Watching LSU games this year, he was a large reason that they won 9 games in the regular season. No way they win 9 games with Nussmeier. LSUs defense was so bad. Daniels constantly had to make plays to keep them in games they had no business winning. As far as the bowl games, it’s hard to compare to regular season play. Lots of prep time and other variables. LSUs back up(Nussmeier) was a really good prospect out of high school and will be the starter this year. It doesn’t look like Conner Harrell is set to start for UNC in 2024

At this point, Peters/Quinn/Kingsbury have all the film they need. Most QBs do what they need to do throwing the ball on their pro days. Daniels did well and I have no doubt Maye will have a good day. If we haven’t decided our QB yet, I doubt the throwing portion will change their minds. It’s really about the meetings at this point.

I might have missed who the wrs were on the over throws but I don’t think they were either of the NFL prospects. Really the velocity on the deep ball was more important to see.

I’m still leaning Daniels at this point. I don’t hate Maye and wouldn’t be mad if we took him. I trust this front office until they give me reason not to. It seems like both camps have people that are taking their criticism of the other QB to the extreme. These 2 QBs would be the top pick in most drafts. I actually wouldn’t be shocked if either has a better career than Caleb. While I think Caleb should go first, it’s not like he is a perfect prospect. He took a little bit of a step back this last season from his heisman season.

If you’re looking at the height, it’s all about the angle the picture is taken…and yes I know this picture is a little deceptive as well. I think height wise, Daniels will measure between 6’3”-6’4”. Just going based on him standing next to Brian Thomas JR(I believe 6’3” in the combine) in another picture.

You could say that about most of highlights with Nabors, Thomas or even Chase/Jefferson/Marshall with Burrow. Can he not get any credit due to his WR? I mean every throw was on point. The Thomas catches were more to wide open but he hit him in stride. The Nabors catches were more contested minus the last one. Daniels threw it where only he could catch it.

Yeah I would agree that most of the conversation in this thread has been ridiculous. It is running in circles in both sides(Maye fans and Daniels fans). I don’t get why either side has to act like Daniels or Maye aren’t worth a top pick. They are both likely to be top 5 picks. People who are more football smart than all of us are saying it. Obviously we all like 1 style of play vs another.

I wasn’t trying to hate. I want either of these QBs to turn this us around. I’m excited about the possibility of Maye or Daniels. Like I said, it’s been a long day so maybe it’s coming out in my post. Obviously my math was impacted.

I’m not saying it isn’t a great throw. Just saying a lot of starting NFL QBs probably could make it. Also, the game seems to have changed. How often do you see a Qb making 60 yard throws? Mahomes isn’t out there throwing bombs right now.

I’ve had a long day but what am I missing? 28 to the 50 is 22 yards. 50 to 18 is 32 yards. That’s 54 yards plus the angle. I’m just saying other PRO QBs make that throw

I typed 30 instead of 20 when typing and did the math off that. If it was 28 to 18, it’s still 54 yards. Not hating on the throw just saying most starting NFL qbs make that throw

He was standing on the 30 and it was caught on the 30 by a wide open wr. That’s 40 yards. Obviously a little more with it not being a straight ahead throw so add a little bit more distance. What starting pro can’t make that throw?

I would bet more than 10 QBs in the NFL right now could make that throw i dont hate Maye. I think he would be a good pick for us but just saying..

I’d be happy with either QB but dude hit a wide open WR in this gif. Same thing people hate on Daniels for. Also, who cares about hitting a cross bar, very Kyle Boller of him.

I would be happy with Daniels or Maye. I am a fan of Daniels as I watched a lot of LSU games. Daniels made a huge jump from year 1 to 2 with LSU. Year one, it seemed like he was extremely risk adverse. It was frustrating at times. That might have just been switching to a new team/offense. This last year, he was a leader and fully trusted his ability. LSU would have been fighting to make a bowl game without him. He isn’t Lamar elusive but I would say more elusive than RG3. RG3 is faster. Like everyone has said, Daniels needs to put on weight. He didn’t take a lot of big hits but at times he did run into contact. Also, occasionally, he would make an inaccurate throw that he shouldn’t have missed. Mostly he was on point with his throws. I haven’t watched a lot of Maye. Just some highlights and portions of UNC games. His size, arm strength and playmaking ability seem like they would translate to being a successful pro QB. Not too worried about the slight stat drop off this year. Can’t bring your college stats with you. Don’t have much else due to limited time watching

LSU is easily a better job than Notre Dame now. Les Miles and Ed O won championships there. Neither would win one at Notre Dame. They both might be fighting to win 7-9 games. There is basically a fence around Louisiana recruiting. That said, he will get PAID.

I am really enjoying the coverage NBC has done with the EPL. I really don't claim a team even though I have watched a lot EPL games over the years. I will say I found myself cheering for Cardiff against Manchester City.

I am not big into UFC, but I watched this fight. Machida looked out of it before the restart. The look in his eyes, you could tell it wouldn't be long.
