  1. It is another example of being like the Scarecrow on the Wizard of Oz when he sings "If I only had a brain." It is know as the Wizard of Oz Syndrome. These guys come into the league and they go to indoctrination for rookies where they are taught the rules to keep them out of trouble. I guess they fell asleep.
  2. This team will not win another game with these clown show coaching staff
  3. if you look at this franchise from the beginning it hasn't had this tradition of winning like other of the old franchises. There are only 5 coaches with a winning record. Ray Flaherty with a record of 54-12-3 .720 1937 and 1942 NFL Champions 2-2 in 4 playoff appearances Dutch Bergman 6-3-1 .667 Lost NFL Championship to NY Giants 1943 1-1 in 2 playoff appearances Dudley DeGroot 14-5-1 .737 Lost NFL Championship to Cleveland Rams 0-1 in 1 Playoff appearances Vince Lombardi 7-5-2 . 583 George Allen 67-30-1 .691 Lost Super Bowl 1971 2-5 in 7 Playoff appearances Joe Gibbs1 124-60 .674 overall record of 154-94 .621 1982, 1987, and 1991 Super Bowl Champs 16-5 in 21 Playoff appearances. They made the playoffs in the 90 years that this franchise has been around 43 times with a 23-20 record with Joe Gibbs making the playoff 21 times with a 16-5 record and George Allen making the playoffs 7 times with a 2-5 record. So no matter who the owner was, the coach they employed, or what era it happened in this team only had "Glory Years" from 1936-1945 and 1971-1992 with Vince Lombardi in 1969 being out side of that time frame which is in total 20 years. In those years only Jack Pardee and Joe Gibbs recorded a 2 losing seasons. So only a 95 year or older would even seen those two eras. I was lucky enough to watch this franchise play in the 4 Super Bowls with the only loss was in 1971 when George Allen's "Over the Hill Gang" lost to the only Undefeated Team to win the Super Bowl in NFL History. The 25 years from 1946-1970 there were no playoff appearances and in total of 51 years the franchise has missed the playoffs.
  4. Same problems different year. Preseason is a glimpse of how your team will perform at the start of the season. Vanilla offense and defense still shows how a team executes together. If you can't execute during that time what makes you think that during the season you are going to do it? They can make all the excuses of not having your 1st team starting _______ (fill in the black) but during the season you have injuries that occur so that guy might not be there and the other guy is. I know that they are trying to evaluate players but your #1's need to show some sort of continuity, that you can sustain drives, score points and hold other defenses on 3rd downs. We all see the potential and the talent on this team but I feel it is not utilized in the proper way due to poor technique, poor game planning, poor adjustments and poor coaching. Del Rio needs to show that he can still coach a defense and Scott Turner needs to do a better job of play calling otherwise this team will lose to the Jags and the Lions this year or barely beat them. I might be wrong but this has become a trend with this team for the last 3 years.
  5. What I heard is that he is in last part of his deal which is base salary is around $28 mil and that if he doesn't work out this year we can cut him with zero Cap hit. So I believe we are going to draft a QB to sit behind him for a year . So it is a cap friendly deal for us IMHO
  6. I don't know what he will bring but his start of his Washington Football/Commander playing career he had a groin injury in Training camp and never really saw the field that much. He hasn't played a full season except last season where he missed on game which was also his best one to date. He had a injured ankle which required surgery in 2017, his rookie year, which has been his only other injury. Also he had improved each of his last two years in Carolina. So I can see giving him one more year to prove he is worth keeping.
  7. They looked like they heard all the hype everyone was talking about being a top 5 defense an forgot to come out and play. The LB is still the worst spot on the team. The Dl can't expect to tae up the blocks and the LBs to be out of position. Jon Bostic is terrible as LB. He was always trying to get out to his guy because he plays to far inside. Herbert had no pressure in his face and anyone could have sat back in the pocket and complete those passes. I thought we upgraded our CB's but they looked lost out there. Too many holes in the defense. It is going to be a long season with a lot of losing against the top tier teams that they will face.
  8. All of this bad for anyone involved but I don't trust the Washington Post in their reporting anything accurate. What strikes me also funny is the rumor that Jeff Bezos interest in owning an NFL franchise has been linked to this story. OH! That's right he owns the Washington Post. Just seems too much of a coincidence for me.
  9. I think there is always some truth in what the OPer said but I also feel that some of the stuff is also self induced. But I see a lot of calls that normally don't get called by officials get called on us or they see it and either don't call it or they call it and someone totally out of position comes in and overturns it. So I agree that there are a lot of questions about these things but at the end of the day it is about how you perform and do your job that makes the difference. Mara did take advantage of his positional power and screwed both the Redskins and the Cowboys. But if you really want this all to stop. The Head Coach, GM, or President of the Team or all three need to make a stand and tell the players that all of the crap of internal fighting and finger point stops now. That if they don't perform or gets a penalty that cost them from being successful then they will either get benched or fined or both depending on the severity of the penalty. Then back it up. That way you holding them and the team accountable for their actions. It has to apply to everyone without exceptions. That will weed out the "Energy Vampires." They are the ones that suck the energy out of the team. You can then get rid of them and provide a winning culture like in New England and Pittsburg. You don't see those two teams having leaks or bad things happen to them over and over again.
  10. I hate all the Cowboy "love-fest" that is going on also. Those ***holes and retards aren't that much better than us. As I posted in this forum, they aren't any better than the Redskins. At least we can win a playoff game in the last 10 years. Every year they get picked as the Super BOwl favorites and for what? Because Jerry Jones is going to save the troubled players of the NFL one player at a time. So he added TO, Tank Johnson, and Adam "Don't call me Pacman any more" Jones. So what? does that make them the automatic winner of the Super Bowl entry for the NFC? No. If you really look at their talent and then at ours, there really isn't any difference. Sure you can toss the Tony Romo regular season QB rating at us but he S**Ks during the playoffs. He is really good but he isn't Brett Favre, his idol, and trying to play like him is going to get you the same results that Favre got. A lot of regular season wins but nothing else to show for it. Yes, Brett Favre won a Super Bowl but lost a lot of opportunities because of his gunslinger mentality. That is Tony Romo's problem and until he gets that part of his play out of him, if he ever does, then he will always come up short. That is what happens with these Cowboy teams of now. They win early and lose late because they think they can turn it on and off any time they need to. Tom Landry coached teams never underestimated their opponents as much as Jerry Jones and his coaches have. Jerry Jones is not a saint but he isn't a savior either. So **** the Cow**** and all of their fans. Jerry Jones will never get back to the promise land and I am willing to say that Dan Snyder will win one before he will.
