  1. All I know about Caleb is he has a GREAT rep at USC and at Gonzaga High.  Everything else is just noise.

He's going 1 unless the Bears are nuts.

No matter who we take, I feel like the Kingsbury hire was fantastic. He's going to make the transition so much easier for a college QB.

The national media doesn't seem to grasp how terrible Bienemy was -- or last year's entire staff.

Exactly, I’d rather keep EB to be honest then to hire Brian Johnson … dude was fired after 1 season as you stated, even his players seemed to dislike him… no way do we want this guy imho…

I don't want Johnson either, but my God, it's become very clear that dumping EB off on his "friend" Rivera was an all-time move by Reid. Add it to his HOF accomplishments.

  3. Caleb is so not the guy he has been portrayed.

Went to my high school -- his reputation could not be better.

    Well-regarded at USC as well.

Comes from a GREAT family. If you want to ding him for painting his nails and crying with his mom, feel free. But the guy is a freak and a ferocious competitor.

If we actually do get Kliff K, I fully expect Peters to at least explore trading up. It will be a game of chicken if nothing else.

Bieniemy is still under contract isn't he?  There is a chance that the new head coach could opt to keep him, particularly if he comes from the defensive side of the ball.

That would be a shock. I trust Keim on this. Dude rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, not to mention how insane it was to drop back Howell more than any QB in the league .

Please, no retreads like Dan Quinn, who got fired from Atl as a HC. We need new blood!

He had some great years there and can probably put together a great staff. People in the know -- not blogger boys -- seem to really love him.

If the search committee is excited about him, then I'm excited.

By the way, I find it utterly impossible to evaluate college QBs at this point. Everyone runs the same one-read offense in a sport that could only be more tilted in the offense's favor if they forced defenses to play with ten guys.

This. 100 percent. It is so hard.  Most of the time the plays are being sent in from the sidelines. And they're in shotgun all the time.  It's nuts.

  7. Seattle has incredible facilities and arguably the most respected GM in the league.  And an owner who is hands off. And it's become clear she isn't selling anytime soon.

We have a lot to offer -- which is a huge change. But we also have terrible facilities -- thanks, Danny -- and the media is up in your business way more in the DMV than Seattle.

Plus, not every coach wants to coach a rookie QB.  They miss as much as they hit, if not more.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Johnson ends up in Seattle.

It's why Benjamin Allbright (and countless others) say scouts have learned and teams will be higher on someone like JJ McCarthy. They're not assuming he can't do things because he didn't do much of it at Michigan.

Yep. And McCarthy has played under center and used a ton of PA. More experience in a pro style offense and handling the calls than the higher rated guys.

  9. Gut tells me it won't be Maye. And it will be a pretty strong consensus once the league really breaks down the tape, talks with coaches. The blogger boys and guys on twitter have been higher on Maye than people who actually watch the game.  I saw Maye up close against Duke last year -- he was good and so was Riley Leonard -- but I think Daniels will the consensus number 2 after the teams really dig in.

But hell, anything could happen. Maybe our new coach falls in love with Nix or McCarthy and we trade back, picking up a first and more. Projecting QBS is so damn hard. Plenty of guys who have gone mid to late first in recent years have panned out just fine.
