  1. I never get this thought process that there is only one perfect way to enjoy a particular food. Steaks are only meant to be eaten this way and only New Yorkers know what a real pizza tastes like and steak and cheese sandwich should be this way. Whatever is good to someone's taste buds is how they should make/order it. It might not be your preference but they are not ordering for you. To each his own.
  2. Agree. However most of the teams picking at the top of the draft are always going to be bad teams. Also if he comes back in next years draft, another team with the top pick could draft him and then trade him similar to what the Chargers did with Giants. So he could sit out another year and the situation might not be any better next year.
  3. If they hit on the QB logic would be applicable even if they hired HC like Ben Johnson. Not like he would be successful without a QB. Don't get the point there.
  4. Also you are assuming that all those OC's wanted to move to HC and were available. Some simply are not interested or let it be known through their agents. Other than Kafka, I haven't heard of anyone of them being interviewed by any other team. Maybe they simply weren't available.
  5. Results determine the stories that are written/reported in the media. Winning cures everything. His game planning or the locker room is probably no different than last year. Last year they had a lot more success so everything that was reported was positive and they could do no wrong. Now the entire focus is on what went wrong. Did we hear any locker room issues when they were 10-1? Did anyone question their game planning? Last year it was all about how AJ Brown - Hurts friendship helped recruit him to Philly. This year it is all about how they don't get along.
  6. I think we should pin this post. Consistently making the playoffs should be the measuring stick for HC's and then one or more of those times everything falls in place to win that championship.
  7. It is crazy that a coach that took them to a SB and started 10-1 this season is considered to be on the hot seat because the team had a bad stretch of 6-7 games. He didn't forget how to coach after week 11. It took Andy Reid 21 seasons as a HC before he won a SB. Also who are you going to bring in that is guaranteed to do any better?
  8. While I don't know if Bezos would be a good owner or not, the co-relation between how he choses to spend his personal wealth and laying off people at the Post is misguided. Businesses/companies have to be profitable to be able to stay in existence and sometimes hard decisions like layoffs have to be made. He can't take money from one well performing business (Amazon) and pour that into keeping another one like WAPO afloat. You think he scaled Amazon to what it is today by not treating his employees well? When you employ as many people as Amazon does, there will always be a few loud minority that will complain. You can find similar complaints about Microsoft, Walmart and others.
  9. It would have been nice to come up with something creative like a RPO or something. Everyone in the world knew they were going to run the ball there so Giants sold out on those two plays. A decent play there and we could be kicking the winning field goal.
  10. We didn't boost his career by drafting him at 5. Player draft position has nothing to do with their performance on the field. He earned all the pro-bowls with his play on the field and has been consistently ranked among the top guards in the league. I don't get this one-way loyalty that we expect from players while teams can cut anybody at anytime. Teams make business decisions all the time so why can't players do what is best for them?
  11. So you let a younger player who was durable and played well go to sign older players that played for you in CAR? Makes no sense. He should have been a candidate for an extension.
  12. I disagree with this approach. Signing UDFA's and seeing if you find a starter/contributor is a very low risk move. You never know when one of them will outplay your backup or third stringer and make the team. A total of 33 UDFA made the initial 53 roster last year. That is an average of 2 per team. James Robinson and Balenkship were UDFA's.
  13. I hope he breaks the bank. Cap number is all that matters and as we have seen, it can be easily manipulated every year with restructures and what not. I hope every player gets the MAX they can.
  14. Why do we care about money and who needs to be signed in a couple of years? So much could change with new players from the draft or free agency. If KC and NO can keep doling out contracts and manage the cap then so can the rest of the league. Plus most contracts are really only 2-3 year contracts with ability to cut/trade players after that without too much penalty.
  15. You have to think beyond the starters. High potential players via draft provide cheap backups and ideal replacements in case the starters get hurt. Personally I would have gone with a WR instead of the QB in last year's draft but AJ Dillon is a good replacement for Williams and possible starter in case they weren't able to sign Jones.
