  1. Still glad Washington gets to decide on who they want instead of trading up for what’s left. So many of you here didn’t think we had a chance for the number 2 pick.

No way Commies were gonna out suck Carolina in the end. Bears had their pick so they get whoever they want this upcoming draft.

I know exactly when this team was picking in the top 3 at the worst. The winless(at the time)Bears beating us in prime time. I knew then the team wasn’t imploding. We were witnessing the aftermath.

  2. It’s still amusing after all these years watching fellow ES members argue like our points matter in the slightest who gets drafted.

Never changes. Above all else, convince someone else that you’re right. Can’t wait for preseason to start again so we can join together and trash/love our team again when they under/over achieve. You folks are a trip and fun to read the back and forth.

  3. I didn’t see Commies trading Howell. Wow, at worst I believed he would be a cheap backup on this team. Well well well, a new age is here to n DC. Out with the old and in with the new.  Looking forward to whoever Commanders draft for qb this year.

The Rex Grossman part is coming. :ols:   This is the reaction from a fan on twitter.  I'll say though I disagree slightly and some hyperbole in that tweet.  I think the arrows have come out some recently on Daniels by some so its starting to even out.  But its tough not to notice that is a spitting match between the two as to fans.  Even Keim's been joking about it on his podcasts.

When you are riding the Metro on the Blue Line for games to FedEx, I look out the window and basically see RFK decaying down while the parking lot is basically soccer fields. This is what the community wants.

The community didn't want a stadium that only hosted games 8 days a year. Not sure how they'd feel about a complex being attached to it, it would generate more foot traffic on non-game days, but also gentrify the neighborhood and raise rent

It’s always depressing seeing old RFK stadium when riding past it on the Blue/Silver lines. It just sits there decaying.

I understand that narratives like that take form.  That's my point.  People vastly oversimplify football because the game is complicated and they find it difficult to talk about football with a lot of nuance.  It doesn't make them right.  And what we're doing in this thread is discussing the game in the context of team building, and for this discussion to be worthwhile, it does requires a more accurate and detailed view that involves complexity and nuance.

That Niners team is stacked with offensive talent. Literally had people open in the end zone but couldn’t seal the deal. Thanks  to a defense that carried them all season.

Chiefs offense adapted all year. It’s not like the Chiefs were putting up an insurmountable lead. They just have a player that gives them the best chance to snatch a victory with Travis Kelce and a squad of receivers that are 2s and 3s at best.

Mahomes did not play very well in that game, and his offense only scored 14 points, 7 of which were a gift from a muffed punt on the 16 yard line.  They only sustained three drives in a five quarter game.  He also turned it over and took awful sacks and had a grounding penalty.  Until that final drive in OT, he didn't outplay Purdy.

Why are people acting like Mahomes was some unbeatable force of nature who put up 5 TDs last night?

Unlike Purdy, in this very game Mahomes actually led the game winning Touchdown drive. No one is going to care the offenses were bad for nearly 3 quarters. They’ll remember Mahomes driving his offense downfield and beating the better Niners team with basically the same play they beat the Eagles.

Life is not fair. However, Chase getting a ring just ain't right.  Glad the Chiefs won, mainly cos I am a borderline Mahomes fanboy.  I have no problem Trent getting a ring  Great player.

No. Trent and his Momma took a dig at Washington after winning the NFC Championship game. I’ll say it again. I’m Glad Trent Williams didn’t win a Ring.😈

    At what cost?

The team he inherited could beat the team he sent out there today.

I thank him for getting us through COVID and the name change while battling cancer, that 2020 season was right on time...

Been grasping at straws anything to thank him for after that.

    Jus go, please.

Obviously Prime Cam Newton carried him. Once Cam went on the decline Ron couldn’t do much with the Panthers.
