We are now the sole NFC team with the longest drought since an NFC Championship game. Hell froze over for Detroit. I’m happy for their fans and looking forward to the future here. Gonna be our turn soon.

With Snyder still in place it would be absolutely believable, but Snyder is gone. Somebody must have forgot to tell Florio. A Bellichick hiring doesn’t seem to fit the larger vision of what Josh and co. are trying to accomplish here. Me also lol The shock the first time I saw the movie was palpable.

I think the difference now is that you won’t have a petulant child entering the draft room telling the scouts he doesn’t care who they want…pick my guy. Josh appears to be a very savvy and experienced sports owner who knows what he doesn’t know. Point being, they are going to go with who his NFL experts tell him they should go with.

I’m not surprised either, nor do I think they hope/expect questions regarding the brand will just stop being asked eventually. I think they know they have to make the right impressions. All of this is about winning Football games first and foremost. If I was a prospective Coach or GM I would definitely question the seriousness of the organization about doing what is important if the day you fire your previous coach you are also taking about new names and uniforms.

As important as that issue is to many of us, it definitely takes a backseat to the picking of a GM and a coach. I’m confident the name/brand gets addressed at some point down the road when the time is right. Josh’s response proves that adults are in the room and they are focused on the most important stuff first.
