  1. I thought Punk's clothesline on Rock was kinda weak myself. JBL's was legendary.

And speaking of Slater....i know he's been jobbed out forever...especially with this legends bit he's been doing. But interest in him is probably higher now than it will be again for quite some time and i think WWE should capitalize on it by putting the US strap on him. First off...if the Miz can job for months then beat Christian for the IC title (which is actually a relevant title mind you), then surely Slater can bring some heat and credibility to the US title. WWE is treating the title like a joke, and Santino simply isn't doing anything with it. I mean, he was throwing dolls out to the crowd last night.

If they put the strap on Slater, allow him to build some momentum, embody that naturally annoying heel he is minus the comedy crap....i think he could really get that title on the right track. He could feud with guys like Gabriel, Kidd, Sin Cara, Alex Riley, Mason Ryan etc....eventually opening the door for one of those other young, talented in ring performers (lol ok maybe not Mason Ryan in that aspect), to take the Belt from Slater and give the people something to cheer about. I mean the belt has been useless since Dolph dropped it. It got old on him, Zack Ryder had it for 15 minutes, Jack Swagger did nothing for the belt and likewise it did nothing for him.

I just don't see a better time than now to put the US title on an up and coming heel. And i mean really, who else is there? Jinder Mahal, Hunico, Camacho, Drew McIntyre....these are the heels who are on that level right now. Even the US title would be a step back for Tensai, and he ain't doing ****. Slater for US Champ baby...i say make it happen.

If they plan on having Sandow go after it, i hope he wins it and throws it in the damn garbage. That belt is beneath him right now. They should be aiming him towards the IC title. But if his first reign comes as US Champ i guess it wouldn't be the end of the world. I just personally think he's got to much talent to be screwing around with that lousy piece of tin until someone who's been around a while restores some credibility to it.

  2. Great episode. Putting Sandow in that huge spot with DX will be great for him down the line. They tried to do the same with the Kane/Taker thing and Mahal, McIntyre, Hawkins, Reks, Hunico, and Camacho. But it didn't come off quite as well imo. kinda hard to build up six guys at once when you know they're gonna get squashed by Taker and Kane. But the way they did it with Sandow was genius, it fit so perfectly. The intellectual savior coming down to cleanse a group of "degenerates"....you just knew he was gonna get his ass whipped. I honestly think DX put Sandow over....DX is already so over, i think that was Trips way of saying..."hey i don't bury EVERYONE"....until he's ready to that is, lol.

Miz winning the IC title....kinda mixed reaction from me on that one. Glad to see him win it, but didn't make a ton of sense after months and months of jobbing. I guess they want a title on him when he starts promoting for the Marine 3. Plus the win felt too clean....face turn for Miz possibly? I wanted to see Christian have a decent run with that strap, but he is 40 and he honestly should get back in the WHC scene anyway. I'd like to know what happened with him and Cody Rhodes? Haven't seen Cody since MITB...i guess they scrapped that angle and are working on something else for both of them.

Everything Rock did was great. The wedding was entertaining, didn't see AJ as GM coming. The stuff with Heath Slater/Lita/The APA/the legends was pretty good too. I really enjoyed the title match between Cena and Punk, I just wish they'd get Big Show the hell outta the picture all together. Doubt what we saw from Punk was a full blown heel turn being that he's got his new DVD coming out, he's on the cover of WWE '13, etc etc. I'd have to guess he'll be more of a "tweener" now. And the Brock/Heyman/Triple H/Stephanie segment was pretty good as well. Glad to see Triple H and Lesnar actually go after each other and mix it up a little bit.

All in all, great show. Gonna be hard to top next week when the legends aren't there to carry the show. However...i think they used some of the young guys absolutely right last night to help push them for the future off the heels of the 1,000th Raw. Should be interesting to see where they go from here....starting with Smackdown.

  3. Awesome Kong aka Karma has been released

Don't think so. Looks like it was just a website screw up.

lol....WWE botched the alumni section on their twitter account. I can't find anything concrete saying she's been released.

edit: well she's officially been moved to the alumni section on wwe.com...so i dunno maybe she has been released. I'll wait until i see something official though before buying into the hype. This could be some kind of work for her to make a comeback....

  4. That's super.

TNA is putting on multiple four-star matches with solid stories on a PPV. WWE is bringing out a movie star to spout catch-phrases for the millionth time.

Currently' date=' the WWE's biggest selling points are : 1) an 80 pound woman, 2) a movie star who shows up every six months, 3) a midget, and 4) announcers wrestling.[/quote']

I think that's a bit unfair, but hey if TNA is your thing more power to you. However, i'm not getting behind a company who brings in Brooke Hogan to be the head of their female division....totally stupid. And if we're gonna talk terrible storylines lets talk about AJ/Dixie and Joseph Park/Abyss.....two of the dumbest storylines going on in pro wrestling imo.

