after stinking out the joint in his last fight, Wlad better be on some "seek and destroy" **** anything less than dominant KO victory for Wlad would be bad for him

i don't agree with the reason you listed for why he retired. he may have not cleaned out WW but he damn sure cleaned out 130 & 135. He was manny pacquiao before Pacquiao. he "retired" because he really doesn't have anything left to prove in boxing. i'm not going to knock any fighter for getting out of the game while still in good health.

all things considered Zab probably has more physical tools than Floyd. his hand are just as fast, but Zab definitely has more power. the difference is Floyd is so much smarter in the ring than Zab. To me thats Floyd's most underrated weapon, he is an absolute student of the game. Boxing at its core is a science and Floyd mastered it. He and his team are great at gameplanning and breaking down their opponent.

i keep remembering how Jake O'Brien took Herring down whenever he wanted. then i remember that Herring couldn't defend a takedown from Cheick Kongo of all people. Heath better hope Brock comes in wanting to stand for some reason

some damn good fights on 87. i'm hoping Lesnar wins just throw some excitement into the HW division. Huerta vs. I Finish Fights should be good for as long as it lasts.

two of the judges scored that fight 29-28 for Nog, giving Herring the 1st round.

i've been thinking for quite awhile now he could be an absolute beast and dominate 140lbs. he's only 5'8, i don't think making the weight would be that big an issue.

since we talking about welterweight, who do you guys thing Andre Berto should fight next? i'm thinking he should get the winner of Josh Clottey/Zab Judah

i had the fight a draw when i scored it. it was a competitive fight throughout, neither fighter was outclassed

i think they do judge on damage. most people gave Herring the 1st round against Nog solely for the leg kick. before that leg kick, he hadn't done **** in that first round.

alot of people feel Taylor is overrated (i'm not one of them). outside of Jermain Taylor, their level of comp is similar though. Cotto beat Mosely because Mosely played his game. Shane actually stood toe to toe with Cotto for alot of that fight. He did better and won rounds when he would box Cotto. there is no way on earth Mayweather would stand toe to toe with Cotto. i don't think Cotto has the handspeed to bother Mayweather's defense. Also Cotto still isn't moving his head enough defensively, i think Mayweather would be able to exploit that. Cotto's only hope in that fight would be to land a clean devastating shot to Mayweather's body to slow him down. i think Floyd would win a comfortable UD.

stop using research to defeat my arguments :finger:  Roy who started at 160 (i think), defeating any heavyweight is a big accomplishment. Ruiz was a legit heavyweight contender, its not like he fought the bottom of the barrell. i would give Abraham about a 35-40% chance in that fight. Pavlik's straight punches would bother him, but he is an excellent counter-puncher with KO power in both hands. Pavlik can be dropped and hurt as Taylor proved in the 2nd round of their first fight. Abraham hasn't proved much, but his list of competition is very similar to Pavlik's.

only person i see with a chance at beating Pavlik is Arthur Abraham. i would favor Pavlik in the fight, but it would be classic. those are the two i want to see fight to unify the MW division.

Cotto was very protected in his fights coming up, outside of Mosely he hasn't faced any serious threats to beat him. His people turned down a fight with Mayweather a couple of years ago. i agree with what you said about Calzaghe i can't agree with not being impressed by Roy Jones Jr. i don't understand the logic of blaming a guy for the era he was born in. Roy may not have had competiton, but he still beat and often embarrassed some poeple. he beat Toney & B-Hop. Its not just that he was a dominant champ, he did things in the ring you just didn't expect.

even though Dana said himself that the Cote/Almeida fight was boring, Cote is scheduled to get the winner of A.Silva/Okami which is going to happen later this year. that being said, Dana's word regarding a promise of a title shot isn't exactly reliable

Rampage is one of my 5 favorite fighters right now, i didn't want to see him lose either. the fact that he got Forrest in the powerbomb, despite his hurt knee and considering how big Forrest is, just shows u how strong that dude is  honestly since it was so extremely close, and there really is no other clear cut #1 contender, i wouldn't be surprised if they did an immediate rematch.

i had it a draw personally. i think unanimous doesn't have quite the same definition in this instance. the only round i think all the judges agreed on was the 2nd.

i understand that logic, i just don't agree with it. winning on points even if its close, is still a win. in some cases you only get one crack at a title, if i'm the one competing, i wouldn't care if it was dominant KO victory or razor-thin decision that went my way, a win is a win. the same standard has to be applied to all matches imo.

Almeida is truly elite on the ground (competed in several ADCC tourney's), but despite what Rogan says, his standup is nonexistent. he's a one trick pony right now, that doesn't fly in today's MMA. 185 could have their own BJJ submission competition and it would be classic: Jacare Demian Maia Pahlares Fihlo Almeida Marquardt Lister Leites Lutter (the michael jordan of BJJ according to Mike Goldberg  )

they usually only promote the main event & the "co-main event". Cote/Almeida had more title implications, thus it gets more promotion

that tournament style wouldn't work from a business standpoint. championship matches = bigger buyrates. no way the UFC would risk losing that type of revenue i wouldn't mind seeing a Dream style tourney between the lhw contender to see who should be getting the next couple of shots Machida is definitely in the championship mix, he stopped Sokodjou, Franklin, beat BJ (yeah he was way out of his weight, but you still have to fight). more importantly outside of a late triangle by Tito, i can't remember Machida ever being in danger of losing a fight.

i'm thinking Hendo may be staying at 185 as he rumored to be fighting Pahlares @ UFC 88 Bisping is at 185, althought Franklin is moving up the light heavyweight division is practically begging for a tourney

pretty good job on that list, you only left out Thiago Silva

exactly. this is why is wish the UFC had an official and public ranking system. right now it seems all you need is two straight victories regardless of competition and you get a title shot. Chuck will get a shot if he beats rampage Mir is getting a shot after being destroyed by Vera & beating Hardonk & Lesnar in his last 3 fights. how Dana can justify this with a straight face is beyond me. i think this scenario is certainly possible. but i think Dana will go with Wandy vs. Page pretty soon. i could see Anderson facing someone like Thiago Silva if he gets past Irving, and should he beat Thiago Silva, he'll probably get a shot. i would love to see Thiago vs. Anderson
