So for those STH still following this thread...….does your decision to renew or not renew after this season rest SOLELY on the Bruce Allen decision? In other words, if Snyder fires him, are you renewing, or at this point are you out no matter what?

Nope ... Allen is not the root cause; see Schottenheimer, circa 2001.

    No argument here.

We're riding out the rest season, (sunken costs), and not going to renew,  unless Snyder fires Allen, or sells the team.

This sucks, because we love our seats, our seatmates,  and the location, but it's just not worth it.

If not for the tailgate,  we probably wouldn't go at all. If we do go to games next year, we'll buy them on the cheap. We may just buy parking passes, tailgate,  then leave.  We'll see....

You eluded to that a year and a half ago when I initially could not renew due to potentially being RIFed but took a pass on getting my old seats a month after getting connected with a different contract.  I'm sorry it has come to this for you and Mrs. SkinsFan ...

Was it just me or was the constant music playing between each play really annoying?

I have been a STH for the past 6 years, and i do not recall the music in the stadium being this loud and constant. It was giving me a headache and made it difficult to talk to people close to us.

Maybe I am just getting old, but when I go to a game, I do not need them to add extra "entertainment" on this level. I want to just watch football, drink a beer, and give the Philly/Dallas fans hell!

Last season was number 14 for me and I did not renew for financial considerations (on employer's RIF list when invoices were due) but, yeah, I had noticed the same thing in recent years.

I have found ... (probably in my "old age" as well) ... that the heavy proliferation of bass in current music today can induce a headache; even at lower volumes (which happened a couple of weeks ago at a bowling center), it happens because the bass is so heavy in the song itself that it feels like the building is going to shake.

Even when I came off the RIF list after Memorial Day when brought onto a different contract, I declined the chance to renew in June for a myriad of reasons with this infusion of divisive political rhetoric into the game being the primary.  Your post reminded me of another reason why I took a pass.

Ticket office is still probably in denial that people like me that canceled this year will come back at the last minute so I'm sure they are dragging their feet to move on from us.

As a [now former] 14-year season ticket holder, I haven't received anything since 24 July when they were peddling free concert tickets for renewing.  Perhaps I made my position clear enough that they know not to bother me.   LOL

For S&Gs, I checked my old area at Ticketmaster ... my two seats, the three next to them, and both aisle pairs in front and behind me are all available.  In August !!

I really thought I would be a season ticket holder for life. I understand I could save money buying off stubhub. But it was never about that. Well if this is how I am treated then it will just be about the money from now on.

Coming soon to Webster's online dictionary: an http reference to this post by @josh35b when formally defining "clusterf**k"

And the justification for not pursuing tickets after coming off the company RIF list early summer continues.

I was at the soccer game at Fed Ex tonight and they have increased the price of Bud Light to 10.50. Not sure if it’ll be the same at the real football games, but that was today’s price.

Geez, they'd have to pay me twice that to drink Budweiser products.  LOL

If the same organization runs concessions at the stadium regardless of the event, then I suspect $10.50 is what you all will see in 12 days.

:rofl89:OK, I get the politics excuse. But you really won't go to games because they serve Pepsi instead of Coke? Really? :kickcan:

Let's see ... Pepsi products make me quite ill.  I discovered this the hard way a year and a half ago.  For the rest ...

I don't drink inside the stadium because I drive home; lemonade has same sugar content as regular sodas which, for me, is taboo; the press release last summer noting unsweetened iced tea would be available through the fountains never materialized with different responses to my inquiries and no follow up, including someone with premium services who was always on point with correspondence; three bills for beverages in general is brutal, and downright ludicrous for bottled tea/water.

The $10 bottomless Diet Coke was a blessing.  Since I can't drink Pepsi products without getting sick and three bills gets close to the cost of one ticket, I am better off (economically) watching at home once that spineless Kommisar Goodell either develops a backbone or is no longer involved with the league.

Just got yet another email from ticket office imploring me to renew.  This one with the subject line "Joe Theismann wants you to renew your season tickets!"

Body of email shows a scowling Joe T pointing a finger at "me" urging me to renew.

I laughed out loud.  It was creative.  That's for certain.  But I'm still not renewing even with Joe bullying me.  LOL

Last e-mail I got was on 24 July saying it wasn't too late to renew; that I could get a pair of complimentary tickets to one of the two concert dates at FedEx (to artists whose music is not to my liking); and I could not renew online.

Gosh, I so *crushed*.  NOT !!

I'm with @Ashburn Dave: the league needs to get all of this political rhetoric out of the game before I even consider coming back and that would not happen until FedEx Field brings back COKE products to the concessions.  #CokeIsTheRealThing #PepsiProductsRequirePeptoBismol

I was able to pick up 4 in section 101 late in the upgrade season. Demand is at an all time low.

