In the email I sent I offered them full control of time, agreed to any terms and would gladly compensate. Not one even replied. 
All of the big names not only replied quickly but refused any payment. They all wanted to do it to help kids.

Good luck on the PC. Somebody suggested building it yourself, which is fun and that's the way I do it, but then you're on the hook for all the troubleshooting. Just something to keep in mind. 

 

Also, I would do some reading on the 40-series and other current cards specifically in regards to video editing. Here's one article I found, but I didn't spend much time researching. You should spend a little.

By the way, have you considered starting a YouTube channel? I bet gaming vids with an educational spin would have a niche. (I know there could be complications if your school system is paying for them, but maybe you can release two significantly distinct versions or something.)

I have a YouTube channel but the district paid me extremely well for exclusivity on these videos BUT, I can easily just re do them with differences. I’ve looked into the money aspect and at this point in time, it’s better for me to do it as I’m doing it but when I finish this series, I probably will do that and send links to teachers all over the state to start just by using emails from districts. 
It’s honestly fun but is still work. I’ve always been a successful teacher because kids love my class. A lot of that is because I used video games, movie clips, tv shows etc in class to entertain them but get the curriculum across in a more fun way.

High school 9-12 th grade. Basically 15 to 18. 
 

last summer I did videos for World History which has tons of ties to assassins creed games, far cry, ghosts of Tsushima, and many more. I used ms flight sim to give tours of sites like chichen itza, Machu Picchu, Istanbul, and other sites and cities. 
 

this summer I’m doing American History and I took a different approach because it’s 11th graders and they are more mature. So I had the idea to get local college professors to do a podcast style video for specific topics that the students generally struggle with. 
 

oddly not one single local professor even responded to my emails but I also sent emails to the “big names” of the field that write the books used in most of the grad programs (including mine) and to this point, ALL of them graciously agreed to do it and I’ve completed about 6 of them so far and they are amazing. I have to edit them down to smaller portions based on topics but my school district is thrilled.

I know what you mean. I've played with ProTools in the past and didn't want to do the whole subscription thing.  Ableton just messes with me because sometimes when I record stuff and save it, I come back and things are missing or wrong. I'm sure its me, but still, It shouldn't be that hard...

Thank you, I'm pretty confident that if I get the specs for the video editing, I'll be fine for Starfield.  My current pc is plenty for starfield except I'd have to delete some things off the SSD and I don't care for doing that.

What DAW do you use?  I do music as well. Love playing guitar. I have Ableton, but IMO, its not as user friendly as it could be.

I do want the power for gaming, but, more so for the video editing.

I'm guessing jumping from a 2060 super to the 4060 is going to be really good, at least I'd hope so. 

My issue is that when I read all the negativity, I'm sure a lot of it is people who are much more into PC gaming than me. I prefer to play games on console (for the most part) but Starfield is different.

I'm just not as knowledgeable on the benefits as I'm upgrading.

So, I want to upgrade to a new PC.

1. I use it to create videos for school. Over the past few years, I've used my video gaming prowess to create videos for student remediation and the school district pays me for them.  It pays really really well as the majority of teachers are not gamers etc.. (think of using assassin's creed, COD, Flight SIm (for geography), and numerous other games that show elements from history that draws students in. 

2. I'm going to be playing starfield and want more power. My current PC is very good and I'm going to give it to my son.  I genuinely need more power for the video editing more so than gaming.  

So, I bought my current pc 2 years ago from Cyberpower PC and I'm extremely happy with it and unless I'm convinced othewise, I'll probably do the same. 

Feel free, share in good places to buy from.

But the main part is this.

I know I want an i9 processor, I currently have an i7.

I currently have a 2060 super vid card and I keep hearing bad things about the 40 series RTX cards.

Regardless, I'm getting a bigger SSD drive and a big HDD drive just to store video elements that I don't need fast access to.  That's the biggest place my current PC is lagging.  I only have a 500GB SSD and a 1 TB HHD.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Everything you said is true. 
It makes zero sense to remove a book about him from schools, well, other than racism. 
When are we going to get past this?  How, in the year 2023 is this still possible?

I'm a little late to the party but I can say this:

In Virginia, the curriculum for all grades is available to anyone anytime online. Through the dept of Ed and through the school system's websites. Parents can see them 24/7. It's nothing new. It's been that way for 10 years.

At the HS level, there is no CRT. (I'm only saying "at the HS level" because I teach that, as well as community college courses, I have first hand knowledge).

There is no "trans/gay/whatever" grooming (I don't even know what to call it).

There's no kitty litter in the bathrooms for kids who identify as furries.

There are no "real" teacher's unions. VA is an at will employer, the unions mean nothing and have no power.

What there is: A lot of teachers that care about the students and a few that don't.  

What kills public schools is No Child Left Behind.  That needs to be repealed.

The schools need the students to graduate more than some students want to graduate.  Discipline is limited because of NCLB.

Teachers quit because of this and low pay.

I completely understand why Mark Hamill said he was insulted with the direction they wanted For Luke. Didn’t care for that at all. 

I loved that that it was more story driven than TFA. 

I loved a lot of the details. 

I hated a lot of the comedy. Felt like Monty Python’s Star Wars. 

While I like it a lot more than TFA, I just don’t have the urge to want to see it again this weekend.

It seems like you enjoyed aftermath for the added insight. If that’s the case and you don’t mind the cost, go for it. But they were not great reads IMO. The info is interesting though. Just depends on how much of s SW need you want to be. ?

Totally agree, took me way longer to read that book than it should have.  Also, was not very interested in the original characters the writer created.
