http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=4359&zoneid=2 Sean "The Chemically Enhanced Muscle Shark" Sherk  all jokes aside, with all the positive and mainstream coverage MMA has been receiving, the last thing we need is this sport being linked to steroid abuse. edit: http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=4358&zoneid=13 Franca tested positive too. Pending appeals both will be suspended for a 1 year under the current athletic commission (although only Sherk is appealing)

this is why alot of people who have followed the sport for a long time, hate The Ultimate Fighter. the winners of those shows are often spoonfed opponents and built up to be better than they actually are. The only fighter who wasn't spoonfed was Diego, other than that, all their winners have had cans for their couple of fights in the UFC. Bisping is a good fighter who needs to be tested, the fact that he was almost submitted by Elvis Sinosic tells me alot more about Bisping than any of his wins thus far. that being said Bisping could very well lose against Hamill. Bisping by all accounts is the better fighter, but Hamill is ridiculously strong and has great wrestling. i could see Hamill winning a very very boring 3 round decision.

the last time Jardine was in the cage, this happened: now he gets to headline a PPV. makes perfect sense. i usually don't get upset about ufc matchmaking, but this match if it happens will really bother me. there is no possible justification for this bout to happen

http://ufcjunkie.com/2007/07/13/ufcjunkiecom-exclusive-chuck-liddell-vs-keith-jardine-to-headline-ufc-76/ i swear if this happens, i will find away to slap the hell out of Dana White and UFC matchmaker Joe Silva

it should be noted that this is a pre-rendered clip of gamplay action, and that the final version of the game may not look like this, but if it does :notworthy :

i see your point, but Pride i've accepted the fact that Pride is dead. UFC will use that acquisition to get most of their fighters and bring them to UFC or the WEC, but i don't think we'll see the proposed "superbowl" of MMA ppv, or another pride ppv for that matter. i can call it a unification bout because u have the two champions of each org. facing each other. both are familiar with the cage so it shouldn't be a problem. the worst thing the UFC could do is keep multiple titles for any 1 weight division. that is a major reason boxing is the way it is now. there 20 champions for each weight-class. the UFC has it right, keeping one title or champion, per weight class

yes indeed. although i'm sure it will be multi-platform, it better come out for 360. hopefully the gameplay is solid. theres alot to mma, that could make for a complex fighting system. hopefully they can find a balance between staying true to the product, while making it fun to play it need to have a deep career mode, with a good create-a-fighter. THQ usually does a pretty good job with combat games so i think this will come out good. i'll be getting this day it drops, unless they completely blow the fighting system

i don't think tito would've choked him out. it looked as tho, rashad glanced at the ref (still a mistake on his part) while he was in the process of deducting a point from ortiz. and you could argue that had ortiz not grabbed the cage he wouldn't have gotten the position on rashad that he did. i think rashad takes the rematch, as i don't think he will be as tentative as he was in the early rounds.

people talk about Silva's striking, but they tend to leave out how good he is defending himself on the ground. before the fight with Nate people said he had a weak takedown defense because of the Lutter fight (even though Silva had surgery on both knees just 11weeks before that fight). his jiu-jitsu is great at defending subs, and getting back to his feet. not to mention he pretty good at striking off his back. take a look at this transition, that effectively set up the end for Nate (who is a ground wizard in his own right): Silva is as well-rounded a fighter that there is in the ufc at the moment. if the fight is standing he going to pick you apart. if you take him down, he has the ability to defend submissions, apply his own submissions, or use his jiu-jitsu to get back to his feet. on top of everything he's an extremely focused fighter and takes every fight seriously, and shows respect to his opponents after KO'ng them  Silva is goin to hold that MW belt for a long time. now that i think of it, i would much rather see Hendo fight Silva than Rampage, that would have the potential to be a classic fight :2cents:

ufc announced that Sherk will defend his title against BJ Penn in November. should be a great fight, if BJ doesn't gas, he should take it. they also announced an immediate rematch between Tito & Rashad

tito had a point takin at the end of the round for holding the fence. tito had a guillotine in late to end the round, probably wins the round because of it. round 2 to tito.

tito gets the first round based on the early takedown, neither fighter did much besides that. round 1 tito

rd.5 mirrors the other rounds of the fight. sean sherk won every round convincingly. dominant performance, even though he never actually hurt Franca
  24. StillUnknown

    Anything MMA, except thumb wrestling

rd.4 is almost exactly identical to rd.2. franca caught him with a knee that did a little damage, but he still spends the majority of the round on his back. round 4 to sherk again. why the fans are booing i have no idea, the last few ppv's it seems like they've been booing for next to no reason.
  25. StillUnknown

    Anything MMA, except thumb wrestling

sherk is passing through franca's guard with absolute ease. sherk really isn't damaging franca, but he is controlling this fight on the mat and winning easily right now. round 3 to Sherk
