  3. People can pick at Joe about this or that, but from where I’m sitting I think he’s run a solid campaign. The ads have been targeted and sensible. Excited for the debate next week. With a strong performance, I feel like Joe can pick up enough momentum to carry him through Election Day.

  4. in was in my late teens when brian's song came out, and i loved that movie, but i'd long been a fan of sayers---two all time fave rbs for me were gale sayers and barry sanders for the fluidity and grace and speed and reaction-time and decision-making...loved watching that combo of traits more unique to them then to many of their contemporaries (at least that's how it seemed to me as a young fan back in the day)...and sayers seemed like such a great guy off the field rip mr.sayers and thank you

  7. Just finished the 2nd half and I was very impressed by DH. Defenses play differently up by a bit, but Logan Thomas, McLaurin, Inman & Gibson all dropped huge passes - none were easy, but all need to be made in the nfl. Haskins stayed much more relaxed in the pocket, his feet were really good throughout his progressions, he made some beautiful throws ... one to Gibson down the sideline was absolutely filthy, Gibson just couldn’t hold on, it may have been a catch he could have ripped off for a TD. Haskins was the best player on offense in the 2nd, I am very encouraged by seeing him rebound l

  8. They actually believe their hatred will help their own lives by enabling them to finally get rid of that which makes their lives bad. In other words, fascism. It isn't shocking that people fell for it again. What is shocking is when it does not affect a society. It is a constant fight to keep it down. We used to know this, and now we fail to acknowledge the lessons learned by our grandparents and great grandparents. In fact, the American right embraces those they fought against. It is sickening, it is traitorous, and as history has shown, there is only one way it end

  11. I think this is pretty debatable now. They may not all be white nationalists, but as a whole they defend and support those who are and do their best to help white nationalists get into power and cater to them in their ads and speeches. So while not every member of the GOP and certainly many many Republicans in general are not White Nationalists, the party itself can be fairly labeled as such. But this is probably not the thread to go into a lengthy back and forth on this. Let’s get back to discussing Ginsburg and her possible replacement here.

  12. Very sad news indeed. I was 10 when Brian's Song came out but it had a profound impact on me. I was just a few years into my football interest. The relationship and loyalty the two had struck me. I was a little too young to remember watching Gale run much in games but I remembered the name when the movie came out. A truly gifted athlete but also an amazing man. I am fortunate enough to have an autographed copy of My Life and Times (My ex-girlfriend got it for me - long story). Great book! What a sad day. All the best to his family.

  18. I can’t understand why you’d replace Haskins now. The only reasons to do it are: 1) injury 2) the team is competing. It has talent and the quarterback is costing them games mostly due to costly mistakes or 3) your QB is older and you have a young guy on your bench that you are grooming to be the guy and it’s time to pass the torch. Its 2020 so I won’t speak on point 1. But point 2 isn’t happening... 3) There is no torch passing because Haskins IS the young guy. You can’t pull him now. He’s the QB. Get a real evaluation, see if he improves through

  19. Sorry but this absurd. It’s not babysitting when you’re throwing him out there with that line, it’s trial by fire. Also, it’s not like Dwayne is out there losing games. It’s not like when Nathan Peterson threw 5 INT in a half. He’s absolutely not the worst qb player despite what some random stat says. Benching Haskins now serves no purpose other than examining whether or not Kyle Allen is your future and I have no idea why anyone would have the slightest idea why that would be the case. Dude started out hot, and then completely fell apart. He’s simply not a good QB. Your demand to

  20. @volsmet Not gonna fly here. That's the type of thing that if seen by certain people would get the board taken down. We had an issue with someone posting a more direct/blunt version of what you were implying & it didn't fly then either. The easiest way to stop this behavior is for me to just delete the entire Tailgate forum. Don't be the guy that causes that.

  23. Regardless of statistics, it's just a terrible assumption to make. We're supposed to be against prejudice. Don't actively practice it. (But if you do, you're more than welcome to keep it to yourself.) No judgment, just sayin.

  26. Haskins is a high risk high reward guy, so his bust potential is very high. I’ve seen some people digging on Burrow a bit, using some bad moments to illustrate that people are being more patient with him than Dwayne. Burrow is absolutely a rookie quarterback. He showed it at times the first two games. And he made some big mistakes. But he is also calm and poised. No moment is too big. I watched a lot of Cincy in week 1 and 2. Week one he was worse, but in the final moments he led the team right down the field and threw the game winning pass that hit AJ Green in the chest.

  27. Ahhhh........ The cynical, skeptical part of me rolls its eyes at this People keep expecting and hoping and wishing for something to magically make everything better. John McCain! Mitch Romney! Mueller! etc, etc and so on........ Guess what? Wanna hear something? NO ONE IS GOING TO FIX THIS! We are not on the verge of war, we are already AT war, one side is still just in denial The Repubs have given up on even the pretense of an election other than to use it to keep stringing people along. People like to talk

  32. Agree. When he plays with urgency it’s like he turns his brain off. He doesn’t see pressure. He zones in and delivers strikes in places they need to be. It’s when he has too much thinking time that he starts to falter. Im hoping the offensive staff finds a plan that works for him. We are message board posters... as I was told yesterday, none of us know better than anyone on a pro staff. I don’t fully agree with that, but they do know more about what’s happening behind the scenes, so I can’t sit here and judge the gameplans thus far. But I do wonder the c

  33. Not too bad considering he faced Chandler Jones. Let's hope he can stabilize his game. Even if the run-blocking still seems to be suspect, he elevated his game significantly. There was also another tweet up there somewhere of someone saying that he was impressive against Jones.