WWE is definitley cashing in on the success of AJ, and they'd be stupid not to. Who cares if she's 80 pounds? She's the best female wrestler they have not named Beth or Nattie, and she's MUCH smaller in stature than either of those two. As far as the Rock goes.....he's coming back to celebrate the 1,000th episode and supposedly announce some sort of interest in chasing the WWE title.

Give me the Rock over any single wrestler on TNA's roster. Anyone. Call me a biased attitude era fan, but it is what it is.

The WWE isn't using Hornswoggle as a selling point....come on now. He's a small part of the big show, nothing more nothing less.

I absolutely hated watching Lawler vs Cole last night....so i'll give you that one.

  5. Yeah, Sinister I knew what you meant. bring back some of these old guys for the 1,000th episode, and the buildup to it. Personally, i think they're doing a decent job with it so far. They used Slaughter and Duggan on Smackdown on Tuesday, and that's enough thank you. I don't wanna see those guys on Raw, we see them all the time. I like how they're bringing back some faces who have been away from a WWE ring for a while.

And what killed WCW was Bischoff/Hogan/Russo....they all had a pretty big hand in destroying that company. It wasn't even necessarily the older stars like Macho, Hogan, Piper, Flair etc.....it was the fact that backstage became like an even worse version of the Clique in WWF. Nash was getting control to do his own booking, Hogan the same and more. Bischoff drove the company into the ground through numerous terrible decisions wrestling wise and financially speaking. Russo couldn't book a decent angle to save his life, and i mean let's be honest, he put the WHC on David Arquette...that's inexcusable. WCW was destroyed from the inside out, not from the outside in. It wasn't the talent that killed WCW, it was the powers that be.

  6. Three more shows until the 1,000th episode., a couple things about that.....

First, i have no knowledge of this, i haven't heard any rumors...but if i had to guess, i'd say the Rock won't be at the 1,000th epsiode. Just a gut feeling with all the movies and everything he's tied up with right now. I do however think it's a very good possibility that we see Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret Hart.....along with the DX reunion of course. I also wouldn't rule out an appearance by Mike Tyson seeing as he's been doing promos for WWE '13 and will be a playable character if you preorder at some places.

Second, i'm gonna throw a couple names out there who I think are likely to face Heath Slater in these next few weeks leading up to the 1,000th. Road Dogg Jesse James, Viscera/Mabel, Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, and Lombardi as the Brooklyn Brawler.

And as far as Lombardi goes....yes i'd venture to say that he's made a very wealthy career for himself from being a nobody. He looks to have had steady employment in one form or another from WWE as LKB said, since 1983.

lol, here's an actual lombardi win.....during his Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz days.

  7. I think they're taking their time with Ryback...some think he's not polished enough in the ring. So yeah i guess he's still too green at the moment. Plus i think they're gonna put him in the ring with 3 guys before they can find a suitable heel to come out and challenge him. My guess is that his first actual challenge will come in the form of a Heath Slater or a Michael McGillicuty...something like that.

As for Sandow....he's got a Money In The Bank qualifying match against Zack Ryder tonight. I doubt he'll lose that to Ryder....so possibly look for Sandow in the World Heavyweight Championship MITB match.....there are probably spoilers out there for tonight's smackdown, but i haven't read them if so.

  8. A couple things....Trizz, i don't watch TNA regularly...or very much at all for that matter, but i do know about the attack on Sting. I heard that it was simply a way to get him off tv for a while to feature the BFG series they've been running with. I've heard that when he returns they may run with the attack as an angle, or they may sweep it under the rug all together.

As it pertains to Cena....it's funny because the WWE's target audience actually aren't 9 year olds....their demographics on their own website say otherwise. http://corporate.wwe.com/company/overview.jsp

Like i said, i don't expect the attitude era to come back....but not to kick it up just a notch is absurd. The programming has been overly boring, and one talent is the same as the next. Let these guys branch out and become something on their own instead of just burying them when the "gimmick" you gave them isn't getting over with fans.

  9. I'm worried about that too...i'm not sure he fits the pg era mold at all. Hopefully with the 1,000 episode of Raw they're going to usher in a somewhat, slightly more provocative new era. I know we won't be seeing another attitude era anytime soon. But they've gotta do something to spice up the product. Hopefully, they let Ambrose and some of these other guys show what they're capable of.

  10. The evil heel you guys so desperately want is coming....i'm hearing rumors that he may even have a match on Raw for the 1,000 episode. If they use the guy right, he's exactly what you're looking for....that man is Dean Ambrose. If you don't know who he is...look at his work in FCW. Around Wrestlemania he had a nice little twitter/off air feud with Mick Foley about the affects of Mick Foley's generation influencing and hurting young wrestlers such as himself. He's a twisted dude....he could pull off the "evil" thing well if WWE uses him right.

Just so you know how high people in the business are on this kid.....CM Punk has been quoted as calling him "the WWE's secret weapon".

  11. I strongly disagree with most of the opinions in here about last night's Raw. Last night was the best Raw in MONTHS, hands down. Might not have been great, might not have been the best ever, but someone in creative woke up last night.

