teams had to follow the stupid rule, their throwbacks matched the helmets or they discontinued wearing them. We should have switched to a different throwback or adjusted the uniforms color accordingly to match the helmets.

The rule is a joke in the first place. Does the NFL think colleges value the players health less than the league does? Schools like Oregon and Maryland seemingly have a different alternate uniform and helmet every week. And even pro players are allowed to switch to a different helmet brand if they find a new design to be more comfortable all the time. If there was solid evidence to support this helmet rule I'm sure the NCAA wouldn't openly ignore it. Its a PR move in attempt to make the NFL look like they are doing everything they possibly can to fight concussions, even if the reasoning is completely fabricated.

  12. Every team in the NFL but us seemingly gets love from Nike with alternates (multiple in some cases) or at least throwbacks with a different logo. Even another traditional franchise in the Raiders received a very tasteful modern uniform update this past year for them to use in rotation. I really liked what Nike did for the Raiders actually. It can be done.

Meanwhile, we have the option of different pants and a half-assed throwback with a clearly mismatched helmet that doesnt even get its own matching logo. Oh I forgot, we remove the stripe and change the facemasks to gray... woohoo.

Ideally I'd like to see a tasteful, slightly modernized alternate (new take on spear or curly R logos to go with any jersey changes: my idea is the "drenched" burgundy on burgundy jersey Nike did for RG3 and Alf on black pants with a spear as the leg stripe), and a proper throwback with a helmet that doesn't clash and it's own respective logo.

Just don't try anything like our color rush uniforms ever again. Or anything like the abortions that are the Jags and Bucs unis (Am I the only one that feels that they are not only ugly but already look dated even though they were recently done?)