Back in the glory years at RFK Stadium, having season tickets felt like status.  With the move east to the larger venue and overall mediocrity of the team since Gibbs I, the allure is no longer there.  The aftermarket makes it easy to go to games relatively cheap if you're not obsessed with division games.  And someone told me that he's gotten Club seats within an hour of kickoff for two bills.

As I previously posted, I had to give up my tickets as a result of getting a RIF notice (contract end of life in mid-May) at work two weeks before the invoice was due.  I have a new home within the same company and still keep getting renewal e-mails

To quote those Brothers of Righteous[ness], "[I've] lost that loving feeling."  And it's with the league as a whole.

Lots of good sideline seats still available. I just upgraded myself from the 15 to the 40 yard line in section 220. My friend just upgraded from upper deck to the 35 yard line in 223 I believe. Most available seats are on the visitor's side. Lots of good end zone seats also. As far as I could tell, no obstructed view seats behind the pillars are available. So perhaps it is true they are not selling those tickets. Sad to see how easy it is now to get redskins season tickets. No longer a ticket in demand.

Login to your account and try to buy tickets. It will take you to the ticketmaster app and you can check various sections you are interested in. Then call the ticket office with the seats you want to upgrade too. Took me two minutes.

I am catching up on my e-mail and saw something from them on the 28th about getting season tickets for as low as $76/game.  I had given up my tickets because, at the time of renewal, I had already received a RIF notice as a result of the contract I had been supporting for 20 years coming to a close (client not exercising next option year).  Although there were other reasons, this was the big one: I could not justify $3K when I might not have a paycheck after Memorial Day.  (I have since connected with a new team within the same company so all appears to be well.)

I am visiting my mom in southern Virginia this weekend who, being fully aware of why I had to give them up, tells me while we are out and about yesterday: "You really need to get your tickets back."  So I check this out and go to my old section (113/23/22-23) and see, not only those tickets, but those in front, behind and alongside the pair I had.  That tells me my seatmates, a really nice couple and their family, chose not to renew.  Wow ...

And, yeah, there are plenty of good seats in a lot of lower level sections.  Is this an indication that the fan base has had enough?

  12. Although the schedule makers were kind enough to put a home game on my birthday (day game against Packers), I could make a late decision to grab tickets on the aftermarket to attend.

But, yeah, I feel the burden has been lifted as well for me.

Good bye season tickets, you were always with me since the age of 5 (when my dad started taking me to games, and put in my name about 25 years ago) you never complained or ****ed or moaned. You were the perfect non wife I never had. Two of those have gone by the wayside (never again!) But I will always back my Skins!! I'll go to a few games a year still, maybe more, but two tickets will be available in 225 row 1 when the upgrading starts folks, they were good seats, go grab em!

... as will two tickets in section 113 on the aisle with plenty of room to extend the left knee/leg.

I was grappling with renewing until the announcement a month ago that the contract which I have been supporting for 20 years (come May), a service that has been active for 28 years, will be turned off mid-May as a result of the customer choosing not to exercise the next one-year option of the contract.

As I am still seeking new work within the organization (as well as outside) with the uncertainty of having a paycheck in five weeks, I cannot justify the expense of season tickets at this time.

On 4/13/2018 at 7:49 PM, TheGreatBuzz said:

Two reasons I don't have season tickets (other than I don't live in the area anymore).

    1.  I don't like the way you have to start with crappy tickets and move your way up.  If I am going to drop that kind of coin, I want to be on the 50 where I want to be.  That is the tickets I buy when I get them on the secondary market.

    2.  I like to go to a game or two each year when I can for the experience.  But overall, I feel like it is better at home on my couch.  I can pause when I want, no line for the bathroom, get good camera angles, etc.  I always have felt like for those wanting to actually SEE the game of football, at home is a better experience.

I will admit though I do like the idea of being able to say I am a "season ticket holder".

... and an endless supply of COCA COLA products in my refrigerator.  (A hard lesson in Spring 2017 to discover Pepsi products make me sick to my stomach; the press release last summer clearly indicated unsweetened iced tea would be in the fountains but that never materialized.)

Back in the RFK days, being a season ticket holder had its glamour: smaller stadium, quality teams.

Nowadays, the proliferation of the secondary market at a larger venue in concert with a dysfunctional organization means it's hard to get face value for games.  Someone told me that he has been able to get Club tickets at the last minute for less than what I pay in lower level.

So, aside from the Redskins Rewards program, what incentive is there to retain them?  Fourteen years is a great run but the increased infusion of politics into the NFL has killed what waning interest I had.

