  1. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking a lot of folks can relate to this vibe. I'm 40 and have been a fan of this team since my earliest memories of life. Those Gibbs teams shaped my youth. The Sunday calendar revolved around Redskins football and, if for some reason my parents did the unthinkable and circumstances wouldn't let me watch, Frank, Sonny, and Sam had my back. George Michael and Jim Vance injected highlights and enthusiasm into my veins every week. When we won, their words marked the celebration. When we lost, our commiseration provided comfort. 2. Good morning friends, First off, congrats on the big win last night against those Eagles. You really shut down that offense, especially in the 4th quarter. With those salutations out of the way, let's talk about turkey. We are on a collision course with each other together come Saturday night. It's been awhile since our paths have crossed. Here's some updates since our last meeting in 2016: - Bruce Arians is now the head coach. You can read about him here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Arians - Rob Johnson has moved on to

  3. Welcome to the 2020 Next Day Wrap up Edition. I'm KD and I'll be your host for the evening. Find your seats, grab a Heinicke and settle in. Speaking of Heinicke, our first category is: Rebranded Beer: The Heinicke. I think he has earned the right to be our bridge QB, or at least compete for that spot. He still has to earn the long term QB spot. What I think sets him apart more than a flash in the pan is that he has a very high football IQ. He goes through all of his reads. He feels pressure and understands escape routes. He knocks a ball

  6. I’ve gotten a kick out of all the media, including last night’s commentary, constantly talking about the Giants fans and players and how they feel... without once mentioning the WFT fans and players and how they feel. It was actually amusing. I like being overlooked.

  7. I don't really care. After all the **** this organization has been through, after all Rivera has been through, after all Smith has been through...after all WE'VE been through, as fans...I'll take this. And I'll drink the tears of Giants fans all week long. Here's the deal, if you can't be fully happy about this win, at least take some joy in that the Giants fans are miserable.

  11. Thank goodness this is a thread now. Would hate for an idea like this to be lost in the FA thread with all the other people wanting to trade draft picks for aging, injured, expensive players. This absolutely checks every Vinny box there is Big name? Check. Is he over paid? Check Back side of career? Check Doesn't play every game? Check Can we lose draft capital to obtain him? You betcha. Get er done Dan!

  12. And with that,I think that does it for this thread. Enough dancing on the man's Washington career grave and maybe save some folks from themselves. As for young Mr. Haskins.

  13. Now that we're into a new thread and new era, I just want to say how grateful I am to everyone on this site who helped make the last four years more tolerable, especially the mods and @visionary. You gave of your time and yourselves in a stressful, depressing and incendiary climate. I'm looking forward to spending the next four years with you all, whatever it may bring. I hope this administration affords us all the opportunity to focus on our families, our communities and ourselves, no longer a barrier but a unifying force for good.

  15. I just don’t understand our fascination with denying his ability. Why do we think a guy like Heinicke isn’t the guy? A guy who has a sample size of NFL games (albeit a small one) versus some college QBs that we are hoping can come in and play... like... Taylor Heinicke in the NFL? To address the vet issue, they have NFL film as well, but not in this offensive system. You know who has film in THIS system who played pretty well? Taylor Heinicke. What do these college guys have that Heinicke doesn’t? Their size? Speed? Cannon arms? NFL pro

  17. We’re the only team in the division with a positive point differential. The next closest team was the Giants, with a -77 point differential. We deserved to win the division.

  18. Here we are, and turns out, it’s a fairly unique position. Since our most memorable/infamous “win and in” moment in franchise history in 1979, we haven’t experienced truly meaningful week 17 (week 16 before the bye week was introduced) very often. Let’s start with that heartbreaking moment from long ago and examine the seasons where our playoff fate WAS decided the final week of the year. 1979: If you don’t know how this story ends, then to be perfectly honest, I’m not sure you can call yourself a diehard— you certainly can’t call yourself a student of the franchise, that’s for sure.

  21. This is one of the best rants I’ve seen by a player. I wish a certain player that was recently released realized this. I know this isn’t directly WFT related but this is so appropriate for the last few weeks.

We will remember what you said about respecting law and order. We will remember when you said “the police wouldn’t have done that if they just complied.” All of the hypocrites, we will remember you.

  25. Alex Smith played hurt today to the best of his ability. He wasn't terribly effective, but the man is one of the most courageous players ever to put on a helmet. Calling him a coward from the comfort of your home is, quite frankly, despicable.

  26. All this team needed was average QB play. Don't need hero ball or dumb mistakes, just make smart decisions. Heinicke might be able to provide that (or so I hope).
