  1. How many people a year die in boxing, 6? WTF is a standing 8 count? Do they really think in 8 seconds dude is going to be okay? Boxing is as barbaric as it gets. Guy gets dropped. Can barely stand up with the help of the ropes. The ref asks "Are you good". Boxer replies "Tuesday" Ref lets them continue. Now fast forward 5 years later. Guy can hardly speak, Don King has ripped off millions from him and so he has to fight to make more money and he gets hit in the head 80 times in a fight and that's not even county sparring.
  2. Chuck does get a percentage of the PPV. Tickets don't sell out in minutes. Zuffa comps tickets to every bout. The UFC does make some serious coin. There is so many bonuses that are out of the limelight that we don't know about. Can't forget about the sponsers for the fights. As for Randy, Chuck is the face of the UFC. Randy is a nice feel good story, but Chuck is the one that was on Conan, MTV, ESPN, ESPN the Magizine etc. etc. Randy signed a contract and now is mad about the contract he signed, so he is walking away. The money is just starting to roll in for MMA
  3. ARLOVSKI REP REFUTES REPORT http://thefightnetwork.com/news_detail.php?nid=5698
  4. I was waiting for Cote to do what he did to Grove. I knew he had it in him (Heavy hands) it just had to come together. Anybody watch the fights on HDNet?
  5. I agree. To many good 205' out there for him to compete against. Do you think he could cut the wait?
  6. Evan has been at 185 for a couple of years. His first fight with Franklin in 2003 was when he started fighting at 185. His last fight at 205 was against Shannon Ritch at a event called FCFF, Full Contact Fighting Federation out of Oregon. That event ended becoming Strike Force that is owned by Randy Coutre and Matt Linland
  7. Bisping will still have his hands full at 185. Leaving Silva at of it, he has to beat Franklin, Dan Henderson, Dean Lister (To people who don't know, The Boogeyman, is one of the best grapplers in the world), Evan Tanner (He's comg back) Nathan Marquardt . The list goes on and on. But I agree with you, Franklin and Silva are out of his league, let alone the ones I mention above
  8. Yea, sucks we have to wait that long for it, but we have this card on Dec. 29 to occupy us: http://79.ufc.com/ And then this card on Jan. 19th http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=eventDetail.fightCard&eid=1001 And then this Jan. 23rd. http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.detail&gid=9117 And then this on Feb, 2nd http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=EventDetail.FightCard&eid=1023 I don't know why they don't show the other fights, but this is them: Tim Sylvia vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria Tyson Griffin vs. Gleison Tibau Nate Marwuardt vs. Thales Leites Alan Belcher vs. Ricardo Almeida Terry Martin vs. Marvin Eastman Thomas Drwal vs. David Heath And then UFC 82 on March 1st. Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson Jon Fitch vs. Akihiro Gono John Halverson vs. Jorge Gurgel Josh Koschecl vs. Dustin Hazelett Other fights TBA. And that's only the UFC. You have the HDNets Fights to night. IFL Gran Prix finals on Dec. 29th. M-1 on Dec. 31st. The WCO on Jan. 12th with Babalu and Vernon White. Ricco Rodriguez and Mike Kyle. Gustavo Machado and Joe Riggs. Mark Kerr is back in action against Rick Roofus. Also Cabbage and Tiki are fighting on the card. MMA is blowing up
  9. I agree. Dirty boxing is gonna play a big part in this fight. The clinch game is the weakest part of Page's game. I don't care who wins this fight, I just want a war
  10. I agree. Randy can game plan like nobody else. But the problem fighting Page is, he is so strong and can take a beating. Page is a wrestler first. So to come in and try toshot to take him down won't work. Page doesn't stand straight up like a striker. He crouches a little waiting for the shot. And his strength is amazing. If you saw his KO win over Ricardo Arona in Pride, you'll know just how strong he is. They were on the ground, with Page on top. Arona was holding both of Page's hands to his stomach. In one motion Page stands up, picks Arona up over his head and slams him down and KO's him. The game plan that Forrest has to have is, hurt or get Page off his game in the standup and then go for the clinch, from there work for the double leg and get him down. Forrest has some decent Jui Jitsu so submitting Page isn't out of the question
  11. Cuban has the money to do it. He has Guy Mezger running the org. for him. Guy has fought for a long time and knows alot of people. Guys a good dude and love the sport so he's gonna get good free agents and up and comers. Cuban also has a show on HDNet called: Inside MMA with Kenny Rice and Bas Rutten running the show. They have a panel of three guests, usually 2 fighters and a MMA writer. A pretty good show.
  12. It's HDNet. You have to have the Hi-Def package to have it. To me, it's the best channel on TV. They show concerts (Godsmack, Collective Soul, Styx etc. etc.) MMA fights, boxing, the NHL, Nascar Replay, Dan Rather Reports, shows like The Black Connelly's, Torchwood, Arrested Development and Dead Like Me. It's own by Mark Cuban who is a big MMA Fan. On New Years Eve he is broadcastng the first show of the new MMA league M-1 that Fedor signed to. Also on the card is Gilbert Melendez, Kazuo Misaki, Luiz Azeredo, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Murilo Bustamante, Hayoto "Mach" Sakurai and Gesias "JZ" Calvancanti . I think that they are try to become the new Pride. They signed Ricardo Arona, Josh Barnett and Mark Hunt.
  13. The website is: MMAPlayground.com. The best MMA site on the net. We have over 18,000 members. You can also win alot of money in the games we do. Check it out if you get a chance. If you get HDNet (Mark Cuban owns it) They are having their second fight card Staurday night http://www.hdnetfights.com/
  14. I'm a moderator on a MMA website. We get alot of scoops. Forrest has to learn knees. It's what Wanderia Silva use to crush Rampage twice in Pride and Rua used to beat him. Griffin needs to use the clinch, to dirty boxing and then take Page down. Just standing and banging, Page is to good at blocking and will slam Griffin
  15. Rua had torn is ACL before the fight and has had surgery since. Rua destroyed Ramapage. KO'd him in the first round. His only other loses are to Mark Coleman (A HW. Coleman went for the takedown and Rua posted and dislocated his elbow) and he lost to Reneto Sobaral (Another HW who beat Rua, Tervor Prangley and Jeremy Horn all in one night to win a IFC turnoment) Rua has KO's Alistir Overeem twice. Submitted Kevin Randleman. Beat Lil Nog by deciosn and then KO'd Ricardo Arona to win a Pride Torny. KO's Akira Shoji and Akihiro Gono. Also has a decision win over Nakamura. Plus he has won 3 Mecca fights in Brazil that are bareknuckle anything goes. He is only 26 and hasn't really reached his prime yet. To say Griffin needs more in his arsenal to beat Rampage, I don't think thats true.
  16. Sorry bro, Curran only fought in Pride once. This was his 4th fight in the WEC. He's fought in the UFC, KOTC (King Of The Cage) Hook-n-Shoot, FCC (Freestyle Combat Challenge) and other smaller shows. He's been defeated at 145lbs 4 times. He lost to Hatsu Hioki at Pride Bushido 12 by decision. He lost to Norifumi Yamamoto at Super Brawl 29 ( It's held in Hawaii) by decision. He lost to Ivan Menjvar at UCC 10 (Held in Canada) by decision and he lost to Anthony Hamlett by KO in Hook-n-Shoot.