Once I get my employment situation in order, I will probably become a semi-regular at Nationals Park: short walk from metro and I can get Diet COKE there.

Lower level sidelines for previous season ticket holders?  All the more reason not to renew: let them beg me to come back with better seats than I already have now (lower level end zone, aisle seats).

    Best post of the day.

Like you, I'm fed up with this clusterf**k of a front office and ownership.  After 14 seasons as a season ticket holder, I can't justify the several thousand dollars (tickets, parking, food, etc.) knowing that the Lombardi trophy will never find its way here as long as current ownership remains.

After another lackluster season. Watching a bunch of overpaid prima donnas who don't care about this game it's time to let these worthless season tickets go. Like Brian Mitchell stated on the post game show... "If you the players don't give a dam, then why should I!"

I love my seats (west end zone, two on the aisle) but, like you, this season has clinched my decision to not renew.  Being a season ticket holder does not have the prestige it once did with the proliferation of available tickets in the aftermarket; heck, one of my tailgaters told me of someone he knew who would get Club seats for well under $100 an hour before kickoff.  And this was when we weren't playing half bad ball ...

Besides the obvious already discussed on other threads with regard to front office (including ownership), I won't spend another dime on anything NFL related as long as Roger Goodell remains commissioner.

Awesome!!!! They stopped the sign for a few years ago. My thinking is when you were able to print them at home. Once you print at home the hard ticket barcode does not work. So why pay the extra money for signature.

That makes sense.  I was able to adjust mine to be held at a FedEx location for pickup when I get back in town on the 7th.

Tickets will be sent out over the next few days. They are being sent directly from the printers on Arkansas.

I receive an e-mail from FedEx that a package is on the way from Van Buren, AR; sounds like the tickets are on the way.

In most seasons past, we've had to sign for them.  I clicked on the tracking link and saw the following ... "Special handling section: Deliver Weekday, No Signature Required."

So I definitely need to customize the delivery to hold them at a FedEx location until I get back from Michigan as I don't need them sitting outside my door for four days.

Then again, it may be a moot point.  Three hours before the event and I have yet to receive any information (entrance, parking instructions) as per Monday's e-mail invitation.  (It's probably the same as the other events but I'm not going to drive half the DC Beltway in 1800 hour traffic unless I know it's a gig and I'm confirmed.)

Wednesdays are probably the best evenings for me to make an event at the Stadium, what with my office now in Fairview Park.  I couldn't make the Fan Forum in May as it was on a Tuesday (summer league startup).

BTW, I will be out of town for the Green Bay preseason game for a visit with my mom.

I like the debate this has generated.  I have the need to sell the Thanksgiving night and Christmas Eve day games as I will be spending those holidays with my mom who lost her husband of 21-plus years seven months ago (two weekends before Christmas 2016).  With me being the only family left (my sister and family live in Europe) and her not driving any great distance, this is a must.

And we also have to take into account service men and women who get deployed for a stretch of time where they need to sell an entire season.  The reasons are legitimate.

What needs to happen is to revoke those whose seats are filled by fans (both, but especially those supporting opposing teams) who act in a manner less than appropriate for the Fan Code of Conduct.  Last year's home opener saw a vulgar and very family unfriendly display of twerking by someone on the aisle two rows in front of me wearing a stiller jersey.  And it's usually opposing teams' fans who occupied those seats all season long.

    In my humble opinion ...

    THAT

... should be grounds for having your tickets revoked.

Anyone know if 2017 season tickets have different preseason vs regular season face value? If so, what is the breakdown?

Specifically interested in section 203. Thx.

For my section (113/23), the two preseason games were $58.30/ticket (4.9 percent of total season cost of $1,199) and the eight regular season games were $135.30/ticket (11.3 percent).

Based on that, if you need to estimate your breakdown, ten percent of the total for the two preseason games and 90 percent for the eight regular season games.  Round up/down as needed; your mileage may vary.

Yup. I decided a few years ago that the next time I have a game where I can't find someone to buy tickets will be the last.

I haven't had that trouble and until this, I had a few people hitting me up for 2017 tickets already.

We'll see. I'm sticking to my guns - so long as someone is willing to buy the games I can't/don't want to go to for face value, I'll keep going. Next time I have to sell for under face value or can't sell at all, will be my last season.

I've made it a point to sell to Skins fans which was a real challenge in 2015 when I missed a lot of games due to a big work push.

I'm thankful that I wound up dragging my feet on renewing; as with the other posters, these last 24 hours have me doing some soul searching on whether I want to continue spending money ($3k/season for the pair including parking) on season tickets.