The entire Kane/Punk/Bryan/AJ fued is lightning right now. AJ is proving herself to be the best diva since probably Trish. I never cared for AJ much, but Crazy AJ is carrying that angle right now. I mean, if it doesn't end in a "AJ helps Bryan win the title at No Way Out by screwing Kane AND Punk", they're completely ruining the payoff. But i honestly think that's where it's going...and that's a hell of a lot better continuity wise, and storyline wise than the crap we've been fed lately.

The four way match...spectacular. Predictable as hell of course, but the more "serious/dedicated" side of Ziggler is refreshing. I like the "showoff", but give the dude a mean streak and let's see what he does. Khali was simply filler as usual, but the three of them pinning him was decent. Ziggler pinning Swagger was just what they needed to further split him away from Swags/Vickie. Everyone knew Christian wasn't going to win being that he's a face, and the IC champ. It sucks that Sheamus is going to continue as champ and beat Ziggler at No Way Out, but at least it'll be entertaining.

The cage match...again, Show winning was obvious. But a cage match on Raw....yes please. Reminds me of the attitude era just a bit. Kofi was showing a little bit of that "mean streak" that i think they've given Ziggler...and i thought it worked well even though he got squashed.

Ryback needs a real opponent. Get him in a feud with the man in my sig and soon! Don't do the same stupid win-streak thing with Ryback or the comparisons to Goldberg will never end. Either get him in a feud with Sandow or Cessaro, and FAST.

Vader is 58 years old, but for a guy his size and his age, he did alright. I'm interested to see who the other "former Raw main eventers" that will appear between now and the 23rd are. They said there would be one each week. If they serve us Duggan, Slaughter, Tony Atlas, Hillbilly Jim, Dusty Rhodes or any of the other regulars who show up all the time, i'll be dissapointed. BUT, Pyscho Sid said he was approached by WWE for an appearance a couple months back....so that's a possibility and would be something different. There's a couple others that are rumored to be involved as well.

McMahon...the slam on JR was tasteless as all his **** towards JR always is.The swing from Big Show was a notorious whiff, but what are you gonna do? I think Big Johnny gets fired and quickly rehired in a MUCH smaller role. He's already been moved as head of talent relations from the official site. He's been replaced by Triple H i believe. The McMahon stuff was sort of interesting, but didn't make the show to me. The IDEA of him being around and ruffling everyone's feathers (even though he's always there anyway) worked well on tv though and that was the point.

Overall though, much better Raw than what i've seen lately, and for it being 3 hours i was impressed.

  12. Can somebody enlighten me on how exactly Kofi 'botched' that match? I'm watching it without sound at work...

    It's been debated.

Some say Orton was pissed because Kofi sold Dibiase's move to get Kofi off of Orton in the corner. Which, in that case makes it Dibiase's botch in my eyes, but I guess Orton is said to have taken it out on Kofi because he thought Kofi should have had more sense than to sell the move. In other words, he was mad at Kofi because he sold Dibiase's attack when he shouldn't have, making it look unbelievable to the fans.

The other explanation i've heard is that Orton wanted to go for the skull punt, and Kofi got up too soon. Orton pushed him down and Kofi got up again which drove Randy nuts. He had to do his fist pounding taunt quickly while Kofi was already on his feet, then hit him with a less than forgiving RKO. Watch the way Orton quickly jerks his head in frustration right before he hits it.

Those are the only explanations i've heard for it anywas. I'll tell ya something though, Kofi's a professional laying there listening to Orton's little hissy fit. I can't believe dude threw a tantrum like that in the ring....he's been known to be a freakin' hot head.

  13. lol, so does the AA become the FU again?

I don't see a full Cena heel turn...it would be awesome, but i don't see it. I see them teasing it, and having people wonder if he's going to snap. They keep using these guys like Kane, Rock, now Brock, from what i've been hearing possibly even Batista down the line to "come back" and stomp all over what John Cena has been the face of for years now. i honestly think they're gonna have him get so beaten down buy these guys verbally, physically, and mentally that they're going to put him in the role where everyone starts feeling sorry for him. Without ever really turning heel, he'll probably gain his full on "face of the company" charm again in time for a huge match at Summer Slam.

Machine Gun Kelly had some interesting comments at Wrestlemania right before Cena came out, about Cena being the "underdog" in the match. I think they're putting Cena against all these guys he could potentially be an "underdog" against because he hasn't been for so long. Kane started trying to break him down by attempting to get Cena to "embrace the hate". Next, a year long feud culminates in a devastating loss at Wrestlemania at the hands of the Rock....so what's in store next with Brock Lesnar? His size and stature, along with the fact that he's been gone for what, 8 years or so, casts John Cena in the roll of the underdog yet again.

Basically, instead of making him a "heel" and destroying a huge portion of their sales...they're going to tease a heel turn and actually turn the face of the company into an "underdog", until he "gets his mojo" back, and begins getting some fans back on his side. I could see it playing out MORE like that than a full on heel turn....simply because it's the WWE and John Cena.
