I don't know why mental health issues aren't shared with the ATF for purposes of gun/ammo buying. I know about HIPAA, and respect that, however, for gun ownership, people with mental health issues shouldn't own guns.

Of course they shouldn't. Hasn't this been the common denominator of all these mass shootings? A mental health issue? Clearly a mental health background check should be mandatory for gun purchase and or ownership.  The ownership issue may be tricky in case a mental health issue should manifest itself after a legal purchase.

The Giants won't even get fined. The Redskins would be stripped of draft picks.

Thats just how sports works. NY teams always always always get the benefit of the doubt.

For the Giants and WalkieTalkieGate, it appears that a wrist slap is in order. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the league is planning just a fine as punishment

  3.

Do you really believe that the point of Obamacare is "to control people?"  That was the reason for Obama wanting it.  You're not even going to go with a "misguided way to improve access to healthcare and control cost"?  You actually think that Obama is trying to control you?

I believe the govt is most certainly, healthcare and ins is just one part of it.

I think HE is mostly interested in the directing of funds and policy, and has no clue on controlling costs and improving access.

misguided is not the word I would use

That's ridiculous.  Honestly, I'd like to call it a whole bunch of things.  But Obama is not trying to have control of your life for the eight years he's in office.  The attempt is to make things better.  Not worse.

I'd REALLY be interestd in finding out why you make this claim. Any evidence to support this?? Except for the constitunecy pimping that is.

  4. Another perspective.

"The best way to understand the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) is to realize that it confers large benefits on some people and imposes large costs on others."

f you are one of the ones who will qualify for expanded Medicaid, you will get something for nothing. Although there are quality issues and access problems, including rationing by waiting, Medicaid will probably spend $8,000 on an average family of four over the course of a year. Enrollment is like an $8,000 gift from the government.

If your income is a tad too high for Medicaid, you will get something even better. In a newly created health insurance exchange you will be able to obtain, say, a $15,000 family plan for no more than about a $600 premium. This is almost something for nothing.

  5. I love fans who come out of the woodwork for high profile games and just kill the team every which way.

Anyway, I underestimated what Josh Howard would bring to the team. I also kind of feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders with Gil leaving. I guess because things are what they are, it's kind of exciting to see something new. Optimism.

And Hinrich is a backup PG. Who was just made to play all 48 minutes. Not sure how you can kill him. He is who he is.

I really have no interest in the Wiz whatsoever I just happened to be channel surfing and happened to see that last 7 minutes or so of that "performance" and just reminded me of past Wiz teams, the utter incompetence, and I just posted some observs. That Lebron steal was just putrid.

  6. Man on June 23, 2000 I joined this site and I believe that was the first day possible to join the site. Initially I was member #7 but that changed with all those "software upgrades" through out the years. It's been 9 1/2 years of fun, argument, disappointment, unbelievable sadness and highs but I'd not give it up for anything. Thanks for the write up. HTTR

  7. Here's a very good bock.

INTENSE AND WARMING, A MEAL IN A BOTTLE.

Brewed since the 13th Century, these malty lagers are still some of the biggest and most sophisticated beers around. Bock is the German word for "billy goat" and pictures of goats graze the labels on many bocks and double bocks. We shied away from the goats on our label, but we certainly didn’t shy away from the use of malted barley in this beer.

We use an enormous amount of malted barley, half a pound per bottle, to brew this intensely rich lager. Its deep mahogany color and velvet smooth flavor is a testament to the beer’s high quality two-row malted barley.

Samuel Adams Double Bock was first brewed 20 years ago as the first of our Samuel Adams seasonal offerings, and it is now one of our most acclaimed beers. Double Bock became one the first big beers to be brewed here in the US, and we are now happy to offer it year round.

  8. Man there Harry Johnstons all over the place

A homeless Texarkana man accused of sexual misdeeds with a horse changed his tack Wednesday and agreed to plead no-contest to a misdemeanor charge of bestiality.

Last week, Harry Johnson refused to take an offer by District Judge Wren Autrey and Texarkana, Ark., city prosecutor Tommy Potter that would have meant his release after a few more days in the Miller County jail. At the time, Johnson said in court he didn’t want to plead no-contest. But after speaking with a lawyer Wednesday, he accepted the deal.

“Mr. Johnson met with his court-appointed attorney, Amy Freedman...
