Let's be honest this is Kyle Allen we are talking about here.  Sure, he might provide a small spark to the offense based on his knowledge of it alone, but he is not a starting QB in the NFL.  It is only a matter of time before he shows why he is a backup journeyman.  If Alex Smith is healthy enough to be on the field, not to mention I read a small blip today that coaches felt Alex Smith was the best looking QB during training camp, why not just make him the starter right now?

So third year in the league makes you a journeyman?

Believe me I hope you are right. I watched last night expecting an average performance from their QB, I kind of feel he's going to be just good enough to keep his job but not good enough to take them where they want to go. A David Kreig type of player which would be fine with me. Instead I saw a QB hitting players on target for most of the game, unlike our QB.  One of the few bad plays he made was the poor decision at the goal line, the  other pick was just a great play by Watt.  He is young, if we are using that reason for Haskins' ups and downs Jones should get that benefit too with regard that one bad decision and not seeing Watt.

I gave him the nickname, Dave Brown, Jr."

People I've sent the link to said it was free. I got it early and it did ask for a subscription, but it was $1 for four weeks, and I can cancel any time. But others have told me it's free, so I don't know.

You get to read two or three articles for free per month. Pay up the measley pittance they ask to read more.

  4. My grandparents, on my father's side, lived in Boston in 1932. They were fans from the beginning. Shortly after the team moved to DC, my grandparents followed. They went to every home game since before season tickets were a thing. I was born in DC, but I didn't really become a fan until George Allen and the Over the Hill Gang. I moved away from the area when I was 14, but I never stopped being a fan.

    I agree with you,

As an aside, There is only one player in my memory who really put an entire team on his back and carried them almost on his own.  Elway before Shanahan.  The fact he got those broncos teams to multiple SBs is astonishing.  Then when they played actual championship caliber teams (49ers, Skins, Giants), he alone wasn’t enough.  But he basically took the Broncos to the SB based on his considerable will.  I view that basically as the exception which proves the rule.

Or it could be said The Browns choked.
