It won't be it for me, it will just be a further diminishment of my attention. This team had about 80-90% of my sporting attention 1979-1993, and probably 70-75% of it 1994-2012, but the past decade its dropped to 10-20%, and botching this will drop it further. I just have other teams either performing far better and giving me much more joy on a consistent level, or at least building properly. Nothing about this pick makes sense to me at all, the good news is I'm wrong a large percentage of the time on who will be great, the bad news is guys Im convinced will be bad almost always are. Otoh, I don't really feel the same way I did about Zach Wilson or Pickett, where I was nearly 100% sure, the bad news is its kind of close to that.

This post is several hours old now and I agree with it. I've loved the Redskins since about '63-64, my dad and mom had season tickets until they moved to FedEx Stadium the first year. I've followed all of this time and like above the last decade has been a disaster. I moved to Texas after retirement to be near family and I will never root for the Cowboys. I was so so on the Texans, different league, and then last year they made some really smart moves. The small first pick went to Carolina and the Texans picked a prototype QB and made it to the playoffs. They already had some pieces, it seemed like the coaches used their personnel to their potential and not trying to make the players something they weren't.

Now it's the Commanders time to make a wise pick for now AND the future, and that pick to me isn't Daniels. And it's basically his size that makes me feel that way. NFL defensive players are fast and big, much more than college players. They've had several years to fill out and get bigger and stronger. I feel that the OL hasn't been effectively addressed yet across the whole line of starters and depth. Poor Howell was flattened on almost every series several times. I compared it to the experience of Patrick Ramsey, another victim of a poor OL. Daniels is an effective smush waiting to happen.

These rookies all need some development and we better have a great QB coach to assist with developing our QB. I think Daniels has this one glaring obstruction to longevity in the NFL. Just like I wouldn't want a small guy like Carolina took.

  2. I figure Melania is grifting for herself, kinda like icing on the cake, or a rainy day fund housewives in the 50s were encouraged to "put by".  The other thought is she's doing it for her beloved, although their relationship is transactional like all of his relationships.

The more I think about it, the more I think she's doing it for herself, although the ides may be Trump's likr his sneakers and Bibles. And she's going to scam him.

Giuliani bankruptcy creditors fire off subpoenas to try to establish whether Trump owes him money

Creditors in disgraced former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s bankruptcy case have issued subpoenas to his associates to try to determine whether his former client Donald Trump owes him money, as the ex-mayor has previously claimed.

The Committee of Unsecured Creditors — individuals and entities that Mr Giuliani owes — served more than a dozen subpoenas on Friday in an effort to recover his assets. Mr Giuliani filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after being hit with a massive $148m verdict for defaming two election workers.

The former Trump lawyer listed a “possible claim for unpaid legal fees against Donald J Trump” in a January bankruptcy court filing. The following month, he elaborated in a hearing that he is owed $2m in unpaid wages for a spurious legal battle to overturn election results in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election.

However, Mr Giuliani underscored that the money is owed not by Mr Trump himself, but by either Trump’s campaign and/or the Republican National Committee. He also suggested that the arrangement was made verbally, calling it a “word-of-mouth situation.”

The Independent previously reported that the creditors’ committee is “discussing” taking legal action against Mr Trump to recover this $2m — a move that Mr Giuliani has said he does not want to take.

Now, the creditors’ committee has issued subpoenas to obtain documentation to substantiate the unpaid wages claim.

He's certainly entitled to finding any money owed him. Good luck!

  4. Yummy!

Picked up my groceries! Have a few new recipes I want to try. A chicken and asparagus dish is one, I might slice some green pears in it. I got some thin sliced chicken breasts and bone in pork chops, most of these get vacuum packed and in the freezer tomorrow. Then I stopped by my usual chicken tender place for tenders and coleslaw, and a Coke. Deliciousl

Judge denies Trump co-defendants' motions to dismiss charges in classified documents case

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon on Thursday denied motions by two of former President Donald Trump's co-defendants to dismiss charges in the classified documents case.

Trump aide Walt Nauta's lawyers asked this month for five charges against him to be dismissed, while lawyers for Carlos De Oliveira, who was the property manager at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s Florida estate, requested that all charges against him be tossed out.

In her filing in Florida, Cannon said De Oliveira "does not meaningfully dispute that the charging document satisfies the minimum pleading standards."

She also noted that his lawyers can challenge prosecutors' evidence during a trial, "where the Special Counsel will bear the entire burden of proof as to all essential elements of the obstruction offenses."

Similarly, she dismissed the motion from Nauta's lawyers, who had argued that obstruction charges against him were unconstitutionally vague.

Someone in the court structure has gotten to her about her behavior and rulings. For a while, I'm thinking that someone in Trump's camp was advising her. Now I think she's getting advice from someone in the federal court system. This ruling from her came rather quick, given her past timelines.

  6. You guys are forgetting half of the population, women, and they are going to be out in droves to vote. And with every word out of Republicans' mouths about absolute ban on abortion including any type of birth control they can label abortion like, loss of voting rights, and anything else taking away women's rights to anything, adult females are going to vote Blue.

We're sick of men trying to control us. We're not putting up with it anymore. Hillary was right about Trump and continues to be right about him. Abortion is the biggest vote getter for Democrats since the supremes outlawed Roe v. Wade. Every election. Or do you guys forget that?

  7. Yum!

I'm making my grocery shopping list for Saturday. Have several interesting recipes I want to try. It's also the time I order the large packs of paper towels, toilet paper, storage bags, dish soap, and foil. These products last several months.
