Hope the Rams win the Super Bowl. Still pissed that we let McVay go.

Saints got absolutely screwed if they don't pull this out. I don't have a dog in this fight as I like both these teams but I'd really like to see Brees get another shot at a Super Bowl. How that play wasn't pass interference was insane.

Killer Mike, trying to live black by only supporting black owned businesses, etc, is interesting. But him going to a black owned strip club with black strippers and turning down a lapdance from an Asian stripper cause she wasn't black is one of the funniest ****ing things I've ever seen.
  5. I agree, regarding the unabashed violence. And yeah, they take a lot of injuries and keep moving (the fight in the weightroom was ridiculous) but I reminded myself it's supposed to be over the top and to suspend some belief. Even though I thought that, the last episode where Punisher gets decked in the face by a big piece of iron and kept going made me roll my eyes. It's like a 2010's version of Leon: The Professional, almost. I really enjoyed it, overall.
  6. I forgot Daredevil was canned. I guess that means Punisher won't be back, which is a shame. I liked Jessica Jones, too. I didn't know that Disney was starting their own streaming service. I found this article which explains a lot if anyone else is in the dark like me: https://www.cnet.com/how-to/disney-disneyplus-streaming-service-name-release-date-shows-movies-to-expect/
  7. They got rid of Iron Fist (which was a bad show) and Luke Cage (which was a great one). Did they get rid of Jessica Jones and Daredevil, too?
  8. Been watching practically all day. Hoooooooly ****. Bernthal is awesome. They better not cancel this like they've canceled their other Marvel series. But the girl that he helps out this season is fantastic. Giorgia Whigham.
  9. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw that this year.

    R. Kelly... Smoke and fire it seems.

****in R. Kelly came up on my Apple Music suggestion list a couple days ago. I don't even like R&B. I'm not sure how that happened but I was like WTF. No, I don't want to listen to 12 Play.

100% yes. I don't watch the NBA like I used to but I can't remember the last time I saw something like this: A truly violent slam. He totally pipes hard on Ewing, then Ewing stumbles, falls back and Pippen walks over him, ON THE WAY TO TELL to Spike Lee who's about as tall as Pippen's bozac to shut the **** up. I think this is more of a function of the NBA teams/players hating each other back then. I think by the time this happened things might have started cooling off a little bit as all these guys started being on Dream Teams together. The first crack in the NBA Cold War was Bird and Magic doing that Converse commercial together and becoming friends. If Bird and Magic could be friendly, it was all downhill from there. Now these guys talk about their wine collections together. I found this a few months ago, look at Bill Cartwright knocking Charles Barkley the **** OUT: The best thing here, aside from seeing Barkley getting demolished and having to be helped off the court is the old guy in the stands right around the :15 second mark who's clapping and pointing. Yeah, old timer, you came to MSG on a Friday night to watch the Knickerbockers and didn't know you were gonna see someone get knocked out on a Mike Tyson level by getting dunked on.

Budget Fight (Trump Mantle / Border Security Shutdown))

https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/17/entertainment/cardi-b-government-shutdown-trnd/index.html I can't believe we're in a place where elected officials are debating whether or not to RT a Cardi B rant about the shutdown. And the one Senator who tweeted "OMG, I had the same argument with myself 30 minutes ago!" like a teenager...just get the **** right out. I hate everybody.

  16. Hate to bust up the Tailgate with all the talks of Trump, package bombs in Austin and whether it should be deemed terrorism, Trump, social agendas, Trump, school shootings/gun control, Trump, Russia and Trump... But baseball season starts on March 29th. Twins at Orioles. 3:05 start. I don't feel good about this season, but the Orioles did sign Alex Cobb today. Cashner/Cobb should be an upgrade over Miley/Ubaldo. Still, the rotation is full of guys that are anywhere between #2s and #5s, depending on the day. The offense is still a high strikeout, low OBP, station to station plodding type with guys that need to have hyooooooge seasons if we want to compete. I think this is a 75 win team. Anyway, this is what we've been waiting for. Still has that chromosome. 99.9%. of the way there, though. I still can't believe the outrage this is sparking. More than anything today, I just hate the outrage culture that we have going on. It's a ****ing commercial, it's a brand trying to get people to remember that they exist and to buy their products. I wonder how people deal with stuff in their lives that REALLY matters.

God dammit. I really liked this band, The Frightnrs. Apple music suggested their album to me a few years ago and I thought it was really good. White guy funk/reggae/ska from Brooklyn which is typically terrible but they make it work. The lead singer had, IMO, a great voice and didn't try to sound like he was from Jamaica or anything. Give it a listen: Hadn't listened to it in awhile, put it on this morning. They have some EPs that are ok, but their one album is the one that I listen to. So I'm like, wtf, these guys haven't put out a full length since 2016, what's going on? I never really bothered to look into who these guys were, tour dates, etc. All I knew is I just liked their music. Come to find out the lead singer died of ALS pretty soon after their first album came out: https://www.npr.org/sections/therecord/2016/08/23/490958536/the-tragic-turn-of-the-frightnrs-first-and-last-record https://www.readjunk.com/news/music/the-frightnrs-dan-klein-has-passed-away/

I bolded the point I agree with the most. That's exactly what I was trying to say, you said it better. And I agree, we should try to get there. Absolutely. And I like Jay, but I don't think he's the guy to do it. Bruce sure as **** ain't the guy to craft a winner and help instill some of that culture. And there's no commanding presence amongst the players to do it, either. Team needs a complete overhaul from top to bottom. Anything else, IMO, is shuffling the chairs on the Titanic. We can agree to disagree, it's about professionalism in organizations. The Redskins aren't professional, they don't win. Would being professional make them a winner? Hard to say, but it couldn't hurt. I just think that what Swearinger did wasn't the worst thing in the world, especially for a team that was spiraling out of control. @goskins10 said it right, drawing the line in the sand with what he did was weird.

The difference here is that the Redskins aren't winners. Belichick can do whatever he wants, pretty much, cause they win. And it works. The Redskins don't win. What they do doesn't work. Cutting DJ Swearinger because the Patriots enforce what you think is insubordination rules (no proof, your perception) is like saying I expect a fifth grader to keep up with Usain Bolt. So we can talk about whether Swearinger getting cut was some great, brilliant move or if it's a case of shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. It's not even the Titanic anymore, it's way down on the bottom of the ocean floor. Personally, I was happy that DJ Swearinger was a guy that cared. And if we're going to really hype up insubordination rules, we should probably also include Nicholson and M. Foster for being insubordinate in relation to professional conduct rules. But you know, Swearinger...BLARRRRRRRGGGGGHHH!!

I don't see anything wrong with the commercial. But in the age where rage is in, I'm sure there are some out there that find it objectionable because...well, being offended is what matters today. Anyway, I'd really like to see if Gillette can cram another razor in there. What are they up to now, 5 or 6 blades? Oh for **** sake, I'm looking at some of the "outrage" about this ad. And people are like "Gillette is saying that ALL MEN ARE THIS WAY!!!!!1111" Which they're not. But let's not let emotion get in the way of anything because that never happens on the internet.

Give me a break, comparing Bill Belichick to anything the Redskins have done over the years is an apples and doughnuts comparison.
