i have every CroCop MMA fight in my collection, and quite a few of his K-1 fights. its alarming how quickly he fell off i hope he regains it as well. although he might be better off signing with Affliction since that where the top talent in the HW division is him vs. Overeem would be a great fight. Overeem seems motivated to beat on what he sees as a fading CroCop

there's not a problem with the success of his standup, because it is very successful. it just that it can be boring alot of times. lay n pray is successful as well, but its not exciting.

De La Hoya/Pacquiao is not going to happen. DLH wanted a 70/30 split, Pacquiao was willing to go 60/40 in favor of DLH. kinda unfair for DLH to ask for 70% when Pacman is a proven draw in his own right. 60/40 is more than fair imo. no word yet on who Oscar will target next for his last fight. i doubt he gives Margarito the payday because Margarito could actually do some serious damage to him, and he won't want that possibilty in his last fight. unless something drastic happens in the near future, Pacquiao is going to fight Humberto Soto Nov.1

Machida's stand up is equivalent to a wrestler's lay n pray. guys like him will have to beat virtually everyone in the division before they get a shot at the title remember it wasn't long ago that Sherk was getting boo'd by the crowd for being a "lay n pray" type with the belt

i think the whole "its better to lose in a war, than to win a boring fight" does hold some weight. with the evolution of the sport, we've seen classic fights that were fought with skill, not just brawling. i completely agree with the poster who said something along the lines of if you're going to win boring, you have pretty much better stay undefeated. nobody likes to see a fight hit the ground and stall. the Maia/McDonald fight spent most of the fight on the ground and the crowd never boo'd once because it was still exciting. then you have other fights were fighters don't even attempt to pass or do anything offensive. as long as MMA is on any form of TV, you have to take excitement seriously, otherwise you risk diminishing your audience.

i didn't have a problem with what he did. its his 3rd MMA fight and he dominated a legit HW fighter, he deserved to celebrate.

the knee injury may have saved Mark Coleman's life. after seeing how Brock turned Heath's face to hamburger meat, i would've hated to see what would've happened to Coleman

Dana said in the post fight press conference that the rematch between GSP and Penn is next for both fighters, although he didn't say what event it would happen at. just guessing, but the year end event is probably when it happens

the following fighters all received $60k bonuses after the event: GSP & Fitch: fight of the night Demian Maia: submission of the night Rob Emerson: KO of the night maybe because i like the ground game, but i thought Maia/McDonald should've gotten fight of the night, it was more competitive than GSP/Fitch

Campbell's not a big enough name to draw interest from Pacquiao. it would be one helluva fight though. Campbell don't back down from anyone. he's figting in september the 135lb division will have 3 FOTY type fights in back to back weeks in september: Sept 6th: Juan Diaz vs. Michael Katsidis Sept 13th: Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Joel Casamayor; Nate Campbell vs. Joan Guzman that is 2 damn good weeks of boxing:notworthy

good matchup, but UFC's not going to throw 2 prospects who they hope to be the future of the HW division together so soon. Cain is a little bit more well rounded, but i think that size difference would be tough for him to overcome i don't think there is a fighter in MMA today that can stop Brock from taking them down to be honest

the only HW's i see giving Brock problems are Big Nog, Werdum, Mir, and maybe Gonzaga. unless you have some good bjj, brock would at the very least lay n pray his way to a victory against every other UFC heavyweight

i was with you until i got this statement:laugh: no denying GSP's skills, but i got him 3rd on p4p list behind Fedor & Anderson. i can understand the argument for putting him above Anderson even though i don't agree, but i dont see how you can argue for him ahead of Fedor

i'm not so certain about that. the Featherweights & bantamweights usually get the biggest receptions from the crowds in the WEC the fights tend to be perpetual motion, crowds tend to like that sort of thing

Torres has said after he defends the 135 title a couple more times, he wants to move up to fight Faber at 145. now thats a fight i definitely want to see

i'm not seeing Huerta as the future. any good wrestler will be able to beat him, his technique is missing, he's very wild, with not much of a wrestling base. i see him getting controled in alot of fights Lesnar has some scary potential if he's a fast learner. 265-280lbs people should not be able to move that fast.

he still doesn't know a thing offensive BJJ. he probably just feels more comfortable being able to control and ground n pound
